Bees Do Not Like Fishing Line

If you use fishing line on your frames to support the comb I found that 30 pound test works better. The lighter line is too easy for the bees to chew through. In the old days they would use metal wire which is the best. But it is harder to work with, more expensive, and takes more time.

Haha! My magic number is 25# test line. I have a couple hives that will chew thru it, but all the rest won’t.

i just use starter strips , no line at all

When you spin the frame for honey dose, the comb become damaged?

@@geaj4214 if you spin it too fast yes , but not if you start slow and ramp the speed up as the honey leaves the comb
