Best demo of silent cue in a video, even for those of us with silent cue built into hardware. Good that Serato is making it aviablel for everyone. As ever, Mojaxx is the man!
Simplest way I got silent cue (waaaaaay when using the Rane 62 ) was to cue the songs backwards ( so my first cue was at the far end of the song after last beat ) when you load a track even when this channel slide is up, it didn’t affect at all. All you’d need to do was to hit your preferred cue button. So 2nd cue was my chorus then third was my initial start . 😊
In case anyone is interested in a little XML editing to add silent cue until this beta version becomes final, this is what I use to assign silent cue to my one of my decks using a Novation Launchkey MINI mk3 set to MIDI channel 10 and uses a button that triggers CC#51 to toggle it on and off. Change "deck_id" to either 1 or 0 depending on whether you want to your silent cue on the left or right deck.
Thanks for the video :) I've been using Silent Cue with a custom XML thanks to the legendary Drew hooking me up, I dont use it all that often in sets as I'm just used to dropping tracks with the record but it has been handy in routines... I love the GATED CUE mode, been using it when doing routines with 3 or 4 channels and it's a great way to add little cuts on the left deck with samples while scratching the main part of the routine on the right deck :)
Great News Mojaxx! You've just made my day because I've been wishing to map Silent Cue for the longest. My Rane 70 does have the option for Silent Cue close to the fader and pads, but I use Instant Doubles more. It's too much trouble to switch back and forth. I could double-tap the load button for doubles but want to stay close to the fader. I suggested Rane add a toggle where holding SHIFT + Tab would cycle through InDbl/SCue & Sync, but this update will solve my issue! Great video.
@@detroittrickster3327 I love mine, especially after all the added features. Fader is nice, the sound is nice, and easy to get to the main features compared to the 72. I will say the Pioneer DJM S11 & S7 didn't exist when I got the 70. I may have picked the S11, but it costs way more. Again, I'm happy with the 70 though! No regrets..

you can use beatjump to before the start of the song, set a small loop before the song starts and the hot cues will take you out to whatever cue you want without the need for silent cue
so I was about to download the xml set by other djs but had to look around some more and found it comes on the Serato sw so man it saves some time... just need to lear midi map for my crazy ideas lol
Nice update (and video)! Tho I still wish they would FINALLY focus on some basic features, like fix Hot Cue color bug + custom palette in fixed Cue order, preview track in library, vertical/side prepare area, properly working Auto-Gain, Serato Video overhaul, etc....
Also the looper effect is broken (the looper in the FX section) I use it alot and all loop lengths are correct except for a 32 beat loop and it loops at 21 beats not 32 ...so annoying I have told them this several times too and sent them videos showing it and ...its still broken
Muy bueno por serato que habilitó esta función la estaba esperando para usar en un ddj sz ojala pronto habiliten la función scratchbank para poder usarla en mi controlador Saludos desde argentina 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
This should work with my Mixars Pro Duo MK11 :) and I use phase as well, BTW Mo are they the clear DVS with the stickers by serato? great video btw thanks for sharing:)
There is another way to do this but you loose one cue point doing it and its putting a q point right at the end of the track where its silent and load from there and let the silence play
great video!! thanks and respect for your work. i have a question and can´t solve it. when i map the silent cue to be on the left deck by holding SHIFT + BACK on the DJM S9 its all good. but when i map it on the 2nd deck it also activates the first deck automatically. please help me...
Just looking at this and had a mad thought, phase need to do a mk2 controller thay has a light on the tip that casts across the record as ckock mark ..how fucking dope would that be

it's funny how DJs insist on using very old technology as turntables but want it with all the new features so they invent a work-around like this mute option.
Sadly not, at this time. What I do on my downtime is load up a playlist, stick the pitch up to +100%, turn on continuous play, and let it run. The analysis is saved to your USB drive/SD card so you only have to do it once for each track.
Old school vinyl dj here. Still learning Serato.I know my mixer is limited on features but can anyone tell me what button I could assign the silent cue to a Newmark Scratch if possible?
@@jojorilu One more question if you have the scratch. When button do you have it assigned too? The one secondary button feature i see is to eliminate scrolling through tracks on Serato.
@@jcarter1742 not sure how the shift button works on the scratch mixer, but check if you can use shift with more buttons on the Serato software. It should be able to read any combination, but I'm not sure.
what's the point of this??... Why wouldn't you just lower the track's fader, and "boom", the track is muted! :P :P (Sorry for being funny but I just can't see any use for this function... - at least not one that I can think of)
dope that it is now mappable. I use the BACK buttons for Silent Cue
This is what i like about DJ’s like you. Innovators.

Love the content. Always breaking stuff down nicely. Straight to the point.
thumbs up for use of "dexterity"
thanks for breaking it down, i still don't have a use for silent cue in my workflow and i'm more sure of that because of your clear video.
Awesome update on the silent cue mapping. I’ve been someone using the xml hack for silent cue on s11 key lock touch screen button
This is so dope for turntables we now have the feeling of a cdj when needed!
feeling of MPC
I completely try it on my DDJ FLX6 on Serato, and I basically did a video about that too and it came out real helpful.

it's a nice option - I tend to mix live better more traditional though. Can see some situations to use this . Cheers.

I mapped this the encoders on my 8000s i never use them for searching and loading so they work perfect for it
Great, i wrote my mapping for the reloop elite by editor. Now its a lot easier switch it.
I mean this is also huge for three/four deck mixing over HID. Just a better workflow.
Oh Yeah!... Definitely something to have in the tool box 📦...like dat Sears Fathers Day tool set...not gonna use them all...but you never know 👍

Isn't Silent Cue (Gate Cue) available on the S11 by double hitting the HOT CUE button?

Will update give you the ability to use beatsource, beatport & tidal at the same time?
