Here's my gripe about modern music: early electric songs like 'Castle in the Sky - DJ Satomi' were so simple and upbeat, it's a charm to listen to that doesn't grow stale after repeated listening. Modern songs tap into the pop ideology of milking whatever's popular, either unintentionally via growing up in an environment where your favourite musicians released uninspired slop, or going for the biggest audience to provide a living. I've explored old music from smaller artists that sound far better than the top artists dishing out the same tired formula, yet they get millions in views. I strongly regard the 2010s as my favourite decade, I was a teen thriving in the growing electric music genre. Nowadays, electric music just doesn't hit the spark it used to, it's more pop nowadays.
I'm a composer and it's worse than you'd think, popular artists drop albums that are "Slop" in nature, basically just catering to what people get addicted to and is also essentially a waste of time, we're basically being served fast food every time, there's no soul remaining in top artists, as soul does not sell no longer. UA-cam looked and operated much, much different than what it did now, and I have good and bad memories with it and other websites. Just listening to this playlist, as cliché as it sounds, hits me with a wave of nostalgia that makes me long for the times when I was still a kid who had no idea how screwed up things could be and I could just have fun and goof off with the internet and video games without having to worry about adult stuff. If there's any advice I could give to today's youth, it would be: Enjoy being a kid. Don't rush it and wish you could become an adult like I did. When your childhood and innocence are gone, they're gone. And after a few years or even months into adulthood, you'll wish you had all of it back. Anywho, I think I've droned on long enough. Love the playlist! Keep up the good work. ^_^
Started in 2011, when I was only like 4 or something. Back then my favourite videos were the Lego SFMs that Lego themselves made (don't know if others remember those little Lego City shorts). I used to watch it on my Blackberry tablet, that happened to be loaded with Angry Birds, Temple Run, Subway Surfers, all the best mobile games of the late 2000s early 2010s.
I've probably been watching UA-cam on and off since at least it's first or second year in existence, which would be 2006-2007. I've been here since the beginning essentially, or at least the early era of the site, back when everything was still Flash-based.
@sanderhackerhd8369 between Dreamscape, Born To Be Wasted and With a Spirit, I probably heard With a Spirit more in all the MW2 glitch tutorial videos I watched as a kid.
I didn't realize how deep my memories ran until "Born to be Wasted" came on. I was brought right back to my old bedroom, on cold winter nights, struggling in school, trying to meet everyone's expectations but my own. I remember how alone I was. I remember the way she broke my heart. I still feel that pain. I told myself back then that it would go away in time. It did, to some degree. But it's still there, all these years later, deep down. But now I look to my right, where the love of my life is sleeping with our two cats cuddled up while I write out a D&D campaign for my friends at 4am and I realize... I made it through those days. I came out the other side alright. A bit heavier and with a bit less hair, but overall I think I did alright. I wish I could go back and tell that kid sitting in his room with this song playing on repeat on a burned CD mixtape that it's gonna be alright. He'll find real love. He won't be lonely much longer. He'll get through school, he'll make real friends. He'll get a job that matters. People say time travel doesn't exist, but when you hear a song you forgot, it's amazing how quickly you can return to the past...
This is proof that more and more people are missing late 00s - early 10s internet. Music, pop culture, and life in general was so much better compared to now. Where did we go wrong? 😔
Man... I truly miss the old internet. Playing old Roblox, back when tix were a thing and there were no overcomplicated stuff or brainrot. Thank you for this video.

GTA Myths and Legends, Club Penguin, TobyGames, PewDiePie Amnesia & Happy Wheels, Smosh, Smosh's Food Battle series, Pop music being almost Pop/Rap/Dance hybrids on the radio. I could go on.

Hey, cmon now, don't be a doomer like that, it may be tough now, but all bad times come to an end, just like good ones, thats the benefit of nothing being permanent
Life will never be as good as back then because it will be even better! Have hope; this world has the potential to be a Frutiger Aero utopia yet! We just forgot that the magic and beauty of technology is more important than making as much money with it as possible, but we'll remember. We have to remember, or kill ourselves in our greed. And death is so much a stronger motivator than money.

When your childhood and innocence are gone, they're gone. And after a few years or even months into adulthood, you'll wish you had all of it back. Anywho, I think I've droned on long enough. Love the playlist! Keep up the good work. ^_^
So glad that I had the opportunity to live those years as a teenager. Good memories.
I was born too late in mid-late 00s but at least there is youtube.
bro I've been watching youtube since '09... I miss old youtube.
UA-cam picked up that I have a 2006-2012 youtube nostalgia playlist and recommended me this. Good stuff !
Didn't think I'd hear a Cascada song without trying to search in 2024. And it's nightcore, too. Color me impressed.
Stop by Ghost K brought back a few good memories of mine.
I miss that era of the internet 😢
7:43 truly 2000s vibes
indeed it is ^_^
The blue background with the blurry white text… 🥹
Peak internet
We didn’t know…
(looks at hands)
We didn’t know how good we had it…
Instantly clicked when I heard With a Spirit.
The official OG UA-cam Anthem
It's Dreamscape
That's a very deep story a lot of people can empathize with. I'm happy for you.
Me at 27 reading this and still having not achieved any of that: 💀
This is proof that more and more people are missing late 00s - early 10s internet. Music, pop culture, and life in general was so much better compared to now.
Where did we go wrong? 😔
@@NostalgiCrazy kinda agree.
i miss this era sm
Videos back then were so much more genuine. UA-cam Kids wasn't even a thing.
And It wasnt marketing for goddamn kids not even turn off the comments.
7:56 it's crazy house iconic this song is now... To them back in that day it was just another good beat song 😄 they had no idea...
I was just thinking the other day we needed to bring this back again.
I’m here before this blows up in the future.
Man... I truly miss the old internet. Playing old Roblox, back when tix were a thing and there were no overcomplicated stuff or brainrot. Thank you for this video.
bodies still has one of the rawest screams in the entire nu metal genre
im not crying
you are
I only recognize a few of the songs on this playlist, but even those made me remember my early days of watching youtube. Back then, all i watched was lego videos and marvel cartoon amvs
GTA Myths and Legends, Club Penguin, TobyGames, PewDiePie Amnesia & Happy Wheels, Smosh, Smosh's Food Battle series, Pop music being almost Pop/Rap/Dance hybrids on the radio.
I could go on.
Childhood activated.
this feels targeted, thank you recommended. i feel old phrasing it like this but this does bring me back to so many memories when i first roamed this site. thank you so much for letting a bunch of us relive all of this
The algorithm knows what I like.
вы заковали моё сердце в цепи после обложки с Леоном..... я обожаю это.
I feel at peace once more.
An "Old UA-cam Era" playlist is something I didn't expect, but definitely needed now that 2024 is almost over
vaya si que olvide bastante ,este video me los iso recordar
Oh man, my heart's gonna bleed from nostalgia! Great times were, but they're gone.. but stayed in our minds and hearts!
Life was better
Life will never be as good as it once was back then
Hey, cmon now, don't be a doomer like that, it may be tough now, but all bad times come to an end, just like good ones, thats the benefit of nothing being permanent
this is a very unhealthy mindset
Smile because it happened
Life will never be as good as back then because it will be even better! Have hope; this world has the potential to be a Frutiger Aero utopia yet! We just forgot that the magic and beauty of technology is more important than making as much money with it as possible, but we'll remember. We have to remember, or kill ourselves in our greed. And death is so much a stronger motivator than money.
@@hal5474 The positive things that happened are The Hague banning fossil fuel ads, Britain shutting down its last coal plant, 6 new bee species have been discovered, California suing ExxonMobil and more.
I'm glad that i lived through these times. The golden era of internet. I wish we had it again
For me it's the first gaming session of Need for speed underground 2 in 2009-2010.
back to the time when all was simple, wild and fun
I miss the old internet, man, it was simple and shiny, and shame on some people who thinks new internet is "way better"
I've never met anyone who thinks the modern Internet is better
@@hal5474 Well for some reason, I had a secret DeviantArt account, but why DA?
I used to post a picture between old year and new year which shows old memes and pride month flags (just so I hate new one) and people were insanely offended by that, and they just didn't like it, they went confronting me weirdly over that. It happened in early 2023 so I deleted my acc for good in early 2024.
But it's good to see people who loves old internet on this site
There are SOME upsides. Better speeds, and downloading files isn't a game of russian roulette anymore, which is nice. You can also find **ANYTHING** you want now, which just wasn't possible then because half of it didn't even exist online.
But the added security tradeoffs took everything else :(
I grew up with 2008+ internet and it’s easy to not be blinded by nostalgia and admit the new internet is better
@@hal5474 For some reason, I had a secret DA account, so why DA?
Bc I went to post picture shows "kids then kids now" and people did not liked it, they even did not listen at my desc at all so it happened in early 2023 till I delete my acc on early 2024 for good reasons
I have no nostalgia from this time but I love listening to 2000s music
Man i miss those middle school days full of browser games, half life, starcraft, Halo, dota, minecraft and many others.
Awesome compilation bro, sub and rate 5 stars.
I've been looking for these songs for so long. Thank you for uploading them.
Im probably younger than most people watching this but i am still old enough to remember when youtube wasn’t all everyone making the same slop content or doom posting
Wow! You even used the blue background with white text like what people did years ago. You knew what you were doing! Bravo!
Take me back....
I, I want to go, I’ve got to run has been living in my head rent free for all this time
I can’t wait for media to move on from glamourising the 80s for nostalgia to the 00s.
Holy shit ! It’s legit been more than 15 years since I’ve heard Stop by Ghost K. A ton of memories just rushed in, when I was making shitty Need for Speed videos in 2009 and exploring the audio swap library. Thank you so much for putting this together, everyone knows about 009 sound system but now we’re finally digging a bit deeper. ❤❤❤❤
Also, if you have a « favorites » playlists (no idea if it’s still a thing nowadays ?) and it has like 4000 videos in it, be aware you can sort by date of upload or date of addition to the playlist. I was able to basically go through my very old stuff without scrolling and found some real gems in there 🎉
i've seen lots of 'growing up in the late 2000s-early 2010s' starter packs and none of them seem to have object shows like bfdi and inanimate insanity in them, which is a real shame because i love object shows and i'm sure there are lots of people who grew up with them like me
I had no idea of these. It's probably something specific for the childhood of United States people as far as I have searched, but you obviously know more than me and you can make an assumption on why they do not have those
You nailed the intro well. I immediately felt the nostalgia from the font and background alone 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
009 sound system and youtube tutorials (144p quality)
the memories :)
Oh my god… I remember every one of these and hearing Ghost K was such a nostalgia burst.
Core memory unlocked these are the music when you're trying to learn how to install stuff
I miss the old UA-cam, what a memorable time...
Generations today won’t feel the same magic, what those wild times on UA-cam brought to us back then…
I want to cry of happiness bro
It'll never be like this again.
Epic playlist btw
These were the days!
Just needs the 'Unregistered HyperCam 2' stamp in the top corner of the video.
You have the www.Bandicam.com instead :)
I just turned 20, however I remember those times since I was on UA-cam back then and my sister used to listen this type of music, why music is no longer like this? :(
This is beautiful. I’m in tears and miss the old UA-cam so much 😔
this video feels safe, comforting, and accurate asf
I'm gonna go cry now, see ya.
You made a grown ass man cry today, thank you for doing god's word by making this music time-capsule 😢
Thank you soldier, your service is appreciated and hopefully won't gone unnoticed by algorithm.
i been feelin like muck but this brings me up
Blank - Disfigure was made in 2013, so I'd say 2008 - 2013 playlist :)
