Thank you Fulton, that was a most generous sharing of an interesting experiment. I learnt a lot there. As im a newish subscriber im catching up on your past videos, with great pleasure......Alioban ❤
All three are so unique and I love that cat. Your gift continues to impress. Sometimes I'm so curious I speed ahead, then go back to your composition. Love the adventure.!
I especially love the collage, probably due to my love of cats and that cat is so gorgeous. Great fun you seem to have Fulton experimenting. Your cat is now famous!
Pastels are made with a gum tragacanth or gum Arabic binder- soft pastels will have less gum than other pastels, and oil pastels will have oil, possibly linseed.. I make my own paints, watercolour and oil paints. Fascinating process you are doing here! Thanks for sharing it.
You have been busy with a wonderful shift in your art - softer colors and some softer edges as well. I am bowled over by the pastel transfer and hand coloring - wow! A feast for the eyes. As if that weren’t enough, then arrive two spectacular ghost prints, each of which demonstrates a more casual blending of colors. I am torn - I have been accustomed to the crisp stencil lines and bold color statements - yet I am drawn to this new direction! It is inspirational to witness your artistry evolve. Thanks for the front row seat. 🎊 🎉
I was very interested in the way you used the pastels on the gel plate. Genius idea that masking sheet to carefully place it in position. Thanks for sharing that with us all. 🙂
You are a true picture builder, Fulton. Pastels are a blast. I doubt they have been used much in traditional forms of printmaking. They add electric excitement dancing across the surface of gelli.
Loved what you did to the first one by adding colour with the brush. All 3 have different appearances and structures, all with a specific interest, but my favourite is the first one. Loved your exploration of pastel transfer and collage combination.
That first ghost print was fantastic. I'm still watching...I'm curious to see the end result of the collage piece. Ooh! The final print was fabulous! I love the colors in it.
Inspiring as usual. My fave is #2, love the textures (and colors!). Heading home from a 3 day monotype workshop, admittedly I get more out of your videos by far.
WOW!!! I smiled through this whole video! Loved the colors and the kitty, and the new direction for possibilities. I must try pastel transfer as soon as I get my studio set up! Thanks for your inspiration!
Happy you're back! I've missed you. I like the misty looking textures you've achieved with your pastels. Quite fun and inspiring to explore this way. I think it's #1 and Mr. Kitty for me this time- so fresh and playful! Hope you are staying cool and enjoying our sizzling summer.
This video inspired me to try pastel transfer but i found that the pastel dust sticks to the paint on the roller and spreads all over mixing all the colours and making them muddy, even if i blow the excess off. Why doesn’t this happen with yours?
Thank you Fulton, that was a most generous sharing of an interesting experiment. I learnt a lot there. As im a newish subscriber im catching up on your past videos, with great pleasure......Alioban ❤
love so much the first one with the cat and additional gand paint..super 🎉
The last pull. The colours , Shapes. Ghosts of ghosts! The whole mood was so very cool. You are a brilliant artist and teacher! Thank you 🎉
I enjoy your spontaneous emotional reaction to the reveal. How lovely to be pleasantly surprised.
Thanks so much 💖💖
That second one was superb. The first one was the cat’s pajamas. Very entertaining video, thank you.
All three are so unique and I love that cat. Your gift continues to impress. Sometimes I'm so curious I speed ahead, then go back to your composition. Love the adventure.!

What a technique. The result is stunning, and I think adding the figurative element was a stroke of genius.

Number 3 just blew me away
I had to comment again because I hadn't seen the cat abstract on first pull was so interesting. 😊 The ghost print is gorgeous

Uživam pri vsakem videu. Tudi sama eksperimentiram, a žal nimam tako kvalitetnih barv. No, kakšen poskus se je le posrečil.
Beautiful!
Fabulous!
ghost 3 is very good
Beautiful
very nice!!
Absolutely love them! I'm hard pressed to choose my fave (as always) - probably the second ghost print, or the third... maybe the collage???😉
Wow❤❤❤❤
My gosh!
Love this idea!! Have you used oil pastels ever?
no, I usually don't use pastels, they were a gift from a viewer.
Is grey !
😀👏👏👋
Thanks mate! 😎
Beautiful work, what size plate are u using?
It's a 16 in x 20 in.
Thank u so much!
what kind of pastels ? ❤ would this work with oil pastels ?
please watch ua-cam.com/video/qTt0Hs9QT48/v-deo.html
Is it acceptable to use oil pastels as well?
@@francynroy2231 you can try, but I doubt it will do a good transfer. Remember that oil and water don't mix.
This video inspired me to try pastel transfer but i found that the pastel dust sticks to the paint on the roller and spreads all over mixing all the colours and making them muddy, even if i blow the excess off. Why doesn’t this happen with yours?
It's not a perfect medium and can be messy. Try using less pastel on the paper surface to minimize the dust. Trial and error!
got a question, I have been using the pan pastels for awhile, Do you think they would work with this collage? Really enjoy your art, so inspiring.
sorry Mr. Sim, ignore the question, going to gove them a try. Thanks for sharing. Linda
@lindablumer18 give it a try. It may work, maybe not but you won't know till you experiment.
Do you varnish the prints which you add collage to ?
No, I don't see the need, but if a buyer requires it I will.
I just thought there might be podge residue showing up on the surface if the paint is matt.
Sorry modge podge I meant!
@margaretnuttall5130 HI Margaret, don't take my word for it, try it yourself and do tests! Everyone's tastes and standards are different.
you mention Blick water paper, but there are several'
I like this one www.dickblick.com/items/blick-watercolor-paper-22-x-30-single-sheet/
These were all quite marvelous. I enjoyed this video so very much.
Thanks so much!
