I remember coming across this years ago and my jaw hitting the floor when Wade started singing. Dude has an insanely awesome voice and I'll always appreciate this vid for making me realize that.
I'm always amazed at how good Dallas's voice is. Sounds just like the album. I also love the sound of Wade's voice when he actually sings and doesn't scream. Don't get me wrong, I love Alexisonfire and all their songs and whatnot but they just compliment each other so well when they both sing like this.
@barehardjeremy first tune to B-A-D-F#-B-E low to high. main chord throughout the song is 0-9-9-8-0-0 with the occasional Em x-2-2-1-0-0 bridge bit is 3-5-0-0-0-0, 10-12-11-0-0-0, 12-x-0-0-0-0 chorus is x-4-4-3-0-0, x-5-5-3-0-0, x-7-7-0-0-0, 0-2-2-0-0-0 repeat as necessary.. hope this helps (and that this posts properly)
@LaceyDel12 This song is a cover he/alexisonfire didn't write it. It is an adaptation of a gospel song. Dallas is great and all but I have met him several times and people who give him credit for things he didn't,do especially AOF songs he didnt write or saying he is the only good thing in AOF. He believe its the whole band not just him, I never asked him the few times he chatted but he seems to be very modest of his skills and fond of Wade's George's Ratbeard's and Chris' skill and abilities.
omfg i've totally underestimated Wade - i had NO fucking clue he was this talented. them clean vocals are AMAZING - i wasnt sure what it would be like before he started but fuck my ballsack that was good
and also, for reference, Dallas has said before in an old interview he sings about faith in yourself, he doesn't write about religion as he isn't religious. This is a reworking of an old slave song. However more recently they have written a little about religion, and it did sound like they were fans of modern Christianity to me.
2024 and never gets old 🔥🔥🔥
wades vocals were really soulful here - i think he was always underrated as a clean vocalist
+AndysEdits agreed. but holy shit - MASSIVE thumbs down to the sound engineer who couldn't roll his gain back just a fuckin' CLICK.
Dallas can put emotion into his music like noone else in the music scene, hes so FUCKING amazing !!!
It doesnt matter what the fuck these dudes do. They kill it every time.
I keep coming back to this. Exquisite.
Crazy, you can tell both these guys are just really good at guitar, Dallas Green just makes it look effortless.
I remember coming across this years ago and my jaw hitting the floor when Wade started singing. Dude has an insanely awesome voice and I'll always appreciate this vid for making me realize that.
The contrast of vocals here is magnificent
2020 still rocking it. Whose with me?
The combo of a smooth as butter voice and that soulful raspy voice is just magical !
Such beautiful music ❤️
Fucking kick ass my sister went to school with these guys and i met the both of them many many many times great guys so respectable
Wade Macneil I fucking love that voice man! :)
Insane
love this version. dallas' green flannel era, love it.
Having come quite late to Alexisonfire, I almost didn't recognize Dallas without the awesome grandpa beard.
These guys rock.
I love Wade's voice so much.
Who knew Wade could sing that awesome!? Impressed me
I'm always amazed at how good Dallas's voice is. Sounds just like the album. I also love the sound of Wade's voice when he actually sings and doesn't scream. Don't get me wrong, I love Alexisonfire and all their songs and whatnot but they just compliment each other so well when they both sing like this.
Wade doesn’t scream, George is the screamer.
Fn'g awesome I totally love this version too!!! Great job guys =)
amazing. I fucking love the rasp in wade's voice and the softness in dallas' voice.
Best thing Ive ever heard, OH MY GOD! I was wondering when they'd go acoustic!
THIS NEVER GETS OLD!!!!
What an amazing combination of musicians. Shame they don't exist any more :-(

They mentioned in the interview they will be coming back but with tour plans and the Olympics no date is confirmed yet.
2021 still here

6years later and this track still rocks young cardinals is by far the best album from alexisonfire
this is just amazing!
@barehardjeremy first tune to B-A-D-F#-B-E low to high.
main chord throughout the song is 0-9-9-8-0-0 with the occasional Em x-2-2-1-0-0
bridge bit is 3-5-0-0-0-0, 10-12-11-0-0-0, 12-x-0-0-0-0

Wow, i can actually understand the words now, great song. Had no idea Wade sung.
holly shit major chills throughout my body simply amazing!
Oh my god. The harmonizing on roll jordan is incredible.
wade and dallas are unique singers...and holy shit in ONE band !!!
THATS godlike !!
Do love.
@burpcore1 actually i think the tuning for Dallas's guitar is BADF#BE from low e to high e and Wades might be in standard. =)
@NHLfanvids i was there, man moshing was the best and im like 5'6 haha i was crushed!
Favorite musician is Dallas green
i like rap music...why do i like this song so much i guess good music is just good music
the big boii has such a good blues voice!!!! and dallas is the best!
@mikeknight123 - the low E string is tuned all the way down to B? It must sound like a clothes line!
Why doesn't this have like 303 million views?
wades and dallas's voices go together so perfectly, if only wade went further with balck lungs, i loved those songs
This should be a song on City and Colour next album
I LOVE DALLAS GREEN
anybody know what guitar that is that dallas is playing? sooo nice
wooo triple j's - like a verison!! woke up early to hear it!
Old Crows/Young Cardinals*** and also, I meant this acoustic version...
@burpcore1 It's in an alternate tuning. I'm trying to figure it out.
But a crude version would be Bm for verses (Em at times) C#m, D, E for a chorus.
in this song i agree
dallas's voice relaxes to the point of sleepiness.
At 1:16. That harmony with the guitar is the sound of perfection.
@Jeffreywc123 im pretty sure triplej (radion station here in australia they are talking about) released the song on a mix cd....
AoF had some of the best vocal interplay of any band I can think of. I hope one day they might reform or something :(
...ive got good news
Ooooo Dallas 😩🙌
They released an album/ep of acoustic AOF songs under AOF if I'm not mistaken.
god I love that man
god i love your pic
haha! Thank you :)
Named my son after Dallas!
does it matter if they are or aren't?
is there any site that has this version for download? i love it and i am an audio geek who hates the youtube converters
Anyone know what guitar Dallas is using in this session?
Dallas green. whada deep guy,
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
This doesn’t get old.
It sounds great in acoustic
One can only dream that he played for that team.
So what happened to them coming back to play there free show.
Wicked!!!!
@mikeknight123 - I tried it - not bad. Any alternative tuning opens up the chances of finding that elusive lost chord :)
1 person was so in awe they accidently pushed dislike...
Wow, this shows that wade should frontline his own band. Rad pipes!!!
He did front his own band. The Black Lungs. They’re a pop punk band. Hold Fast is a pretty good tune.
@@Thor-Orionhe also has a solo project called Dooms Children
I'm going IN 3 DAYS!!! Ahhhh I'm so fucking excited. Fuck yes.
@kerazeee who underrated it?
was thinking the same thing
@Mayhammaymarchon No, same here. :D I'm especially in love with his voice. :D
So unbelievably sick. What is dallas saying in the background when wade is saying "I'm gonna go to heaven when I die"?
Yo I didn't know Wade could sing like that! Sheesh, I miss these guys so much...

Better yet is the contrast between them :D
Dallas Green is a FUCKING WIZARD
Wade is now the front man of the band Gallows if you want to hear some more.
opening 2025 with AOF on repeat
@duds18289 i meant the 2 that had disliked the video, and ive seen this band live a few times
