You have to do more videos with your buddy. Can't wait for more. 😀
Great to see another video from you. Sure don;t make hitches like they used to, maybe cause they sold American Steel to Japan! Your Friend is awesome at the thing he can do! A Man with a lot of talent!
Japan makes some of the most quality machines you can buy. Honda atv's are well renowned for being almost unbreakable, and many machines from the 80's and 90's are still running strong today. Japanese industry is regarded as about as quality as you can get. There is a reason that the best atv/motorcycle brands are all Japanese. Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha.
This is why you should never leave your trailer hitch in receiver. It will rust its self in place.
That's why you never leave them in when not I use
It is sort of hard for me because I have a regular cab pickup and no toolbox. So when I am mowing in the Summer it pretty much stays in all the time. I understand that it rains and water gets trapped and just sits in them. I may take mine out tomorrow and spray it all down with Fluid Film.
That was actual wizardry what he did with the hitch. Wow
Your buddy is very handy, seems like a nice guy.
I always add gobs of grease in the receiver and on the hitch - keeps it from rusting, and keeps it a LOT quieter while towing
My buddy greases his balls.. gets me every time I hate it lol. Maisy is known to get a black streak down her side walking by his truck
Never understood why people leave their ball shank in the receiver tube long enough to rust together. Makes no sense to me.
It’s in Maine. I only takes about 15 minutes for this to happen.
@@stevenwescott1422😂 2” of road salt for every inch of snow
@@pleaseDNR don’t I know it.
A shop with just about everything. I'm jealous. Good job.
Ive never once thought about a hitch rusting like that 😮 Mine stays in my truck 24/7. I also dont live in Maine..
Those stock Chevy hitches are notorious for the tubes getting thin and breaking. Might want to look at that before you do anything heavy.
Yeah Zach checked it over plus I had the bed off for a while when I replaced all the cross members and I hit it with a hammer it seemed solid. I don't plan on hauling much more than a couple mowers anyways. F* Salt.
one of my brothers here in maine got an fj that was from florida and the hitch was broke off and rusted in there also. he did get it out.
I was thinking is he gonna engage the safety squints? Oh yes he did 😂 gl
Hope you're doing ok 🤙🏽
Is this the guy with the short bus?
Yeah same guy
This is the reason I never leave mine in. Mine also is solid steel rated to 16000#
Yeah the one in there now is solid 👌
You better inspect the round cross tube on that factory GM hitch, I've seen them rusted paper thin and fold down whe n stopping a trailer
After watching this abomination I am about to go take my hitch receiver out and spray the hell out of it with Fluid Film or something. I leave mine in a lot in the Summer like this when I am mowing lawns.
FYI, this is why I wrap around part of the frame whenever possible when unsticking another vehicle. I saw a report of someone dying because the hitch broke and the nylon strap launched the steel into the stuck driver's face. Also, chains don't store energy.
You aren't really planning on putting a trailer on that, are you?
Sure I'm not a pussycat

Proper maintenance.
What you think about after something breaks and then forget about again after you finish spending a boatload of money fixing the broken something.
You live in the rust belt. Preventing rust is a lot cheaper than replacing rusted out vehicles and parts. A generous amount of never-seize/anti-seize would have protected the hitch.
Do you live in the rust belt?
@@CerebralAilment
"Do you live in the rust belt?"
Do you have to live in the desert to know it gets hot in the summer?
Do you have to live in Alaska to know the temperature can drop to 40 degrees Fahrenheit or more in the winter?
Do you have to live in the rust belt to know they have coatings that can be used to prevent or at least slow down the inevitable rust that occurs if you drive on the roads that they spread salt on all winter to make it safer for drivers?
Use wool wax undercoating. it stops rust. I live in the snow/salt belt and I have no rust.
Does no one check their equipment at least once a decade?
I need friends like that
Probably needs a new hitch to
Crusty truck. Fluid film would’ve helped prevent that. Oh well.
Yeah it would have - Unfortunately its why I have it. I'm editing the frame and cross member repairs right now should go up soon.
More More went want more of your videos.
2 stroke? it sounds like the 4 stroke yamaha my mother had. hers being a 4 stroke it did have forward and reverse gear.

😂
That's what she said!
Your going to regret not using ear plugs
What..,
Replace the whole hitch or go back with antisieze on the new reciever
Cool! Are you interested in vehicle lighting stuff sponsorship?
Rust means one thing, Neglect.
Or it means you live north of the Carolinas loll

That's why you take it out when not being used. Stop being lazy
