    You are the first reviewer that is my size (5' 4"/160#). Most reviewers are around 6'. My Ocelot Pro is "supposed" to be delivered tomorrow. That gives me the confidence that I didn't buy the wrong bike. I live at the top of a hill so as the saying goes "It's all going downhill from here". getting back home could be a chore.

      Congratulations!! You’re going to absolutely be blown away by the Ocelot. It’s definitely one of the best e-bikes I’ve ridden to date even after a lot of other newer models have been tested. We still use it weekly as our camera ebike due to the speed, power, comfort, and how well balanced it is. Magicycle makes some really great ebikes and all the guys that ride with me also agree it’s one of the best.

    I can confirm that the newest version of the Ocelot Pro as of 4/18/23 does some with a firmware upgrade that allows you turn on "cruise control". It is off by default and is under the menu as 'Set Pace', again this is set to off from the factory. Also they have cut the rear fender where the chain in position of 1 of the gears would possibly rub.

    • @EbikeProducts
      @EbikeProducts  Рік тому +2

      Thanks for sharing! I’m glad they allow the cruise control to be able to shut off. It’s annoying to get locked in a speed and have to hit the brake or reset the throttle to change speed.

    There is a simple formula for figuring out range.
    52v x 20ah = 1040 watt hours
    1040 ÷ 750 watt motor = 1.3866
    1.3866 x 20 (stock speed max throttle 20mph) = 27.33 miles
    27.33 x 2.5 (PAS 2) = 69.33 miles
    While it's not 100% accurate, it's close enough

    Hey Chris, great review! I have a question. I have charged my 52V battery twice now and both times I noticed that I'm only getting 3 green lights, the forth is red. The battery brick light is green and the fan is stopped. I'm going to email CS with photos, but before I do I wanted to see if you or anyone else has experienced this. After I first charged it I went around 5 miles and lost a battery bar on the display. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks Bill from Tampa

    I am considering buying the Ocelot Pro 20" step thru or the Deer 20" step thru for my wife who is 5 feet 0 inches tall. Any thoughts about which bike I should buy? Any advantages of the Deer other than rear suspension? Which is the best bike for a short rider?

  • @anthonydanna4786
    @anthonydanna4786 Рік тому +2

    I'm considering the Cruiser Pro and Ocelot Pro. I'm 5' 8" , which bike rides better in rougher roads. Which fat tire do you prefer, the 20 or 26 inch. Great review.

    • @EbikeProducts
      @EbikeProducts  Рік тому +3

      I love the Ocelot Pro as my favorite all time ebike as it feels more nimble and has a ton of power, but for rougher roads, the cruiser will feel more solid due to the larger tires and bigger frame and I’d use that bike for off-road riding more for sure.
      By the way, the Deer is the all time best for off-road due to the dual suspension and frame built for rougher riding. I know it costs more, but it’s definitely a bike to consider as well.

    I’ve been looking at the Cyrusher Commoda, because of the double suspension. This bike has a much better battery! How would a Cloud 9 seat and good susp. post compare to a rear suspension??

    • @deehines5750
      @deehines5750 Рік тому +1

      It depends. Most of these bikes have really hard rear suspension where it barely makes a difference unless you upgrade it. I have a full suspension Bee Cool Explorer and a hardtail Ariel Rider Kepler with a regular Cloud 9 seat. I can't really tell the difference between the two unless it's insanely choppy continuous potholes and that's mostly because the Kepler is going much faster. I'm thinking of trying to sell my Bee Cool to get this.

    Chris I was considering the mokwheel basalt st compared to this bike what makes this one better?

    • @EbikeProducts
      @EbikeProducts  Рік тому +3

      They Mokwheel line of ebikes are absolutely amazing and among my top picks of 750w ebikes also. I reviewed one of their 25” fat tire ebikes like the Basalt, but it wasn’t a step-thru. If the Basalt has the same components as the Mokwheel Upland Plus that I reviewed, then It’s a tough call which is better as both have powerful motors that hit at least 28mph, but the Ocelot’s 52v battery and 20” tires will be a little faster off the start and better for heavier riders vs the 48v battery and 26” tires on the Basalt. If you’re shorter like me at 5’6” or shorter, the Mokwheel is a little big, but rideable and needs a little more strength to compensate for the size. Parking would be another consideration if you have a tight space. Those 26” fat tire bikes take a lot of room in the garage. Even though the Ocelot is not foldable, it’s definitely more manageable in tighter spaces. Also, the Ocelots being 52v could mean that range may be shorter even if the battery size is the same. I haven’t tested it myself, but the more torque and smaller
      Diameter wheels could be sightly faster drain.
      I feel the Ocelot is more versatile and a little more powerful, but the mokwheel isnt far behind and if you want a larger ebike, then the Mokwheel is a comparable replacement. Similar to the Snapcycle Step-thru, that too is a decent comparison to the Mokwheel.

      Of course, you could make both changes at the same time and achieve a 31% improvement in gear ratio. On the plus side, doing both changes simultaneously saves time since some of the work tasks involved are the same. On the minus side, complexity is inherently more risky. You never know what is going to happen, until it happens.

Step thru, handlebars, battery-frame integration and the fact that at 750W is a totally legal class 2 bike. So if you want more power, get the Ariel. But for me, I got the Ocelot. I used to think I’d like to have torque sensors on all my ebikes, but over time I’ve begun to prefer cadence sensors a little more unless a bike has the proper gearing to support the torque sensor at higher speeds. It really depends on how many magnets the cadence sensor has though as the delay can be pretty bad on some bikes.
      At the speed the Ocelot goes, I like having a cadence sensor on it better so I don’t need to put pressure on my peddling to get motor power.

  • @tiger7777
    @tiger7777 Рік тому +5

    $100 off equals $1900 not $1800. You over sell which is a deception. Otherwise let's just say, you seem very satisfied. I have to wonder why they intentionally use that gear set. Surely they are aware of the very criticism you make about it because many reviews point out that very same issue and they are aware of it. Are they intentionally discouraging people to go slower for longevity by lowered heat buildup or do they want battery life to be depleted so they can sell more batteries? It doesn't make sense because it is a well known issue. Ghost peddling causes more battery usage!!

    • @EbikeProducts
      @EbikeProducts  Рік тому +3

      I think it’s a supply issue. I remember another ebike company’s CEO saying they wanted 11 tooth gearing but couldn’t get enough so they opted for the 14 tooth which is in high supply.
      My apologies for the over sell and price error. That’s honestly a n embarrassing stupid math error on my part and me just being overly excited to talk about this ebike. I am a huge fan of Magicycle’s ebikes and was so happy with how good this ebike rides.
      Not sure about them intentionally putting specific parts for making more sales. I guess it’s possible, but the owner of Magicycle doesn’t seem like he wants anything to hurt their image and moves quick to fix things that he can to maintain a good brand image.
