    I did the same Homie!! Met a girl from Cali this summer, up in Canada. She changed my surfing!! Had so much fun and learned how to just CHILL on the waves. My eyes, my head and my heart just sloooowed it all down and my rides got so much more fun!!! I'm THERE the whole wave and Homie, my waves look and feel soooo goooood!!! Keep Calm, Surf On!! Love your edits. 😏🤙 Yewww

    Grace and flow is what makes longboarding more beautiful than shortboarding (the exception being Tom Curren). It's so nice to have a channel focused on what we love so much. Good luck with the new venture.

    Having watched your videos all this time makes me even a bit blind of all the progression you made, but seriously, you rip man. I love that comment about taking time your time to relax once you catch a wave. I never really thought about it but my best waves are often with when I took 2 seconds to just breath and go from there.

      Yea its kinda the same for me. I have to go back and watch old videos to really see the improvement. It might not look like a huge step to some, but there's no doubt in my mind im way better than I used to be. Still a long way to go tho haha

    A lot of things you learn to do with your body, first it's mechanical and slowly becomes fluid, then you become one with it. Surfing, driving a car, a motorcycle, water and snow skiing, etc.

    Great video! Shredding is much the same way in that if you relax & feel the mountain it's usually a great run. When fighting or overly attacking the mountain it usually not as smooth. You don't want to take to many hard falls (catching an edge) snowboarding as it's way worse then getting dumped off ur board.

    In my search for improving my longboarding I have found that getting away from that darn greenough 4a will make you a better longboarder. It might just be my bias (hahaha) but pivot fins, wider based flexes, and DT finger fins all improved how I surfed my logs

    • @LongboardSessions
      @LongboardSessions  9 місяців тому

      I think we're both right in a certain sense. With pivot fins, you really gotta work hard to turn and that teaches you many things. I'm more coming from the angle of cross stepping / noseriding and flow. I think overall the 4a is a better teacher, but both have their place. You just gotta ride everything to be well rounded haha!

    I've been addicted to the 8'2 pintail singlefin life for over a year now and your vids are super informative for some of the nuances! I have the opposite addiction, trying to charge barrels with the pintail, and even with the dif styles there's tons of little tricks that I was too stubborn to figure out since I was thinking "the skills will just transfer". Nope, didn't consciously think about dragging my foot on the takeoff to engage the fin until I saw one of your vids a while ago. Within 12h of that I had the most fun on that board I'd had so far :)
    Slowly started taking it out in bigger and bigger swells with the improvements from you and getting the feel of it, it slowly replaced my shortboard haven't seen her in a year, and now I have the voices of you and Chicken Joe ringin in my ears while tryin to find a tuube
    Always looking forward to learning something with your uploads and even better that it's NJ content, cheers from north ocean ;)

    Nose riding obsession is the same in surfing with the airs. The majority of people fail to understand the air tricks are the cherry on top of the cake (and not the cake) should only be performed when you’ve achieved style flow and ride properly the majority of the wave. The second waves reminds me teenagers desperately trying to have sex.😂😂😂😂

      I'm very aware. Iv'e reached out to the owners many times to resolve, but no answer. However, in the last week people started getting their fins. I'd expect yours shortly.

    Yes, your shuffling to the nose, is for beginnerish level.
    Practice cross stepping, even just on a curb or in your garden is a good place to start.
    Just some helpful tips for you

    Love your vids, Brian, but I gotta say that horrible looped “music” under your speaking is really off putting.
    I liked it when you tried it without music, and I like Ben C’s acoustic guitar underlay. I don’t think that looped electronic stuff is even a matter of taste. It’s just sorta annoying like someone’s phone going off in the middle of a movie. OK. Rant over. Just my tuppence worth 😉🤙
