The one thing about the program that put it above all others of the same nature, was: 1) it had members of the family everyone of all ages could relate to. 2) The scripts were written for real life situations and each actor or actress related to the situations as a real person would. 3) The entire cast was composed of good looking people and never looked like they were trying to act funny. Not like shows like The Brady Bunch. 4) Allot of good music in every episode. 5) You could watch reruns of this show today and travel back in time to some very fond memories!!!
This showed aired on September 25, 1970. Our family moved 4 months later. I was 11 when it first aired but I don’t remember it from my former home. Only the home we moved to. It had such catchy songs and a great cast. David Cassidy & Susan Dey were gorgeous.

@muzik note That was David's mistake. There was nothing wrong with Susan, other than her eating disorder (bulimia?), which could've been fixed. Any teenaged or early-twenty-something guy during the 70's would've loved to have been in David's shoes with the opportunity for a relationship with Susan that he threw away.
At one time David was THE biggest music star in the world. Sold out Wembley 6 nights in a row. The Beatles only did 5. He has crowds just as huge. 40k plus where possible. Watch the special on A&E channel about him
markus huttom . There is no way David Cassidy came even close to the Beatles. Cassidy was a manufactured Hollywood idol. He had handlers and a TV show. The Beatles run circles around this drunken jerkoff.
I vividly remember the summer of 1970 when ABC pulled out all the "stops" to promote the premiere of the Partridge Family in the fall. Almost every commercial break/station identification spot had a commercial promoting the show. The interest in the premiere was great and this essentially made the show a "hit" right out of the "gate".
I remember having a crush on Susan Dey but I also liked Suzanne Crough. She passed away at a young age a few years ago. I thought the show was hilarious, especially the interplay between Reuben Kincaid and Danny.
Where was Susand Day? I remember having a dream that I was rehearsing with this band, playing keyboards. My mother bought records of the Partridge Family when I was very young child, but never knew that I would pursue being a professional keyboard player more than 40 years later.
One of the best 70's family show. It was comedy, family show, with the added singing of hit songs at the end. Frankly, I thought " I'll Meet You Halfway ", was a great song and I still listen to it once in a while.
Keith Partridge had a big part in my picking up a guitar as a kid. That and the fact that every other person in my Third Grade class had guitars in school and one of my teachers played so it was a really cool thing to do at the time. Still playing after 50 years!
About a year before David died I heard a new song that really was not done well and I thought You know, if David Cassidy did that song it would be top 10 hot. His voice was so sweet and mellow. No one will ever replace him.
I was the same age as Danny. We were 10 when the show started. I was such a messed up kid who was unmercifully bullied at school. As the song went "Come on get happy" and I did! I use to pretend I was part of them. My 2 favorite shows back then were this show and the Brady Bunch!! Loved these guys!
BULLYING is as old as time. I was bullied for being a shy, skinny reddish haired twin gal back then. It's just HOW kids OVERREACT to it now. My G-d, just get help, or even quit, or better yet, ignore them and do your schoolwork!
If it makes them feel better, I didn't see Susan Day at the more recent LA Law reunion on 'The View' with all the other surviving members of the cast in attendance.
I loved Susan Dey's portrayal of Jo March in the 1978 TV miniseries adaptation of _Little Women_ . I didn't really follow her career much after that, mainly because I never got into watching _L.A. Law_ . I related more to Corbin Bernsen's role as Mitch Kendrick in the movie _Judgment_ .

This is so lovely to see,David looked very relaxed with the some of the cast of the show that literally changed his life! Today I have seen 2 shows with David in them I haven,t seen before, maybe they are releasing a few more of these gems,I hope so! David so loved his fans,he was always saying how he felt so blessed to have made a difference in some of his fans lives,I think that is a lovely thing to say,and I really do believe he meant it. Apart from his amazing looks ,his voice, his talent,he was well respected for the way he loved his fans. Rest peacefully sweet David.
Hi Carol
I'm sure I'm not alone, but as a kid growing up in the 1970s Susan was one of my first crushes. She was so beautiful she was angelic. I hope she's doing well.
Randy Brackett Google Susan Dey. She STILL looks hot. I believe she was coming out in a TV series about lawyers. Can't remember name.
@@snap2114 LA Law.
Susan Dey became a big tv star on LA Law.
Sherly was mine ,,
The Partridge Family was a great show and I always looked forward to seeing it every day. Never goes out of style. Loved David like an older brother. Great music 👌👍.
Thanks David you will be missed
I loved that show soooo much. THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY was the BEST!!! David Cassidy was huge. God Bless him. And Suzanna Crough. She was a cutey.
RIP sweet David. You are loved & missed beyond what you could ever imagine. I am happy that your no longer in pain, but wish you were still here with all of us-without the horrible pain (physical, mental, emotional). I wish that all of us (your fans) could have helped you. 💔💔💔😭😭😭😭😢😢😢
to starr brannon that was such a beautiful post about David Cassidy you just wrote an I will add I wished also Dr. Phil could have helped David when he was on his show 9 months prior to his death . I met David several times an we miss him .
RIP David, sure did and still do LOVE you!!! RIP sweet Suzanne miss you too!
Also RIP Suzanne.
@@deniseyurek589 I agree about wishing Dr. Phil could have helped David!
@@deniseyurek589 That is awesome what a great memory to have.
I wanted to be David back then! L🤣 L I loved watching the TV show. 📺 I had a crush on Susan Dey. 💘
Years later, David and his brother Sean were in The Hardy Boys. I liked that show too! 😃
I saw David long after these shows. Nice guy. 👌
RIP David Cassidy.
The show was a "HIT" because all the teenage girls were in love with David Cassidy. DUH!
Hi pam
And 11year olds 💕💕
I was a bit younger than Danny, kids my age loved his precociousness. A lot of young kids on TV then acted really kind of dopey,it was supposed to be cute. I definitely wanted to be more like him then Cindy or Bobby Brady!
They feel like part of our family. Great interview!
I copied davids hair, it worked really well, the long feathered look, the girls , even the country girls here in nor cal, were very receptive!
But he had the talent, i could only dream of!! Rip brother!!
David Cassidy was the man and from all of us Partridge Family's fans- we love and miss you dearly! Rest In Peace!
This was 2010. I think the last seven years for David must have been hell.
I know. 😢. No One could've imagined 7 "short" yrs later, he'd be gone. 😭
Rest In Peace, David Cassidy. Loved watching the Partridge Family!!!!
That awkward moment when they talk about Susan Dey.... I guess David probably regretted a number of things about his past involving her.
They're honest. Nothing to be angry about.
@@laureencallahan6946 You was clearly not a fan and so why come on here venting your spleen about David.

@@laureencallahan6946 wow! you got some issues going on there, go get your head sorted out. You poor fucked old cow lol
@ted smith Were you David Cassidy's drinking partner? You sound like it.
@@patricemarie3412 Your talkin' to a Jersey Boy so shut up.
@@arniewince7133 Jealous much?? Can't blame you though. David Cassidy was a beautiful , talented and kind man.
@ted smith You're jealous too....understandable. I'm guessing that you are probably bald, considering your fascination with David's hair.
LOVED this show...
RIP David & Suzanne
What ? Suzanne when did she die
@@jacksg1809 Several months ago.
@@jacksg1809 April 27th, 2015.
Susan Dey is still alive. She is 69 yrs old.
@@jacksg1809 2015 sitting at her dinning room table! Heart issue.
Love David and Shirley.
The Partridge Family were based on The Cowsills
but. the cowsills where an unbelievably GREAT band
Suzanne Crough reminds me a lot of Susan Cowsill, who Tracy was based on. Susan and the Cowsills were still performing in recent years.
Correct!
I had such a crush on David Cassidy!!!
so sad that david and suzzanne are gone!
They are both dead?
Tina Labbe yes
Don't be confused with Susan and suzanne
Does anyone know what Suzanne died from??
@@julielucia3930 Crough's cause of death was arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia, a rare form of cardiomyopathy.
Miss David gave me so many good memories as a kid 💕
Great very wholesome show.
Loved the music and every show had a great message. A time gone forever but I’m so thankful for having it growing up.
Where was Susand Day? I remember having a dream that I was rehearsing with this band, playing keyboards. My mother bought records of the Partridge Family when I was very young child, but never knew that I would pursue being a professional keyboard player more than 40 years later.
I loved that show.. Danny was hilarious
This show has been more successful in reruns than it was back in the early '70s. My 11-year-old niece digs it!
One of the best 70's family show. It was comedy, family show, with the added singing of hit songs at the end. Frankly, I thought " I'll Meet You Halfway ", was a great song and I still listen to it once in a while.
I loved The Patridge Family and David Cassidy even though I was only 6-7 years old. I still listen to Partridge Family CDs and watch episodes on DVDs.
I was attracted to Sherly Jones when i was 12 lol ... Im now 61
Rip Dave grew up with ya Thanks for the memories
RIP DAVID CASSIDY AND SUZANNE CROUGH THANKYOU FOR YOUR BEAUTIFUL TALENTED MAY GOD LOOK AFTER YOU IN HEAVEN AND KEEP PROTECTING YOUR FAMILIES
Hi Danny
A great show, I watch it everyday
Cute story 👍
yes they were good times. I was not bullied will high school
I'm a month younger than Danny Bonaduce. I remember watching on that Friday night in 1970 when it premiered ❤️
Me too. And I have reddish blonde hair to his bright red.
BULLYING is as old as time. I was bullied for being a shy, skinny reddish haired twin gal back then. It's just HOW kids OVERREACT to it now. My G-d, just get help, or even quit, or better yet, ignore them and do your schoolwork!
I always liked Susan Dey, she was so beautiful
If it makes them feel better, I didn't see Susan Day at the more recent LA Law reunion on 'The View' with all the other surviving members of the cast in attendance.
I loved Susan Dey's portrayal of Jo March in the 1978 TV miniseries adaptation of _Little Women_ . I didn't really follow her career much after that, mainly because I never got into watching _L.A. Law_ . I related more to Corbin Bernsen's role as Mitch Kendrick in the movie _Judgment_ .
OMG I wish there would have been a Partridge Family reunions really of everybody if there's one out there I'll find it on UA-cam love you David miss you like I said I'll see you again in heaven something that beautiful definitely went to heaven I was one of your many girl crush on you and Danny Bonaduce I've kept up with you a lot too when you were looking for a home breaking Danny Bonaduce watched all of it loved you I always watched you as a kid I was a kid ride along with you in 1970 I was 10 so I was born in 1960 so I was right there as a kid watching The Partridge Family
