Dropping A '30 Ford Model Cab On A Brand New Chassis - Truck Tech S4, E17

- Our '30 Model A cab and bed is removed from its 87 year old frame. Then the build can begin by putting the cab on the new frame, along with firewall modifications.
I can't understand why people take something in such good shape and destroy it. I can understand if it's a rust bucket.
That was a pretty solid antique truck and you destroyed it just for the cab and bed. You could have gone out and got just a cab and bed somewhere and left this classic alone so future generations can see how vehicles used to be. It doesn't make any sense how you went about this project.
They do that to so many vehicles, it's a shame 😢
Museums!! Bro!!
You to break a few eggs to build a original hot rod the old school way. Plus they produced so many of those trucks, there are still a ton of those trucks in original condition you just have to know were to find them. Also if you know you history they started to make reproductions way way back in the day.
@@ericrodriguez8412 There's plenty of broken eggs already to get a cab and bed from. There might be plenty left now but with that attitude there won't be. It makes absoltely no sense to take a truck this old in this condition and part it out for just the cab and bed.
@ericrodriguez8412 the point is they could have bought an aftermarket cab and bed. Really they aren't as plentiful as you think. Seriously, how old are you, yeah 1930 model T's are so plentiful. Then tell me why I can't find one like that for sell here in the Midwest??? Smartass.
What happened to this truck? Never finished? This is 4 or so years old.
7 years old. :) It aired in 2017.
Came for the salty sooky restorers complaining about this..........wasn't disappointed🤣🤣
I can understand a stronger frame, but only other changes needed are a dropped axle and 16 inch wire wheels and juice brakes. Like flathead engines, so I’d stick with that.
Flathead V8 and an Ardun conversion?
Flathead for sure!!!
I hope they went pontiac or Oldsmobile!
Did bumpis take this truck with him, I'd love to see it finished but it's probably too much for LT, way over his head
Did they ever finish this project?
Should have just bought a repop truck body, if all you were gonna use was the body. You ruined a perfectly good running classic to get another cookie cutter retro rod.
Not really,
A repop cab is 10k and the chassis and running gear can be used by people that want a parade car to repair a couple of cars.
@@MrStacy1974if you can afford $7000 for the frame you can go for a new cab. Once original are gone they will never return.
@@jamesberdine8574 I'm in the parts gathering portion of my 38 chevy pickup build.
To me it would be crazy to leave it stock even though it's complete.
I want my truck to be a safe , fun driver , it won't be fun at a top speed of 55mph or safe with a single taillight or vacuum wipers that don't work at high rpm.
If you want a parade car that you have to tow to events that fine ,but not everyone wants the same thing.
@@MrStacy1974 I am with you on that. Keep it original on the outside but upgrade the safety. In other words resto mod. I am against cutting up original cars/trucks. Once the originals are gone they are gone.
@@jamesberdine8574 they're doing the same thing in this show that I am , they just have a much bigger budget.
The chassis and drivetrain were sold off and those pieces will go on living in someone's restoration.
My truck is a 3/4 ton long bed that will be cut down to a short bed , not exactly stock on the outside.
FLIP IT AROUND LMAO 😂
Should have kept the running boards fenders. I wonder if LT gets paid from tv company using his name and person

👍
New frame, breaks and steering good. Should not have cut it up! VERY disappointing.
But it is "normal" to put spacers, blocks, and Clown Shoe Big Tires on a modern truck to get it 4X4 Off Road Read!?, and never drive it off road

This episode aired in 2017. Imagine the type of people that want to fool their own fans? Gross.
