Brave you, trying something you didn't think you'd like! I like the pullover/vest you ended up with, though I'm sceptical about whether it will hold together after a bit of wearing and washing.
I want to knit a shawl using a light weight yarn and needles size US 13 (or maybe even larger). I also live in a subtropical area, so I wonder if that combination of yarn vs needles will produce a mesh-like fabric. Maybe with a novelty yarn it could make a nice looking accessory for the cooler months.
i quickly checked around but did not find if you posted the pattern, have you? I think this is very elegant and has lots of finesse and detail; normally I dislike real chunky but this somehow looks delicate.
I like to try things to see if I like them too. I've learned that I DO NOT like knitting chunky. I once yarn bombed a bridge (with friends - lol!) with mega yarn (6 stands of 8ply plyed together on my wheel) on bright orange 25mm needles. I hated knitting it, but the resulting bridge scarf was spectacular. (Here's a giggle for you ... I had a dreadful cold whilst knitting it, and deleriously started calling my needles "carrots". Aren't cold and flu tablets great? Rofl!)
Oh my gosh! So simple, and effective, quick AND fun!!! What more could you ask for in a project! I have some Habu tale yarn that I wanna turn use to knit this, but I think I'm gonna make it thigh length tunic! As to care and durability, anyone who knits/crochets lace or wears lace shawls will tell you how to care for it. It's really not any more difficult to care for lace/eyelet fabric than it is for regular knitting, Gentle hand wash, lay flat to dry is the mantra !
I don't have the pattern available yet, I didn't realise how many people would be interested! I will work on it this week. Keep an eye on my social media @fiberific on facebook, twitter and instagram ;)
I love that top you made.....OMG...BEAUTIFUL...❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Thank you so much 😀

I must confess, I am not a yarn bombing fan.... just that I don't get much yarning time.. I want it for me, rather than a bush.
3 Hours is amazing- love the top and yes please to the pattern.

Hi Chantelle, Love your creation and hoping you will make the pattern available for the bigger girls sizes also please.
Absolutely ! I need one for me (I am a 20) I will try to grade it out with a few sizes...
Haha. I learnt to knit socks not to make a bunch of socks, but to know that I could. Yet to crochet a doily though.
I should probably find it hahaha.
Pretty! And I love your personality!
Thank you!
Do you think 15mm needles would be ok to do this, if so can I order a pair if you have them please.
I think it would work for sure! And I do I have some 15mm in stock over at fiberific.com.au/product/chiaogoo-bamboo-24-60cm-fixed-circulars/
