I can't understand a bunch of good for nothing youtubers making fun of Sambora. These guys are having fun, none of them has to prove anything, all are legends and each fits into the situation. I bet none of you would dare to be even pick up the guitar in front of them. lol
We were lucky enough to be at this special event, sitting front and center with these three guitar greats just ripping it up! Such an incredible treat and one I will never forget!
There isn't a competition going on just three guys tearing it up and having a great time! I love all three players they are each different.... and that's where the magic lies ... it's not about who's the fastest... or most technical, sometimes the simplest lick will have the most impact in a tune!❤️
Tommy kept his play middle of the road but he has sooooo much talent he could have taken off anytime but yeah did'nt want to show up his fellow players. I've been to see Tommy 5 times live, folks if you ever get a chance to see him live, do it, he's INCREDIBLE!

Thanks for the upload. Great to see this intimate setting for such an enlivened upbeat performance by three talented musicians. Tommy's solo is mind blowing ... no surprise ... He's amazing as always and such a good sport. He loves "guitar dialogue" with another player...probably reminds him of the old days playing with his brother Phil.
Two of my all time favorites on stage is just incredible and the humility of Laurence to let TE and RS just go for it. They are all excellent guitarists but TE and LJ are my inspiration.
MUSIC IS NOT COMPETITION IT IS COMMUNICATION. ITS A LANGUAGE, VOICE OF OUR HEARTS THAT SPEAK THROUGH OUR SOULS. I CAN PLAY BLUES TOO.. I HOPE SOMEDAY I CAN SPEAK TO SUCH LEGENDS LIKE THIS GUYS. THANKYOU FOR THE MUSIC!!
I get sick of who's better than who comments by wannabees everytime I watch a youtube video by. I've seen Tommy in concert yep he's great fantastic even but so are the other 2 guys. Juber from 1:55 …. loved it Samboras soloing from 1:15 was great as well. Good video mate and just watched it for about the 10th time. Thanks.
Great video! I'm not sure how I missed this all these years, but yes - fantastic! As a musician, I have much respect for Lawrence, Tommy and Richie. All three are pretty amazing players with impressive resumes. Thanks for this, cheers!
Now THAT was fun! I love seeing Tommy play "down to Earth" stuff. I love the dude, but I get bored when he goes bonkers playing "too fancy" with all the percussive stuff mixed with endless harmonics and such... sometimes it's just too busy for me. But, unlike many virtuoso guys, like Vai, etc., Tommy knows what a song needs and doesn't feel the need to show off 100% of the time, and his licks are super tasty. Sambora I think is underrated, he is one of the most melodic and memorable players and songwriters in rock history IMO. And most folks don't know, he ran into Juber at Norman's Rare Guitars, didn't know who he was but blew Richie's mind playing fingerstyle acoustic guitar, so Richie introduced himself and started taking lessons! His first lessons ever at age 53 at the time. Cool stuff. P.S. - When it all comes down to it, just kickstart a little Elvis and all is good baby!
Tommy is just like that: he complements the co-performers and does not out-perform other guitarists onstage. Truly a master, not wielding his talent too much and still brings out the best in others.
Been playing guitar 40 years. Made my living with it for 20 of those years. Traveled all over and spent countless hours in studios. No "expert," but I know guitar playing and players. Anyone here criticizing Ritchie Sambora I say this: Either link your video of YOU playing as good as he does in here, or STFU and delete your post. The man CAN PLAY, and the fact that you know his name and he doesn't know yours tells the whole story. He also can write a check for the other two guys, so there's that too. He's talented and known the world over. (and he also has dated and married stunning women). What did YOU do again???
Thanks for your comment - It was really a great vibe that whole night- I have all the uncut footage of them talking to the crowd answering question and such ....
Amazing jam! Playing with Tomy Emmanuel has to be scary, and you need a pair of big balls to grab a guitar in front of him. All of them did a great job and you can tell they were having fun like kids...
Yeah I'm sure someone who was the lead guitarist of the most famous songwriter on the planet 50 years ago or the lead guitarist of one of the biggest rock bands are thoroughly scared by jamming with him

Out of 150 guitarists who paid for this master class, Tommy asked me to grab my geetah (his pronunciation) and we all jammed for a half an hour in the dining room b4 the actual performance. Ritchie dropped out after the first 5 minutes but not because he wasn't hangin. We know each other and I just think he wanted ME to have the fun.
I've watched all the clips on the playlist now, and I have to say, loved every minute. I won't lie, I really only came for Tommy, but I always love watching him jam with other musicians. I'd never heard of Laurence before, and can appreciate that he is a top class player. Of course I know Richie, I'm an 80s girl after all. Having watched his interview and hearing about meeting and getting lessons from Laurence and the awe in his voice when he said Tommy is just terrifying (made me lol)... he was under no illusions about the skills he was bringing to this and was just thrilled to be playing with two masters that he could ultimately learn from. People dumping on him should just give themselves an uppercut. Much love 💜
I'm a Laurence and Tommy fan kind of guy. I don't care much for Bon Jovi and haven't listened to Sambora much. I'm guessing that if it was just Juber and Emmanuel, they would have done a way different type of tune - And I came here for that different type of tune. But I thought Richie Sambora really hit it here. He caught the feel of the song spot on.

Other than Sambora's cliche use of stale pentatonic scales & timing challenges, he's perfect...and he had a hot wife.
