      Support has been great. They responded to my emails within 24hrs. They have already sent a new gear shift out from their CA warehouse, I hope to get it next week. As far as the chain rubbing on the fender, they offered to let me take it to a bike shop to have it fixed and they would pay for it. But I think it will be easier just to notch the fender for clearance. So I may just do that. I’m still deciding on it.

    Nice work, and great Pro-Tips for assembly. Yes, grips and an adjustable stem on the list for you. I feel there is plenty of room for a SunTour suspension post also! I look forward to the contrast vs 26 inch Cruiser bikes that you own. Paricularly handling and manuvering on the bike paths. If derailier was compressed in box, perhaps tweeked the cable pressure on the SIS shifter head and moved the needle? You mentioned guard was bent. That might indicates HEAVY and sustained force on the derailier OR a sudden jolt from droppping the bike/box? Hope support is there for you. Has anyone done a 52T conversion on the Ocelot? Seems 20 inch tires would also Ghost pedal given same 14-28 freewheel gears. Cruiser has 42T-26 tires and Ocelot has 48T-20 tires......?? Maybe 56T is the ultimate ring for Ocelot.

      I will definitely transfer my Suntour to the bike, when I ride it, next spring. Grips and adjustable stem are more than likely.
      The gear shift was damaged, support has responded and shipped a new one already. The chain against the fender in first gear may be a tougher fix. I can either shift the cassette or crank outwards or trim the fender. I will have to consider that and see what is reasonable. Magicycle has offered to let me take it to a local shop and they would pay for the fix. But I want to consider my options here first.
      I have to say they have been exceptionally responsive!
      I will have to see how the ghost pedaling is and go from there.
      Thanks for the comment!

    Used your video to assemble this is the one to watch to assemble. I have had the Ocelot pro for about a week. I have the following issue.
    I have been riding my Ocelot Pro for about a week now. The wheel is set at 22" Factory setting. I have ridden according to the bike screen 16.3 miles. I was concerned as I have used 50% of the battery. Then I checked my iPhone Gps Tracking my rides and it says I have gone 32.35 miles. The Screen said I have averages 5.4 MPH. The iPhone says 8.6 MPH. I ride as PAS 1 or 2 seldom use throttle. I am trying to rebuild strength after Cervical Spine fusion on my neck and have complete rehab. Anyone know why the screen doesn't give me accurate Mileage or MPH? Magicycle chat says this normal to use GPS as mileage but screen as MPH. Math says that is wrong. I went 8.2 miles in 55 minutes so the MPH different than the screen. Temperature here is 17 overnite, 36 afternoons. Any ideas???

    • @TinkeringTurtle
      @TinkeringTurtle  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately I haven’t spent enough time with the bike to figure out the intricacies of all that. And with the early snow this year it will be spring before I get a chance to go thru all of it.
      I will say that if you measure from the ground to the top of the tire it is closer to 24”. Also if you take a ride and then turn off the bike when you get home, the next day the battery tends to be fuller than it said during the ride. One more thing as you charge and discharge the battery the internal cells will balance giving you better performance. Maybe give it a half a dozen charge cycles before testing it further.
      Hope this helps!

    Did you ever find a fix for the chain rubbing the fender? I was thinking maybe a spacer inserted in the chainring might help, but I'm not sure how much play there is in the wheel hub to do that.

    • @TinkeringTurtle
      @TinkeringTurtle  Рік тому +1

      I ended up loosening the front attachment for the fender and slightly bending it. That biased the fender away from the chain. I think you are right you may be able to shift the chainring too.

    • @totoroboto
      @totoroboto Рік тому

      @@TinkeringTurtle Do you think is this a design flaw (common with the Ocelot) or a problem just with your particular bike?

    • @TinkeringTurtle
      @TinkeringTurtle  Рік тому

      @Myron West I think it’s normal for the chain to run close to the tire/fender on fat tire bikes. In this case the fender attachment was biased to the right and had an interference with the fender in first gear. Once the fender was biased to the left the interference was alleviated.

    I’m going to reiterate what the last poster said. Your explanation when putting this thing together is awesome. I never indexed the gears yet and after watching your video, it took me literally, two minutes to properly index them. I do have a question about brake travel. The rear brake travel seems like it is further than the front brake travel . The front brake stops the wheel, almost as soon as I touch it, whereas I have to press on the rear brake much more is this normal? I live in the Northeast, so unfortunately, I can’t take it out for a ride just yet.

      Thank you for your kind comment. I am glad the video was helpful.
      As far as the lever throw on your hydraulic brakes… I haven’t done a video on this. But you should be able to adjust how far the lever pulls back before the brakes engage. I believe this video shows that process generically. Let me know if it works for you!

    Is there enough play in the various cables to swap the stem clamp out for an adjustable one? I’m a taller guy and would likely want to swing those bars up a couple inches.

    • @TinkeringTurtle
      @TinkeringTurtle  Рік тому

      Yes, on my Ocelot I added a riser and an adjustable stem. I had to lower the handle bars slightly by shifting some spacers, but I did raise it up.
      I showed the upgrade/adjustment for the stem and riser on the Ocelot in this video:

    • @petethehawk5186
      @petethehawk5186 Рік тому

      Yea, I saw that video after. Some of those cables really seem to be stretched to about their limit. I’m wondering if just a taller adjustable clamp wouldn’t be better than the stem and clamp.

    • @TinkeringTurtle
      @TinkeringTurtle  Рік тому

      I tend to like the stem and riser combo because of the adjustability of the combined washers. It allows me to move the stem up and down for the cable length. You can also, for a little extra cost and time, lengthen the cables and hydraulic brake lines.
