Thank you. I use Q and W a lot when I am editing. And I changed the Split to E instead of Ctrl + B So in my first draft I keep my three fingers near each other on Q, W and E. And then I can trim fast without looking on the keyboard or moving my hands. Also, the Logitech master 3 or 3s has a thumb wheel so you can scrub the timeline left and right. Also very helpful Great video ... I did not know that Capcut has an I and O shortcut like Adobe premier Sorry for the long comment lol cheers
Thank you Trevor ❤ I've recently realized after a year of editing that this is something I want to do with my life. But I'm met with moments I don't feel like I'm good enough. But I must remind myself I'm only in competition with myself. Right now I'm working on increasing my efficiency. I work on talking head videos mostly and I feel like I can obsess over cuts sometimes.
Wow, Trevor, your tips are amazing! They've saved me so much time. Your videos are incredibly educational, and I've learned a ton from watching your channel! 😁 Thank you!
Michelle! Have I ever met you IRL? Your face and name look familiar. I asked my wife and she can't place you but I keep thinking you look familiar! Also, thanks for all the kind words in your comments!
I am so glad to have these keystroks reminders from your course. I'm just really strting to use J, K, L more. I didn't know you could export a selected clip without screwing up the rest. Hmmm...I see possibilities. I forgot about Alt key and drag to dulicate a clip. Thanks, Trev, you're the best!!!
Trevor! Man thank you so much for your tutorials, they have been invaluable. Just a quick question. Is there a way of cutting material from your main timeline without then throwing all of your b roll and sound design out of sync? I noticed the clips aren’t connected like they are in FCP. Would love your advice on this. Thanks a ton for your amazing tutorials, they are so inspiring!
You want to turn off the track magnet but clicking the button on the top right in the timeline or by typing the letter "p". Then you can select everything you want to slide over together so it doesn't go out of sync.
Thank you, Trevor! :) Much appreciated! Just a polite head's up that at around the 8:10 mark, you mention SHIFT+Z, but the graphic shows SHIFT+B. Thought you'd want to know. Not a huge deal. :) I'd love to see a video of your workflow (what you do for the first edit, second edit, etc.) If you already have a video, I'd appreciate a link - otherwise, perhaps an idea for a future video. Thanks again!
Trevor, thank you for videos, always worth a time to spend! Could you pls answer a short q - when backround in videos slightly blurred, is this done by softer after recording or by the camera during?
You can do it either way, but it will always look much better if you do it in camera. I cover how to do it in camera in this video: ua-cam.com/video/hm0criH5CVo/v-deo.htmlsi=4wVZb_ysFfxjXMci
You mention that these keystrokes apply to most NLEs yet you only show Premiere, FCP and Resolve. How about mentioning that these keystrokes were ALL adopted from Avid Media Composer? That's where it all started. I actually made the jump from MC to CapCut for CapCuts incredible features and speed of editing. I see a ton of videos showing features like this in thisbor that NLE and none ever mention where it all began. I know Avid is not the king of the hill any longer but Media Composer does deserve to be remembered for the NLE that changed Hollywood forever.
I used avid for awhile in hollywood actually. When I map my keyboard I use keystrokes from avid, premiere and the original fcp, plus my own. Was Command B "add edit" in Avid? I didn't remember that. Thanks for sharing!
Dang it! thanks for the heads up! I fixed it, but here is a direct link to the PDF from google drive: drive.google.com/file/d/1SprMub4YM_c76AepdnfFHIYZ7kG5u9Kc/view?usp=sharing
Hi Trevor - wow, that was really helpful and nicely concise. Thanks.... I do have one question if you are able to help? I edit lots of small clips together and the one thing that would be the most useful is using some kind of scroll wheel to move the timeline back and fourth. Im on a mac and the magic mouse doesn't do it, would a standard mouse do it, do I need to buy a Loupdeck or similar - any ideas on what might work well? Thanks again, Simon
Thank you for another great video. Is it possible to jeep a AI character to stay on screen for a few seconds or section of video after they finish taking instead of disappearing right away. Thank you in advance. Alan
Oooh great question! I just messed with it for you and adding "paragraphs" didn't help at all. The only thing that worked was hitting the "freeze" icon on the top left of timeline to make a freze frame... but then it's just a still image and I don't think that's what you're looking for. I don't know of a way to keep a character up if they're not talking.
@TrevorJonescreator no Trevor thank you for that. I just want the image of the Ai to stay on for a extra few seconds or end of frame. I really appreciate this. ALAN
Hi Trevor, Thanks for your videos! Can you tell me if there is a shortcut to mark everything on the right of your timeline? If I want to add something in the middle I always have to mark everything to the right with the mouse and then move it. Because else all the layer clips get mix up
Yikes! Thanks for the heads up! I fixed it for future clicks, but here's a direct link to the PDF on Google Drive: drive.google.com/file/d/1SprMub4YM_c76AepdnfFHIYZ7kG5u9Kc/view?usp=sharing
I don't think you'll have any issues using CapCut's sound effects! I've never ever had an issues with any sound effect from anywhere. I think UA-cam only cares about copyright for longer clips/sounds. I've used tons and tons of movie and tv clips on monetized videos with zero issues as long as I kept them around 5 seconds. Here are 100 free sfx you can use anywhere: trevorjonescreator.ck.page/100freesfx

Wow. Please never ever stop making CapCut Pc tutorials. They are very sparse in number and your videos are always full of value!
Aww thanks! I'll keep at it!
Amen and agreed!
I appreciate you Trevor! It takes about an hour to make a 1 minute short, and this will save more time for other projects. 🙏
Glad it helped! And thank you so much! It means a lot!

I so appreciate your videos about CapCut. I just switched from iMovie and learning so much from your content. Thanks!!
You are so welcome!
Alt + mouse scrolling is also great for moving the timeline horizontaly
Yes! Use it constantly! Thanks for sharing that tip!

Is there a simple way to add a blank/black clip? I want a way to make a break between 2 scenes! Thanks for your great videos x

@@TrevorJonescreator Thanks Trevor. That worked.
Sir for 2nd Layer, is there any way to make them have a magnetic feature, because sometimes they are so annoying
Not exactly... Once I've got more than one layer, I ALWAYS turn the track magnet off. Just type the letter P.
