My main concern with pulse 3d is the build quality. I'm hearing more and more cases of the headsets breaking after a couple months of use due to the cheap plastic material that Sony is using for these headsets
I'm on my 2nd Pulse headset and can say they hold up very well. Only reason I'm on number 2 is because I raged and slammed my first headset and then threw it at the wall. 🤣
@Kevin, In my case and opinion, Sony's Headset is the better choice because despite of the amazing battery, the far superior build quality and comfort of the steelseries over Pulses, here in UK for some reason the difference in price is much bigger. The Artics cost an unreasonable £160 (we are talking about British Pounds and not Dollars which translates to roughly $220) and the Pulse 3D costs only £80... HALF the price. Especially when I think of my other 2 main reasons for my decision. 1st the ability to switch the sound from the headset to the TV and to Adjust the Party balance with the press of a button is a huge dealbreaker for me. 2nd my brother had the Steelseries Pro , for which he paid £300, and when after 3 years of usage the battery died, he contacted the customer service to replace the battery, as in Europe we don't have an official Steelseries retailers, and apparently, according to them, due to regulations, they are not allowed to send lithium batteries overseas, he had to purchase a whole new headset. For some reason which is beyond me he bought a new headset from them. This time the Artics 7 (not the latest model which are the Artics 7P and 7X) and he is now having the problems with the sound adjustments mentioned above... 🤔🤔 So yeah for me Steelseries is one of the worst companies you can buy something if you're not located in the US. P.s. Obviously I'm not going through the fact that "oh but he is testing the headsets while wearing a beanie and try to convince us about sound quality" 😒😒 Obviously his UA-cam style which I love, so whoever took that seriously, please stop being silly people.
Dude, the best pro tip u have given me is the use of beanie hat then headphones. My ear area and scalp can get sweaty and oily so i think ima buy a ton of beanie from now on and maybe cut holes in the ear area just to get the clear sound through. Thanks man!
One thing that drives me crazy, is the volume limits on most headsets. Some at least have a volume control on them, but when they don't the sound slider on console in my experience is set kind of low for my liking
Sony makes some of the best audio headsets in the world, I only wonder how great a premium priced and high quality PlayStation audio headset would be if Sony put their best foot forward? 🤔
I have their platinum headset which is their premium headset for the PS4 and it sounds pretty darn great. And to be quite frank, it sounds better than these new pulse ones designed for the PS5. So they can really make a great product but I assume they opt out of it because it’s probably not in their best interest because it’s a niche item and it will sell poorly I think. But an updated premium headset would be a massive win.
Yes! Why isn’t this out there. Platinum has better drivers. Does it out perform the 3D pulse or not!? I’m wondering if Sony is scrubbing the net so they can sell Pulse kits, haha
I’m wondering why nobody talks or mention why the “PULSE” technology of this new Playstation headset is complete absent. The PS4 PULSE headphones were called PULSE because the headset had a vibration pulse that made the headset pumps with every bass sound. I’ve seriously though this new headset had it too, but it appears it doesn’t.
Fine-tuned for 3D Audio The PULSE 3D wireless headset has been specifically tuned to deliver the 3D Audio made possible by the PlayStation®5 console. Powered by Tempest 3D AudioTech, the PS5 console can put you at the center of incredibly immersive soundscapes where it feels as if the sound comes from every direction. Pretty sure they just changed the name of the "pulse" tech to "Tempest 3d audiotech"
@@bradlyj9760 I’m really looking foward this new 3D audio on PS5 and what this new PS5 headset is going to offer. I also own the PS4 Platinum Headset, I’ve purchased it exclusively for the Horizon ZD and Uncharted 4’s 3D audio and It’s great. But I miss the punch the PS4 PULSE Headphones had and that its completely absent on this new PS5 headset.
@@bulloguin I've yet to experience the "3D audio" 🤦🏾♂️ it's the main fucking thing I was looking forward to. The way it was hyped up. Like completely game changing. Don't be fooled. I've owned since day one launch. Played about 6 different games now.
It’s more accurate to compare it to the platinum headset not the gold because the only similarities is the price point the platinum is the one with 3D audio like the PS5 headset.
Pulse 3D drives me nuts considering it’s just a way to avoid Dolby Atmos licensing fees. Dolby’s sole purpose is audio and the continuation of improving that audio. 3D audio will be good enough but never great.
Owning both the pulse and steel, the steel are so comfortable but mic sounds like ass and have three sets to compare. Both x and p version, as well as the new Nova and no, mic is not clear compared to the pulse. The pulse is clear while the steel series mic is more compressed. Now the pulse doesn’t have the best but definitely better than the steels.
Just bought the pulse 3d headset here in Australia for $116 through Amazon, compare that with the Arctis 7p at $223, and they were the better option. I have the Arctis 9x which I love for my Xbox, and I’ve used them on my PS4/5, but unfortunately the mic isn’t compatible.
I had one and it’s great but be weary if you lose the usb or it breaks you’re shit out of luck. You can’t get a new one as it’s built for yours only so you’re stuck using a cord.

They are plenty in store where I'm at. Let me know if the pulse 3d are any good and worth buying. I have beats studio, sony xp headphones and turtle beaches do i really need these?
I’m confused on his explanation of the 3D audio, if it’s 3D then can’t you hear what’s in front and behind you? If it can simulate above and below sound, so why can’t they simulate front and back?
If you spend a little bit more you can get the steel series 7 or 7p. Or if you're willing to pay double the price the 9. It's much better than Sony own
I love the sound of the headset. Especially with fps games. However my only beef with it is it’s connectivity. I believe I can improve it though by adding a usb 3.0 extension cable to get my usb a bit closer to the headset.

I’m from the UK and deciding between the two headsets and this helped so much , thank you
@@qyoutube1246 I'm glad I was able to help. 😁
Dude, the best pro tip u have given me is the use of beanie hat then headphones. My ear area and scalp can get sweaty and oily so i think ima buy a ton of beanie from now on and maybe cut holes in the ear area just to get the clear sound through. Thanks man!
What I need is the charging stand, didn’t know that would be hard to get its basically impossible to get. I knew I should’ve gotten it before😑🤬
same. I feel you. I feel like a dumbA$$ for not getting it when I had the chance. now its like $70. >=(
Playstation direct has the charging station in stock
@@TheGjergj79 wait, what’s that?
@@ripper1sd195 Sony's website you can buy games, systems, and games from there. If you have a ps plus account you get free 2 day shipping
@@TheGjergj79 yeah just saw, too late on that one...F*** I’ll just wait
If you're gaming in a couch, the Arctis' volume "wheels" will constantly turn when touching your couch or your hoodie.
How much comfort do you want while your wearing a beanie? Lol
I may have missed it, but I didn't notice it being mentioned that you can also use the Pulse 3D headset with an analog plug which won't use battery.
One thing that drives me crazy, is the volume limits on most headsets. Some at least have a volume control on them, but when they don't the sound slider on console in my experience is set kind of low for my liking
You now can adjust EQ for the headset
Lmao part where he has the headset over the beanie .. gawd just show the awful hair line
JB i see you got comfortable with yours lololol 😉
The razer kaira pros are more compatible with the ps5 b/c it has its own habtic feedback
Sony is also an audio company, this is one of the reason why Sony/playstation can get their headset/headphones on target
You should do a Pulse 3d vs Ps Platinum headset.
That's what I've been looking for
Yes! Why isn’t this out there. Platinum has better drivers. Does it out perform the 3D pulse or not!? I’m wondering if Sony is scrubbing the net so they can sell Pulse kits, haha
What if he had flowing locks like a Prince Charming under that beanie?
Like fin from adventure time
3D audio is an upgrade from 7.1 headsets.. keep that in mind
I really want that headset Superbad. I just want it because it’s new and for the ps5
Me too bro
Seems like the wrong reason to want something
You clearly don’t have an IQ above room temperature

I own the Sony Platinum headset and I couldn’t be happier.
Oh yeah you're right! Completely forgot about it and I owned a pair on ps3
Fine-tuned for 3D Audio
The PULSE 3D wireless headset has been specifically tuned to deliver the 3D Audio made possible by the PlayStation®5 console.
The fucking audio sounds the exact damn same. But maybe it's because there aren't any true NEXT GEN games yet. Demon souls is a remake so gtfo here with that. 3D audio is REGULAR AUDIO. Don't be fooled.
I've owned since day one launch. Played about 6 different games now.
@@MrDionstarrr Thanks for the info! So sad though the 3D audio was all hype at this point.
It’s more accurate to compare it to the platinum headset not the gold because the only similarities is the price point the platinum is the one with 3D audio like the PS5 headset.
Doing headphone audio tests while wearing a beanie?
Make a headphone beanie. That’d be sick, and it wouldn’t look wierd
Now we know that PSVR2 will use front usb c. So this is the reason why pulse3d uses usb A. and we know that it fits over psvr2 also
I bought the Arctis 7P yesterday and they hurt my ears after playing for some hours
Pulse 3D drives me nuts considering it’s just a way to avoid Dolby Atmos licensing fees. Dolby’s sole purpose is audio and the continuation of improving that audio. 3D audio will be good enough but never great.
I wonder if he wears that beanie 24/7 ??? Like wake up beanie eat beanie sleep beanie....headset reviews..beanie

I came here to hear about the PS headset and all ive heard is about the 7P
Just bought the pulse 3d headset here in Australia for $116 through Amazon, compare that with the Arctis 7p at $223, and they were the better option. I have the Arctis 9x which I love for my Xbox, and I’ve used them on my PS4/5, but unfortunately the mic isn’t compatible.
I had one and it’s great but be weary if you lose the usb or it breaks you’re shit out of luck. You can’t get a new one as it’s built for yours only so you’re stuck using a cord.
got the arctis 9 love it, my head hurts after wearing pulse 3D, so i sold it.
Weird
Yeah, I heard that
Why does he not have a million or more subs? This my guy right here and his videos are dope he needs to hit a million. Just wanted to give him his flowers

I see that Persona 5 Royal in the background good taste.
Just walked in Walmart and saw 2 left.. can’t wait to get off and hear how this works 🔥 I been waitin for this since launch lol
They are plenty in store where I'm at. Let me know if the pulse 3d are any good and worth buying. I have beats studio, sony xp headphones and turtle beaches do i really need these?
Hope he reviews the best tvs for the new consoles while wearing dark glasses 😎.
LMAO
I’m dying to find a headset for the PS5 where I can turn down the chat volume and turn up the game volume on the headset
Persona 5 royal on the back ground cool
Came for a Pulse 3D review left with a Steel series review...
I was able to use my A50 second gen on my PS5
I’m confused on his explanation of the 3D audio, if it’s 3D then can’t you hear what’s in front and behind you? If it can simulate above and below sound, so why can’t they simulate front and back?
When I got my ps5 I should definitely buy 3D audio headset from Sony
I got mine I really like it’s pretty comfortable even with my thick glasses
If you spend a little bit more you can get the steel series 7 or 7p. Or if you're willing to pay double the price the 9. It's much better than Sony own
Happy Holidays!
Nah, ill stick to my turtle beaches
I just picked up the PlayStation platinum headset online because it was sold out. The pulse 3D headset, I’ve seen everywhere.
this review was sponsored by Tim Pool's beanie
I love the sound of the headset. Especially with fps games. However my only beef with it is it’s connectivity. I believe I can improve it though by adding a usb 3.0 extension cable to get my usb a bit closer to the headset.
