@@matthewrichards88 I just heard it. Probably one of the most surreal things ever. What it will be next ? A record, made from an X-ray, like the ones from the former Soviet Union? The ideas about a recording medium are endless.
@@zoey_cairns I used a Gakken Toy Record Maker made in Japan. They're available on eBay, and come with blank 5 inch discs. It comes in kit form but definitely check it out!
Another YT video claimed that Gakken cut records sound much worse on other turntables. But you’re doing it so it might not be the case? Do you have any recording or playback tips you’d like to share?
@kevinnorth1224 when recording on the Gakken I created an EQ curve where the high frequencies are boosted and the lower frequencies are lowered. This will make it sound better on other turntables.
I'm curious how many generations of loss we're at with this
We just need the master tapes and we're golden
Someone will probably make a video of an Edison phonograph, playing FEX - Subways of Your Mind.
@@professionalvr I can do this! On my channel I have done wax cylinder recordings. Watch this space.....
Your wish is granted a lo fi version on wax cylinder I just uploaded

@professionalvr I find it mind-blowing as well. That would be really cool to hear it on an X-ray record!
Why do I love this so much? 😅 Newest viral hit is a 41 year old New Wave song…something about this just feels soooooo right right now 😅😍🥰❤️
Their album has been finally released
Серьёзно? Его можно как-то купить?😮
You're not ready for this, but your kids will love it...
Oh that's pretty cool! 👍
you could even say it's FLY
Nice.
Tefifon cart next? 😉
This is so cool!
Brilliant
This is super neat lol
...Also, you mean Fex, right?
Lol thanks! Just changed it mu autocorrect :)
How did you make the vinyl? What is your cutting machine? This is interesting!
This was cut on a Japanese DIY toy record cutter called the Gakken Toy record maker. Theyre available on ebay and a really fun device.
Awesome dude, I've always wanted a record cutter

@@Azpilzi hello there :)
How in the world do you even make a bootleg vinyl??
@@superradness this was made on a cheap DIY kit you can buy from Japan called the Gakken Record Maker
In the 1940's there were a handful of home record cutting machines. I have a basket case of a Detrola model 433 as an example of one.
@@souta95 incredible. I wish I could find a vintage record cutter. I would love to experiment with one.
What about a Roentgenizdat?
@@ekathe85 that would be really cool!
