    Such a wild place. Seeing you posting again brings back happy memories of when I was first getting into hiking - watching your old PCT videos was a big source of inspiration for me. Great video, thanks from Australia.

    John Z! Wow, what a privilege to see you posting again. When I was 12-13, I watched your videos. They opened my mind to the beauty and possibility of bodily powered travel. I found your videos so interesting as a young man. Your documentation of your journeys helped lay the the groundwork in my mind to later pull a bike out of the trash and go cross country when I was 17. Thank you for sharing you and your experiences with the world, they are precious :-)

    hard to grasp for me what is so special about your videos. i could watch them for hours... its odd. maybe its the calming voice paired with this very soothing music. and only hiking. no camp, no chitchat. although i would have liked to see the camp at telescope :>

    I spent some time at the house with the swimming pool, kind of a surreal spot. Loved hanging out under the trees and the star filled night sky.

    im more of a lowlands die in the heat guy when i visit but Wow i sure do love seeing you all hike in the mtns around DV. FANTASTIC video thanks for taking us along// you carried the whole book? Heavy! at least you didnt carry both versions... // looks like maybe we were in the south end around when you all were hiking / we were out there april 9/10

      we didn’t start until april 22. brought the first edition since i still wasn’t sure if i’d venture out to the western area yet.

April 22 is a good time for a hike/ wind has been nuts this year but we did a backpack in DV april 19th last few years. this year we were lazy and just drove into the owlsheads..

      @@potatothorn ive been. lonesome miner trail in the inyos then across saline valley to ubehebe and racetrack was one of my first hikes in the area. hoping to go further north moreso than west

    that was a beautiful video! I love Death Valley and want to do traverses there myself, but this one seems like the perfect route! Desert hiking is some of my favorite hiking, I always like looking at doing a traverse through Mojave National Preserve. You got any plans for more desert hikes? Maybe you should look into the Great Basin Trail as well. Also are you planning on sharing the route more specifically or are you going to keep it more of a secret for people to plan it out themselves?

    The no-cache thing was amazing, IMO. The other day I read Mary Poppin's exploits on a solo Death Valley traverse and she had 3 or 4 caches for her thing.

      camped about 1000’ down. wasn’t bad. wind was surprisingly calm when we were on the ridge.
