Never heard of Dallas until I just listened to his rendition of "Rain When I Die" in the MoPOP Founders Award honoring Alice In Chains. It took a while, but now I'm here. I'm happy about that.
@xThijzx: And I'm saying he mostly uses 2 fingers for most of his licks, because you can't even play them with a pick. He's plucking a bassline and playing leadmelodies with one of his other fingers. I checked some Fragile Bird videos and he does use a pick for this one, but I think that's because he wants the guitar to sound sharper than usual.
@xThijzx Check out his "Live from Austin, Texas" for some HD footage and closeups. Dallas uses his thumb and ring finger since he's not just strumming chords.
Ace Voice....great performance....Loving the look of that Guitar too! (and big phat Neuman mic..drool drool.....guess I'll just have to be happy with my SE2200a for now) whoops sorry...studio Geek moment! :-)
@xThijzx Sorry but that's not true. Dallas used his thumb and fingers to get a soft sound out of his acoustic guitars. Just check out his famous MySpace Transmissions videos for some closeups.
Sad that Dallas Green found Canadians as cold and not as Giving as they are in Portland re Strangrers song gosh I have loved your songs from the beginning as City and Colour and as Dallas Greeen you have been blessed with with a heart and a amazing voice But you are mistaken
Listen to David Phelps. I enjoy Dallas Green a lot but I can't really put him in Phelps category. Granted, they have much different approaches and styles.
