Claire, I'd do two sided pendants. Put two pieces of washi tape back to back and cut your circle. Then both sides have a design. You could do same or different designs of tape. You could do one side with inclusions, too. Leave the other plain. I love this idea and I'm looking forward to trying it.
Great idea! Also, i think the joy of open bezels is the see through ability, getting that light to move through the design. If you want to do full coverage washi tape (which is so pretty in this video!) maybe just a standard bezel with a back would be a good option for this style? But i also really like the two sided suggestion. Then its like a 2 in 1 necklace!
Hi Claire, I color my UV resin all the time. It works great. I also flip my tape over and cure the bottom for a minute. Glitter works great, too. And, looks really pretty! A circle punch would be a lot quicker than cutting. 😊
Love the cacti in space! 😊 This is when the gel polish comes in handy! I “cheat” with it all the time. You can do your initial layer of UV resin, and then paint it with the polish (cure that). It leaves a tacky layer which the washi tape will stick to really well. Then you can dome as usual!
Hi Claire! I would look for a circle punch the same size as your bezels. (Temu has punches. wink wink 😜) That way whatever you decide to put in there, whether it’s washi tape, pretty card stock or fancy tissue paper, etc, your circles will always be the same size. And then like a previous commenter said you could put two circles back to back, dome both sides and make double sided pendants!
I would try coloring the UV resin for the first application maybe even add glitter so its pretty on the back as well and if there are gaps then the glitter will sparkle through the front also
Hi Claire, well you'll probably guess what I would do...add glitter on the back and dome 😅 I have a glitter called celestial sky which is a mix I made myself, and it would look awesome on the back of the blue ones!! (Let me know if you'd like some and I'll get it posted 😇) I have to say I absolutely love these! I'm the opposite and uv is where I started 3+ years ago, but after about 6 months I started wanting to make bigger projects so switched to epoxy...I think these videos are fantastic, both for newbies and for the likes of myself because I'd forgotten just how fun uv resin and bezels are! I used to spend hours just playing around with different inclusions and designs and would lose myself in creativity, which is so good for the soul! So I'm thrilled you've found a new obsession and that you've shared it with us all 🥰 thank you!! Xx
Hi Isabella, is that a question for me or Claire? ✨️ My input would be that with UV resin, my personal preference is a higher viscosity because it's thicker, and when it comes to glitter vs resin, the thicker the better. Plus for working with bezels especially, I feel I have more control with a higher viscosity because it stays where you put it for longer 😅 so it's less likely to spill over while you're grabbing the UV light. But with all things resin, I think personal preference comes into it a lot, my advice would always be to experiment, buy small bottles first and see which you prefer working with 😊 Are you based in the UK?
@@yvonnebishopglitterqueen How thoughtful of you to answer my question, and offer advice. I live in US… Id love to be among others who enjoy this art medium & others, as well.
I would do a thin layer of coloured resin or probably glitter / mica. You could also drop some black alcohol ink which dries faster than acrylic and no brush marks and then top coat. When using mica I always use a cocktail stick to create a swirl pattern so it looks better. I’m interested to see your resin tape is shiny on the glued side. Mine (Amazon) has always been matt so I have to do a top coat. Love your results 😊
I've done a few open bezels with a glitter or cellphone back . I have also painted the back and domed it. I also used gilding foul on the back and then just a light coat over that. I also made one that I put the pattern/washi tape back to back in the middle so that the design shows at all angles. You could also personalize the back with a name, initials, or phrase. There are sooo many things you can do with open bezels that I didn't even think of until just now! Claire....you have an amazing effect on everyone's creativity when you share your own! You are more amazing than you know!!!✨🌵❤️
I love these! ❤❤❤ I would suggest cutting your circles with a SIZZIX. On The back of the first blue bezels, I would either use a Gold marker to make a 1/4 inch (6mm) border around the bezel before applying UV resin Or use blue transparent UV resin on the entire surface. Let’s Resin makes beautiful transparent UV Resins.
Put a piece of paper or card stock on both ends of your tape so you can move it around and it won’t stick to your fingers. Little tip! Also - once you take a bezel off the tape, fold that pice of tape over on itself that way you have less stickiness when removing the bezels. Great video - thank you!!
I ordered some of the PET tape from Washi Tape Store after your first video with them. LOVE it and customers are loving them on everything I use them for. These bezels came out beautiful.
I use uv nail gel on my backs and for where I want opaque color. Fabulous pieces. UV does make quick work of creating. . I use polymer clay in open bezels and regular bezels with uv as well. Hope to be able to be here for the chat again soon. I miss everyone.
Love, love, love!! 💜 I'd either do double sided tape or cure the uv, add black paint, then tape and finally dome. The thick edge of the bezel should hold it all together. You could also dome the back after painting it black but then it might not stick to the paint and fall off.
Hiya Claire 👋🏼 I colour my UV with a small amount of black, alllllll the time. It's harder to penetrate both sides. Just turn your tape round and seal again. Thank god It's not 24 hours, lol. You could colour with any colour obviously, but these would suit black, have an amazing time at Makers Central. I'd love to come along, but im a shy guy 😅 can't wait to see the exciting future videos inspired by your trip, though. ❤ xxx
Absolutely gorgeous Claire. You and Wendy have a wonderful funtastic time on the weekend ❤ So looking forward to Saturday's video. A million warm hugs ❤
You've got it! Your first layer of resin - use epoxy resin so that you can make it black. Another option I've tried is to paint the back, then dome with UV. Your clear bezels will look even better if you dome both sides.
This is a great idea to try. I will try to put black layer first under the tape, maybe it will hide the unperfected cutting of the circle. thank you for the continuous inspiration
Adorabubble bezels, Claire! I definitely remember that washi tape haul! Those PET tapes are just gorgeous! I can see you making some gorgeous composite, chuck-it-all-in, teeny-tiny pictures! 😁 Yes, just fill in with black anything! Black gel nail polish works great, too! Just use clear UV for the back, then top with the UV gel polish. I SO wish I could fly over and meet you and Wendy!
I absolutely love these Washi Tape, they are right up my alley! I think I would put a matching color on back if you have a color to match. If not Black Resin would look great too, even a white. IF I did white I'd put iridescent glitter in it to give more interest, actually that could be done with other color (colours) as well.
If your sticker is slightly too small what i would do is add a frw drops of a very dark( but still translucent) color to the center and then add your clear dome. The clear pushes the color to the edge in a really pretty soft frame. I do this all the time for a dark and moody effect. The only thing you'd have to test is to make sure the color won't stain the tape.
I think the blemish in one of the pendants is from trying to cure too much UV resin in one go. Also, I would cover the back with glitter or different washi tape and dome. These look fantastic!
I did an Amazon search a couple of years ago for" thick bezels". I figured it'd be easy to make multiple layers like a mini shadow box. I'd be very tempted to make another design on the back, but you could also use black nail gel on the backs.❤❤❤
IMO, If you're going to black out the back or a do a block of anything really, then you might as well use a closed bezel cup. The beauty of open is that you can see through, so works well for inclusions like the cogs or flowers or whatever but you can still see through.
Hi Claire thank you for your time and company :) have you tried folding the washi tape on itself then using a 1 inch hole punch cut out the double sided tape and place into open bezels after the first uv resin is cured ??? hope it helps :)
Paint the backs using Arteza's iridescent black. They do two - a gold and blue shimmer. They look horrible boring matt black until covered with resin and then WOW!
If you don't want to make them double sided, you should use a colour that will match the washi. I did not see any links for open bezels like the ones you are using. What is their diameter?
Is there any way to put a sticky surface on your first UV resin layer, the take 2 pieces of square washi tape with their backs stuck together and lay them onto that sticky surface. Cut away excess as you did the last few bezels, and the final layer of UV resin. I have NO IDEA what you could use for the sticky stuff though, I'm leave that to the experts
I do have a stupid question, why does the blue from the sticky tape stay stuck to my resin???? Yours peels off so nice and clean. Mine came with my first UV resin jewelry kit and leaves the yucky blue film. I am trying to get rid of it with goo gone. Killing my fun vibe. Thoughts?
Heyyyy Dawn - have you tried curing both sides of the UV resin ? like turn it upside down to cure the bottom once the top is cured? My guess is it could be this - This, or the tape is not doing what it is designed to do due to quality of tape xxx
Why don’t you mix some black mica with uv resin for the first pour? They look awesome though. I think the one with cogs and a key might be my favourite. See you Friday two more sleeps xx
Every time I watch one of your videos, I get more ideas….big trouble! I went yesterday and bought some polymer clay from your previous video. Now, are your round bezels 25mm? Thank you!! 😍. P. P. S. You could color your first coat of resin.
Can someone tell why my washi tape is lifting off my wood blanks when I top them with resin. I’ve tried mod pods . I even put washi tape on already made resin pieces and then to the tape lifted off when the top coat is put under the uv lamp. Any help is appreciated I’m very frustrated.
So, what I would do in this situation, would be put the U.V. on like you did, and go over it with black nail polish. THEN apply the washy tape and U.V. dome.

Exactly what I thought!

Exactly what I was thinking myself.
That's what I was going to say! Great minds.. xxx

Seconded! If these are the same bezels I've used in the past, a 1" punch should be bang on, size-wise.
I would try coloring the UV resin for the first application maybe even add glitter so its pretty on the back as well and if there are gaps then the glitter will sparkle through the front also
Can finish the back by painting with UV nail polish! LOVE this!!!
Hi Claire, well you'll probably guess what I would do...add glitter on the back and dome 😅 I have a glitter called celestial sky which is a mix I made myself, and it would look awesome on the back of the blue ones!! (Let me know if you'd like some and I'll get it posted 😇)

I’d love to see those. My question is: What’s the best type of UV resins to use; high, low viscosity, etc?
Hi Isabella, is that a question for me or Claire? ✨️ My input would be that with UV resin, my personal preference is a higher viscosity because it's thicker, and when it comes to glitter vs resin, the thicker the better. Gorgeous - love watching the process and especially the results!

How would you do initials or names? Like paint it with the gel polish? Or some kind of acrylic pen??
@@rosedolch8637 I think that would depend on if you have a Cricket or not. I think I would like initials printed on vinyl.
Hi Claire. These are all super stunning. And you make it look so easy. I am going to get some UV resin for sure. Take care. 😊
I have a ton of washi. I've been wanting to get into resin. Now I know how to use my washi collection. I love this video.
I love these! ❤❤❤ I would suggest cutting your circles with a SIZZIX. Amazing work again Claire🤩...Love them all 🥰
These are amazing Claire love them ❤❤
I, too am behind beveling. And, they’re one of the easier pieces to do…. Look forward to getting into them.
I ordered some of the PET tape from Washi Tape Store after your first video with them. LOVE it and customers are loving them on everything I use them for. These bezels came out beautiful.
Hi Claire, Thank you for sharing a lovely video with some really lovely ideas ❤️👍 ……… Hope you & Wendy, have a really super duper time at the show 👍
I use uv nail gel on my backs and for where I want opaque color. Fabulous pieces. UV does make quick work of creating. . I use polymer clay in open bezels and regular bezels with uv as well. Hope to be able to be here for the chat again soon. I miss everyone.
Do you bake the clay in the bezel Catherine?
@@99999Kirsty Sometimes. It depends on what I am making, but most things I create separately and put them together to finish.
Beautiful. For the back how about a light colored glitter and a few gems.
I need to do this with the transparent tapes…those florals!!! Yaaas!!!
Love, love, love!! 💜 I'd either do double sided tape or cure the uv, add black paint, then tape and finally dome. The thick edge of the bezel should hold it all together. You could also dome the back after painting it black but then it might not stick to the paint and fall off.
I would've used black resin as my 1st layer and went from there!! Love it!
Hiya Claire 👋🏼 I colour my UV with a small amount of black, alllllll the time. It's harder to penetrate both sides. Just turn your tape round and seal again. Thank god It's not 24 hours, lol. Claire, put black glitter into first layer of resin. Glitz it up.
Absolutely gorgeous Claire. You and Wendy have a wonderful funtastic time on the weekend ❤ So looking forward to Saturday's video. A million warm hugs ❤
I believe there is a washi tape setting on the cricut to cut out designs on the washi tape. Oh the possibilities ❤
Claire cut out cardstock in your color of choice on your cricut to size needed put on back and dome with UVResin
These turned out beautifully! Now I think I need to go buy some wide washi tape! Your method worked so well!
Great job Claire! I’m here for your excitement. 💚
They are awesome. Love the constellations. ❤
I use cheap black nail polish….. Love the way these turned out!!!
I'd either make it double sided or gold back so it elevates the front. I'm not sure black would look great but art is subjective. Lovely job.
I do the washi tape double sided. I also find cut once in the bezel so much easier. Great then for any shape bezel.
I just started using silver clay and omg you should try it!!! It’s not cheap but when you get the hang of it, it’s like magic!!!!
Love these!! They are all so beautiful!
Adorabubble bezels, Claire! I definitely remember that washi tape haul! Those PET tapes are just gorgeous! I can see you making some gorgeous composite, chuck-it-all-in, teeny-tiny pictures! 😁
Yes, just fill in with black anything! Black gel nail polish works great, too! Just use clear UV for the back, then top with the UV gel polish.
I SO wish I could fly over and meet you and Wendy!
I love all your work. Thank you.❤

Love them all 😊 enjoy makers central. Slightly miffed I’m not gonna make it. But enjoy. We want pictures and videos 👍🏼
Hi Claire
Another idea would be to colour the back with a gold chrome marker and the a level coat of UV 😊
Those are really amazing! I especially love the cacti!
Hi Claire. Try cutting the circles out on a Cricut. Hope you have a good weekend at the makers market xx
Hi y'all! Great vid Claire! I used your discount at the washi tape store! TY for that.
Glitter works great for filling in gaps. All of these are amazing! Enjoy trip and say Hi to Wendy!
I think the blemish in one of the pendants is from trying to cure too much UV resin in one go. Also, I would cover the back with glitter or different washi tape and dome. These look fantastic!
I would maybe paint the backs gold with a liquid paint pen?
Very pretty love the star theme.

Love your steampunk pendant it came out great!
Cheap nail polish is what I use black glitter any colour you can get let dry then dome.
You could also use small tattoos in the bezels as well as the clear plastic images or stickers.
I would color the resin with navy, or gold, and then cover the back.
Hi Claire love how the resin made the tape pop 😍 great video, they are so beautiful 😍 thanks for sharing ❤❤❤ xxx
love them all , great work as always :)
Glitter mixed UV resin for the backs!
Can you find a round big hole cutter close to the same size as the bezel?
IMO, If you're going to black out the back or a do a block of anything really, then you might as well use a closed bezel cup. The beauty of open is that you can see through, so works well for inclusions like the cogs or flowers or whatever but you can still see through.
Claire, these are so cool! I am so sorry I missed the live chat for this video. Black nail polish on the back is what i would do to cover the white. ❤
Just used the open bezels, and I did put UV resin on both sides to make it reversible.
Hi Claire, have you thought about using your cricut to cut the shapes for the bezels? X
Can't find any large circle bezels on Temu anymore, not even listed as out of stock!
Hi Claire thank you for your time and company :) have you tried folding the washi tape on itself then using a 1 inch hole punch cut out the double sided tape and place into open bezels after the first uv resin is cured ??? hope it helps :)
I'd most likely do a layer of black resin before putting down the washi tape and doing my dome.
Couldn’t you use a dark layer on the bottom so you can’t see the paper on the back ? Look awesome though will have to have a go.
Paint the backs using Arteza's iridescent black. They do two - a gold and blue shimmer. They look horrible boring matt black until covered with resin and then WOW!
Do you have a large hole punch, that would cut the circle clean
I'd use a different piece of washi tape on each side. It's good to have options.
How about gold mica powder on the back?
Maybe paint the back gold then cover in resin?
Yes, I'd paint the back and add UV over.
Can one do open bezels with regular resin? Will the blue tape seal?
If you don't want to make them double sided, you should use a colour that will match the washi. I did not see any links for open bezels like the ones you are using. What is their diameter?
You could add the same pieces of washi tape to the back or just add a different pattern with just a thin layer of resin😀
You can do two sided washi tape different design
Is there any way to put a sticky surface on your first UV resin layer, the take 2 pieces of square washi tape with their backs stuck together and lay them onto that sticky surface. Cut away excess as you did the last few bezels, and the final layer of UV resin.
I have NO IDEA what you could use for the sticky stuff though, I'm leave that to the experts
You might try sticking 2 pieces of washi tape together. Then cut out your circle and sandwich it in-between two layers of resin.
Thanks Claire love them I'll have to try
Love me some temu omg addiction lol😅
omg... now that you have black UV resin... i feel like you should revisit your bezel series
Thoughts?

Either 2 sided pendants or coloured resin in first
Hey lovely - you should cut your tape with your cricut. It's got a washi setting and you'll be spot on.
Why don’t you mix some black mica with uv resin for the first pour? They look awesome though. I think the one with cogs and a key might be my favourite. See you Friday two more sleeps xx
These are so pretty
You can get a cutter that cuts out perfect circles, the same size as your bezels. 🥰
Every time I watch one of your videos, I get more ideas….big trouble! I went yesterday and bought some polymer clay from your previous video. Now, are your round bezels 25mm? Thank you!! 😍. P. P. S. You could color your first coat of resin.
What size r the bezels please r do u have the link please
I use Let’s Resin brand colored uv resin then I place down my washi tape
You could use black nail polish.
Love the cati!!
Can someone tell why my washi tape is lifting off my wood blanks when I top them with resin. I’ve tried mod pods . I even put washi tape on already made resin pieces and then to the tape lifted off when the top coat is put under the uv lamp. Any help is appreciated I’m very frustrated.
How do you price your work for selling
So, what I would do in this situation, would be put the U.V. on like you did, and go over it with black nail polish. THEN apply the washy tape and U.V. dome.
Or.. Lol.. use black U.V. nail gel ;)
WOW...Love!!! ❤️
