I had the privilege to be present in the pineapple fields watching Jaws rip over a decade ago. When those waves come crashing down your whole body vibrates... Insane display of the super forces of nature and the unbelievable courage of the surfers, jest ski tow-in guys, and photographers. An experience I will always treasure!!!
@@consistentwinner I wouldn't do that either. Pastrana jumping out no shute...nope. But the terror of these MONSTERS moving , coming for you. Uniquely terrifying. I dont want the experience, I sleep fine.
I will never understand physics etc. and how the hell on earth do these brave men and women ever survive the Tons of water come crashing down on them and still get back up and repeat all over again. That is balls personified.
It's def an accomplishment but for my money I have to go with the guys bombing the 37 mile course at the Isle of Man TT. One mistake at those speeds and they are dead. No ands, ifs, or buts. You misjudge by a fraction of an inch and you're into a stone wall that was built 100 yrs ago on a field at 200mph. ua-cam.com/video/31RZ5wU-Fg0/v-deo.html
Massive!!! Just such a beautiful day with the weather yesterday, I knew that there was going to be really clean big waves off of the different isles. The Eddie was nice that ot went yesterday, but with the super long period/ interval, and the Forcast models showing most of the swell energy passing by to the north of Hawaii it was not big in the morning, but it got bigger as predicted. Yet, it wasn't a constant huge Eddie with solid 20-25+ Hawaiian waves. WOW!!!! This is truly massive Peahi!! A lot of the maui boys were at the Eddie and of course it's such an honor to be invited etc., but these waves are so huge, and much bigger than Waimea was! Beautiful such nice weather, a d doesn't look like it got to windy yesterday off Maui @ jaws, so as it's so well known for, it really got a good amount of much bigger waves than Oahu and this is extremely massive Peahi!!! Looks like insane tow surfing and just a really special day for jaws!!!!!! Incredible!! Hope it wasn't too crowded cause it looked really huge, and way better than the previous days of big surf we've been getting!!! This is Giant, top to bottom and steep and epic looking Peahi!!! Beautiful and macking!!!! Definitely XXL size! Guys look so small compared to the waves!!! Stoked for the maui boys!!! gorgeous conditions and video!! Mahalo!!!
What about the party wave at 0:50? It seems like at this size you really don't want two people on a wave unless they're working together, like the Lenny brothers or Nate & Kai. It seems like the guy who had priority got hosed by the other guy, big time
Exactly my thought. Can someone knowledgeable help us understand what happened? Did the guy in front know the guy behind was there? If he did, why not give him more room?
Tow in mostly…has to be on these ocean BEASTS🔥 Eddie is paddle in and keeping the spirit and legacy of Eddie alive, not just for the legend but for what surfing and community are about. 🌸 Mad respect to all these chargers 🙌
No doubt incredible surfing, spectacular size and conditions. I’ve had the pleasure of watching the original tow-in crew back in the day. I’m still convinced that Laird had the best approach and style for that spot, not to mention Dave Kalama. But, nevertheless, bravo to those who took part.
When the ocean flexes XXL and those that say that the Eddie should be at Jaws……ughhh if you want a tow in sesh, nobody on earth can paddle into that. Eddie is perfect where it is.
The Eddie is NOT about surfing OTHER big waves around Hawaii (or the world)… The Eddie is about the man, his legendary life, the history of Hawaii big wave surfing (which began on Oahu)… and much more Hawaii surfing tradition. Jaws is Jaws. Beautiful. Monsterous. Otherworldly. Epic. But, The Eddie is The Eddie. Let not younger, ignorant generations disrespect that.
These guys are sick. I get 2nd hand adrenaline rushes watching this... just the eerie calmness of these walls coming at ya must be other worldly and the trashing around when caught in them .FAK...
A lot cleaner than was the Eddie event and only one person on a wave (mostly) here instead of the craziness at Waimea Bay, held in honor of Eddie Aikau who was a lifeguard at Waimea bay
Imagine 15+ years ago if it was this big and gnarly without the jet ski guys. I wonder if these guys would go out like the day after the contest if it was just as big. I'm sure they would if the conditions were good. Props to the old school greats of the past but these guys are all time greats of today, insane surfing.
High performance surfing in the largest of surf that could allow it. Greatest respect for all of whom chose to take off, and those prepared to assist and rescue. I can't understand why this and generally big wave surfing isn't the biggest spectacle recognizing the absolute highest level of athleticism on the planet. In my biased perspective, I'm still mystified that so many others don't see this. It's absolutely breathtaking, and just a stunning event to witness. Thank you for this remarkable video. C A
1:10 may be the wildest wipeout I’ve ever seen haha. Cartoonish amount of cartwheels 🥇
for sure...and then maybe over the falls and drilled? dang......
dude got hucked all over the place
aaaauuuttchch
Legend has it hes still getting beat down
just came to the comments after seeing that one to say holyfuckingshit . full on starfish
Thats got to be some of the biggest Jaws I’ve ever seen
Brah !! All of Ty Simpson Kane's rides were Next Level ! Gotta be Feeling 10 feet tall after a performance like that ! Respect to All Out there !
Fantastic footage, I’m living vicariously through these guys, they have balls of steel! Jaws was really rocking…

Ty was charging , he drew critical lines. He just seemed more comfortable setting himself up deeper than everyone else. Good on ya Bro!
Yep, Ty for 1st place!!
Best big wave spot 🔥🔥🔥
For me, bravest, guttsiest, most impressive thing man does on the planet. This is SERIOUS.
This is up there, but pales to Alex Honold free solo El Capitan

Incredible all round!! Thank you soo much for sharing :))))
Great video. Awesome clips! Mahalo 🤙🤙
Synching up the cymbal crash with the final wipe-out at 3:30 was brilliant. Well done!
Man oh man, that was incredible, obscene, ridiculous, unbelievable, heroic, madness, sickness and just wild!
Tell us what it was really like!
That whole edit was FIRE!!!!
nah, cut too many great runs too short. I thought it sucked.
@awboat ouucchhh
such a force of epic beauty and ferocity, Mahalos for this epic share!!! WAOH heavy!!!!
Just seeing the wave gives me the chills! Like dancing with a liquid avalanche! Mad respect 🤙
Liquid hurricane.
@ or that, either way it’s phuhking insane!

amazing rides, and some gnarly slams !! hope everyone is all good after that.

Kickass waves. Respect for the riders.
Major respect for guys paddling into those beasts!!!
All those guys in video were towed in, judging by the tiny boards, I think.

OMG that was so awesome!!!
Well that was insane 😮
It's hard to believe that the ocean can create such a massive, perfect barrelling wave. This has to be the 8th wonder of the world.
Makes the Eddie look small
It does.
This is certainly much juicier!
Would Eddie go? These are monsters!
@@randomdude7200 fuck no
Yep, and waimea is so boring to watch
Massive Jaws! That chattering wind chop looked tough to navigate too!
Great footage DMarx. Getting shacked!!
Ty Simpson Kane taking it next level!! heaviest slam then back at it dominating, mega beast mode!!
Ty Simpson Kane ride starting @ 1:04 was Wicked !
Sweet waves! Some insane wipeouts.
So much more impressive than Waimea bay
Way bigger and cleaner
This monster actually barrels and spits. It commands respect. No disrespect to Waimea, but Pe’ahi is incredible!
Waimea is just famous for being the first big wave to be surfed
Absolute Perfection!
How many Walsh’s were out there?
I hold my breath just watching like that’s going to help 🤣

OMG that wipeout at 1:11 is insane. That might be a world record for cartwheels per wave.
Great edit
O M G ! ! ! That was completely insane Jaws. All time. 🤯🤯🤯
Ty Simpson Kane for worse wipeout in the history of Surfing at 1:05
Fr. Agreed.
OK, who added this soundtrack. Well done, my friend.
It's just a brilliant work done! :)
Wish I knew who it was

OK, am I a rookie, or are those faces 40 foot plus? Ty Simpson, great job.
Fanatastic epic footage. Brilliant editing. Pity about the 1960s brain dead screaming rock music. Killed it a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

That double cartwheel on the face of the wave got Ty on international mainstream news. Good for him he came out fresh.
Did a jet ski ended up on the rocks yesterday (Dec 22, 24) at Peahi?
Eddie Event is cool but Jaws beat the size for sure
Those waves are HUGE!
Epic 🏄♀️
Awesome, Peahi firing!
This needs to be set to 'Ocean Size' or 'my wave'! Was trying to do it in a clip or remix...

What’s the technique for surviving a wipeout in these conditions? I would die.
Think positive and nature gives the world what we desire ❤🌊
Beautiful 😍
Watch out for these young upcoming Maui boys... Mento🔥
CRAZY !!! ♥♥♥ HAWAII LOVE ♥♥♥
Holy Shit, 3:18 he's trying to drop in, and the wave is going faster than he is. He's getting higher up the face the whole time.
these waves were gnarlier than the actual eddie
They should run the Eddie at peahi. Waimea is boring to watch..
That's crazy.. anyone know who the song is by?
Outrageous
This is huge
Everything ok with Ty Simpson?
Well he was on the later monster drop so presumably!!! balls of steel that lad...

Hows the drop on Ty Simpson Kane's wave at 3.00!!! Holy shit and I pull back on four footers ha ha
Insane. 2x insane to go backside.

If you think about it, only a tiny percentage of the world's population has ever even seen surfing, at all.
It's not surfing when you tow in
it's kooks waterskiing and polluting the Sea on their seaDOOS
Best Waimea Bay footage I have ever seen.
Can these tow guys just pull in what a fuckery these guys are making out there
2:59 the bomb
Insane
