- Hi everyone! I am always in thrift shops looking for high end home decor dupes on a budget. In this video I show you how I made a popular antique style skinny bench imitating ones you see at McGee & Co, Pottery Barn, and on Etsy for a WHOLE lot less money, using just two pieces of wood and no fancy tools like a miter saw or pocket hole jig. This is easy and fast and can easily be done in one weekend or even one day. Join me for this high end vintage style dupe!

I bought an antique French shoemaker’s bench and paid a ridiculous amount for it. This bench looks just like it. WISH I’d had this video 2 years ago. Super nice DIY!
Darn! Well I wish I'd done it two years ago as well because I love how it looks in there ☺️
Great job!! Can't beat the price either. And I love your cute little red sundress with the bow in the front.
Thank you!! ☺️ That dress is from Banana Republic (but I found it at Goodwill!)
Loved it. Never knew it's so easy to make this beautiful vintage bench. ❤
Absolutely gorgeous...so high end looking...thank you for talking us through it❤❤❤❤. Thank you Tasha's husband for helping!!!
You are so welcome! 😄 It was fun. I'd like to make another 🤩
It looks amazing. I can even see it outside with potted plants on it.
Thanks! I plan to make another one from the remnant piece of the 2x6 (seat) which is 3 ft long for a plant stand by my living room windows. :)
Oh please stop….every time I watch one of your videos you put me to work🤣🤣🤣🤣. Last time it was the tree…. now I have to make this bench!
Tasha, It turned out so great, and looks beautiful at the foot of your bed❤️.
Haha 😂 Did you already make the tree?? How did you like it? I can't apologize --i think the bench is well worth the work 😉
@@TashaatHome I did make it, and one of our daughters stole it already🤣. My husband bought me all the tools I wanted for my last birthday….so I have no excuse not to make the bench…I guess our other daughter will take that one, unless I change the locks on our house😂🤪. Keep them coming you really are inspiring ❤️.
Thanks for including the measurements and cuts, that’s so helpful!
Looks gorgeous🤩U picked the right stain👍👍🙏Just a tip,you might get more stain in the crevices if you use a rounded big paint brush❤
Wow, have always wanted one, but can’t afford it. Now, I can make my own, thanks to you! Yours turned out amazing ❤
You can totally do it! And the nice thing is they look good in just about any stain or wax you choose 🤩
Love, love, love the bench!
This is fantastic!!! I have been looking at these and really never thought about doing it myself. Thank you, thank you for showing this to us and how easy it can be accomplished. I'm headed to Lowe's for supplies. Love it.
Woohoo!!! 🎉
Good job Tasha!
Great project!
It turned out perfect! If I make one I think I will do the same techniques to “age” the pieces before I put the legs on.
Absolutely. If I were doing it over I might distress them separately then put them on as well, although either works.
Tasha this turned out beautiful ❤
Looks perfect styled in your bedroom!
Thank you so much 😀 I love it in there! I plan to make a smaller one as a plant bench with the remnant of the 2x6 (3 ft left over--perfect!)
Love this

Aww you should be proud of your bench! It’s looks great!
Thank you!! ☺️
Excellent
soooo beautiful!!
Thank you!!
That looks great. I’m going to look into making one for my house. I have a cedar chest at the end of my bed. But, I have a long wide hallway I could put it in. Or I want to rearrange my bedroom. And I have a lot of plants. They will need somewhere to go. That would be perfect. I will definitely be making one.
Yes! A hallway would be fantastic for this as well! I think I'm also going to make a plant stand for downstairs out of the left over portion of the 2x6 I used for the seat.
This is awesome , you inspired me to try it !!!
I'm so glad! Let me know if you do ☺️
Beautiful ❤️ and inspired 🌞

Great Job 👏🏼 🙌🏼!!
Thank you!! 😁
My first time watching, but intend to sub, simply because of the way you suggested remembering the 15°angle.I’ve consider building a skinny bench but was afraid of the angles-that’s no more. Many thanks!
Thank you, glad to have you here! That is definitely the way my mind works haha so I figured I would share 😋 I hope you enjoy making yours!
Great job
Thank you!!!
Great job Tasha. It's beautiful. I have a bench from Target i picked up at Goodwill. I may have to get my hammer and stain out after eatching this. I love it
Oooh, sounds promising! Thank you ☺️
I love it! I can't believe how nice all that beating made it look! And only 10 bucks!!!!!!
Right?! I love it!
It’s lovely!🤎🫶🏻
Thank you Sarah! ☺️
Hi Tasha You are amazing. That bench looks as good ..or really better than the expensive ones. It just adds so much to your bedroom. It was interesting how you kept adding the distressing and it it so perfectly done. That dress is so cute. You look beautiful. Thanks to your husband for helping some. ❤❤❤❤
Thanks for the kind words! 😊 I agree it adds a lot to the room. I have had various baskets sitting there before but this has a much bigger impact. And I think I'll make a second smaller one out of the remnant 3ft piece of 2x6 to use in the living room as a plant stand 🤩 Thank you as always!
So fun! ❤ Our bedroom set is mcm, now I’m wondering how to make a skinny mcm bench for our room 😜
Great idea!! Hmm...I'm not sure but I bet looking at some images online will inspire something for you. Let me know if you give it a try! All I can think is either angled tapered legs or that sort of woven leather seat (which would be cool!)
Tasha, I feel so inspired to have my husband make me one! 😆 Hey, he’s the one that wants to buy cool tools just to own them…this will make him feel important! 😘 Yours turned out perfect! 🙌
😂 haha, fantastic! Sounds like just the project for him!
Good job 👍🏽👍🏽👏🏽❤
Thank you! 🤗 I'm loving it!
Awesome 🏆💕
Thanks 🤗
Sometimes yt get it right through recommendation. Subbed for sure! Love the bench😊
Awesome! Thank you!
Genius 😘
Thank you!!
I think I would’ve distress the wood before putting it together. But you helped us learn how to make a bench.
Yes, I would do it that way too if I was doing it again!
Wow, very nice! You didn’t mention or show distressing the legs, but you must have!
I did! I edited the footage heavily and think I edited the legs right out 😂
Amazing diy. I from India
👋🏼 Thank you very much! 😊
❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤
✨✨✨
I like it , And it’s easy to make it
I want to make one for myself . Question that , I have a king size bed now its new but I buy a bed comforter with everything and when I put it on its like short and I returned but I don’t know what to buy can you help me with the sizes?
Thanks! And yes if you're finding regular king sized comforters too short on your bed I'd buy one that is marked as "oversized." Regular king is 120x120 but I'd buy one at 128x120 which will give you extra on the sides. Some are even 132 x 120 which is even bigger. This one is an example of an "oversized" one I found on Amazon that I think looks nice :) amzn.to/43BMFmP
@@TashaatHome thank you so much I really appreciate it, thanks for share the DIY
