- While out on a ride today, we decided to stop and do a suspension adjustment on the brand new 2024 Harley Davidson Road Glide.  Harley Davidson provides the tool with the new motorcycles and the owners manual has a convenient chart to give you a good starting point based on the weight load you wish to carry.
What is the weather so in this video we takeoff the saddlebags and make the adjustments and show you step-by-step exactly how to do it. This is very easy even a novice can make these adjustments and improve the ride and handling of the brand new motorcycle.

The best adjustment, for Harley shocks, is replace with after market!

Would you adjust just one shock on a Softail? Ignorant crap from woke company
Shock was factory set to the softest setting, ie no preload.
Nice having all those turns available to fine tune it.
My suspension is similar to the 'soft tail' config, only 4 turns of preloading available.

You might have to do like Slappy who is also a big guy and upgrade the shocks. I’m a big dude as well and would need to go with better shocks as well.
A complete suspension upgrade is definitely in the future for Dr. evil, but I wanted to show people how the average writer to adjust this with the relative simplicity

When my wife and I purchased out new Trike in 2021, the first thing I noticed was it rode like a wagon no matter where you set the suspension. Finally I installed Legend suspension front and rear and the ride was so much better. Only thing, where I live the damn roads are horrible and if you have ever ridden a trike, it is twice as bad as two wheels when you hit a hump in the road. Hopefully your change here will make a big difference.
It definitely made a difference. Obviously not as good as a full suspension upgrade, but I think for the average writer, they should know how to make these adjustments.
This will help a lot of the new 24 owners.

Shocks on my street glide suck. I Will never understand why there is only one adjustable shock and the other side is only along for the ride (non adjustable). Seems like alot of load for one shock to handle.
Both of the rear shocks on this are adjustable, however, they are adjustable in very different manners. These will never be as good as a true performance suspension system
@@amsoiladam when you upgrade..pull em off and install on the ironhead..no you'll probably put em on the king
Your best thing would to do is throw those shocks away and put the legend shocks on makes a big difference
Suspension upgrade is definitely in the future, but it will not be using legends. But the whole point was to show people how to adjust their stock suspension, which is a world of improvement over the previous models.
@@amsoiladam I had those shocks on my street glide they’re OK but the legend shocks are totally worth the money but your video was good. I enjoy washing them. I’ll see you in Daytona.
