Here you see Tommy, Stochelo and Vlatko play the song Good Time Charlie's Got The Blues. They have formed an amazing trio called the 'Kings Of Strings'.
This is what you get when not only 1 but 3 virtuosos play a great song ... one could listen this on repeat "forever" :-))))
Brings back wonderful memories, Ive been playing this song since 1977 when I joined the navy. My best friend that I played it with for the last few years recently passed away. He had given me a 65 year old Silvertone guitar that had seen its better days and since his passing I have re glued, restrung, refretted and set up the action to a level that compares to the best anywhere. Every time I hear this song I wear out another set of strings playing that guitar. You guys sound great and motivate me even more to keep my buddy's memory and his guitar playing on and on never to be forgotten. Now my son is wanting to learn guitar and I gave him the Silvertone with the understanding that anytime he played it around someone new the story of Lemar and the guitars origin would be passed on again never to be forgotten, thanks for the great music.
Cool story ' Hope he passes it on and those who play it passes it on
I agree great story
Gotta love Vlatko's expression at the very end, like ''hey, that wasn't so bad after all..''
Tommy Emanuel is too cool. Never steps on anybody's playing.
Why, the others do?
Absolutely, I've experienced it and see it and hear quite often even from the "pros". Do you know what it means when someone says "he/she is stepping on the vocals or another player". If so, no disrespect.
Vlatko is so natural talent. You can just see that.
that is because he can't
These Good Ole Boys got true country soul. Music from their guitars to God’s ears!
Sittin' on the couch on Sunday afternoon playin' Good Time Charlie, does it get better????
I didn't show my uncle who was playing but his ears perked up and he said "high end talent".
This is the highest as music can get!
If this is a dream, don't wake me up, ever!
Given up on metal these guys inspired me to master the acoustic guitar it's like a breath of fresh air compared to generic metal music
I never get tired of listening to this. I love listening to the guitar playing instead of listening to the lyrics💯🤙
Here I am loving this song.. (hmm.. what 20, 30 years in now? :>) but then wishing they'd sing more too 🙃
...A real good feeling comes to my mind when listening to these gents picking.
good players like them are not afraid of using acoustics. simply superb.
I'm holding tickets now for show #4 to see Tommy. The closer to the stage you get, the bigger the THRILL. Every song Tommy plays has his talent all over it. Every guest he has along is as professional as he is. Amazing musician and I can't get enough of him.
"Tommy you make my world better to be in, Thank You so much!!!!"
Ooh my god. The solo Stochelo plays. Some power, the tones come out like bullets :)
...and yet they have an amount of tenderness.
Each player brings something different to the mix. I like that.
Best version I've heard
That was incredible 😢
Just absolutely sublime.
Give these Gentlemen
the best Beer available
in the Town
I associate this song with a very hard part if my life.
I both love it and hate it at the same time.
These men make me love and hate it more than ever.
Done so well I now have the blues..........................
Thanks
Charlie - Aspen, Colorado
This makes my heart smile!!! PERFECTION
Great Guitarists Here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In this version Tommy starts by stating the melody, then Vlatko and Stochelo take turns in doing their variation solos, then they finish together on the melody.
Nicely done Men, snapp'n thumpin and lovin it . ! .
This is just awesome.
Great arrangement and performance 👍🏼
Danny has to love this cover.
Vlatko Sefanovski is an incredibly talented individual, as is Stochelo Rosenberg. I miss the Kings of Strings, but Vlatko has gone on to composing more beautiful music for film and concert, many with a local Macedonian influence? He Is very under recognized in this country.
2:49 - 3:10 is pure awesomeness

Clapton..and various blues and southern rock with some great expanded carl perkins style.. sliding hammers and trills.. a little tab benoit style albert king ..some syncopated prestipino rhythms....its really nice..i guess enough time has elapsed to make them sound fresh and airy in this new and vibrant context..love it

Wow!
Really like how the guy with the hat played that solo. Very nice.
His name is Vlatko Stefanovski and he's the most prominent guitar player in the Balkan region for decades. Check his concerts with Miroslav Tadic, profesor of the guitar from L.A. They are both from Macedonia.
luv to see musicians enjoying themselves
wonderful, it's the mixture of 3 different styles of 3 grand masters !... :)

PERFECTION Gentleman!
Was it me or was there a horse clip clopping inthe back ground :) I pictured this horse and rider at the end of a hot tiring day, on the home trail, a little blue. These guys are brilliant.
This video is like a blood transfusion for my emotions.

Damn. That's beautiful.
mesmerizing almost hypnotic at some points.
Sounds great fellas! Thanks for posting!!
It's a sweet sweet tune!
Brilliant 🙏
i love how much stochelo is holding back
Slaying it. Wow!
SUPER!
They are all great.
Each one has a different playing style. Tommy = country, Vlatko = folk, Stochelo = classical. The style matches which parts of the world they are from.
you first define the difference between folk and country... tommy is blues based ... he's using alot of pentatonic scales...
tommy = blues, stochelo = jazz/swing/folk
+mikimuzika Stochelo Rosenberg comes from the Gypsy Jazz Manouche family! Father of that style (Gypsy Manouche) is Django Reinhardt! Regards :)
Like any music, it is derivative. All have been influenced, and all will influence. The arrangement is the definition of beauty. Great song. We are fortunate to have talent like this. Doesn’t matter to me where it came from, just that I got to witness it. Until UA-cam, one never saw Vlatko in the US. Stochelo is the quiet talent that always moves the project forward. Any player aspires to his level. Tommy should be thanked for his part in putting this together. His sense of melody is astonishing. A talented player might take this to “super noodle”, Tommy is above that.
Really nice.
well done buddies !!!!
Wow excellent boys!
Beautiful 🎸🎵
Lovely!!
magical
It's not about guitar, it is Vlatko. :)
