For those car boys who think bikes are slow ,by international law bikes are restricted to 300 kmh by all manfactureres for safety ,remove the restriction and they WILL go much faster
I own a 08 R1 stock. Acceleration 'til 250 km/h this GTR seems glued to the ground compared to R1. 'Til 300 km/h it has no chance against any R1. Only in top speed and under certain condition it can be quicker than the R1 (in straight line). Mine does about 315 km/h indicated, since the speedo stops at 299 and the revs still climb mire 500 rpm.
I'm not trying to say anything but this probably the base model GTR and it is not light. At the end of the day I do like both but the GTR is a heavy 4WD GT car so it is impressive for what it can do with a 485HP engine.

Lets face it the bike is limited, just look at the Isle of Man TT to see them hitting 200mph. Also the bike was kind enough to slow down and wait for the GTR, otherwise it wouldn't have been seen again considering it was showing in the wing mirror on slowing down for the toll.
R6 owner here - you're dumb. They're almost identical to 60 and to finish the quarter, then the R6 runs out of gear at 160 where as the GTR keeps going to 195.
No it still wouldn't. This is off the top of my head, but check me if you think I'm wrong. R6 0-60 time: 2.8-3.0. GTR 0-60 time: Sub three. R6 quarter mile: 10.8-11@ ~130. GTR quarter mile: 11ish @ ~130. Yes its (barely) slower through the quarter, but the equal trap speed means its starting to pull harder, aka if you ran the half its probably going to have a higher trap and quicker et. As I said, I have an R6, love it to death, but I cannot (from experience) outrun a GTR. Then again, as you said, I didn't pay nearly as much as the GTR owner. Not why I bought the bike anyways.
02, so I'm still on a carb where you have FI, so stock you're working with about 10-20 more hp. The 06 is also like 50lbs lighter. Do you have a power commander? What about sprockets? That would make a big difference too. I did a couple runs against the GTR. Roll racing I got the jump on him, but I certainly never raped him, and towards the end of the run he was always pulling on me pretty hard. From a dig he rocked me every time, but I'll be the first to say I am not skilled enough to launch a super sport bike as hard as possible. All he had to do was set the launch control and mat it.

Yes dude, 299 is max that is shown on the speedo but if you look closely, you will see rpm rises even after hitting 299 meaning it crosses 300. Some overgeared bikes reach 320 with strong strides. 1000ccs are powerful bikes.
That gtr can do 190+ stock, don't get me wrong love bikes summer riding whatever but that car smh it's a cut above the rest and with a remap minor bolt ons the r1 would truly be in for a difficult time

Nuno MPC You are absolutely right. The R1 accelerates far better to 300.

I have a blue ‘08 R1 and believe it could out accelerate any car once already moved off the line (bikes are difficult to launch...)
