I’ve been using these since launch on my PS5 & man they sound amazing, I know the mic can be better but the sound to me is awesome. I use them on MM & Cold War & I can hear everything surrounding me

They aren't saying that these headsets are bad, not in any way, some of the things he said used comparisons to other headsets that have similar features and price points. That is because some of these like sound quality, can be better represented if you have something to compare it to. And the general consensus for the pulse 3D's is that the Astro 20 and 7P's sound wise are just so slightly better than the Pulse 3D's
I have these, I would say for the price point they are good. Sure there are better headsets, but for the price I have no complaints. I’m also surprised no one really talks about how incredibly light these are, I find them more comfortable than my astros or my G933s for that piece alone.
3D audio is universal for every headset, its just a technology to send a specific noise profile for stereo headphones. Sony just nailed the marketing to make them feel necessary. So far I like it, its a good wireless headset for its price point. Even works like a dream on my pc. I also have small ears so these are awesome haha

I just picked up my ps5 at best buy. The Sony pulse headset was sold out so I went to target down the street, where I was lucky to pick up a set as they were stocking a fresh delivery of the headsets. I'm really impressed with the comfort and the sound quality. Demon's Souls sounds damn good.
The audio in astros playroom with these is incredible. Most folks that complain of volume or impact need to turn the chat slider all the way to game even if you aren’t in a chat.
Also in the ps5 settings you can adjust the 3D audio based on your hearing, everyone has different hearing so there are a few options you can pick from for optimal sound.
While I didn't get my PS5 at retail, I managed to pick up this bad boy from Walmart and these things are bad ass. They are so comfortable that I honestly forget I have them on sometimes. They sound good to and I heard the Mic isn't bad from my friends playing Warzone. My only complaint is that they are not as loud as I want them to be but overall I'm happy and it looks cool.
Just returned my pulse 3d headset. It was my 3rd gaming headset ever and was most uncomfortable thing, for the first week. The 3d audio concept is going to be fire, once a good company makes em for the p5. Went with Astro 40s/mix amp, won’t play without a mix amp again

I cant get over the fact that the SS Arctic series headphones still come with Micro USB port for charging in 2020. Also, there should be no excuse to not have a Chat/Game audio mixer on the headphones if the Sony's have it. I think i will just have to wait till more options become available. One of the best UA-camrs I've found! Excellent detailed reviews! Quick question: When using my Pulse 3d's on the PS5 using the dongle, the audio seems very low. This is after maxing out the headset volume rocker, and game/chat to emphasize game audio. Any idea why the PS5 UI volume slider for the headset volume is set to the lowest position, and grayed out. With other headsets I set this to max and then adjust the headset as needed. Why is this grayed out for this headset? Thanks and keep up the great content. *Subscribed!*
I find the high end on the 1990's gets to be too much over time. They are excellent reference cans but not my preference for long term or casual listening. Great for mixing/mastering though.

I have both headsets to decide which one was better and this video along with the comparison is right on the money. I'm going to the return one of them but I'm torn cuz the aesthetics of the 3D Pulse is just beautiful
I like these because if the battery gets low you can plug it into the controller and keep using them, you won't get all the features while plugged into the controller but you won't have to wait until they charge again to use them.
Hmm this is the second review I've heard that says there's no bass or that it's flat (and I'm not doubting you on it!) but I got mine yesterday and I can't really hear anything that'd be tinny or entirely flat in bass department. I do think the bass sound is very "soft" sounding though, lacking real clarity in bass differences and you don't get any of the epicly booming or thumping bass you get from more expensive music listening headphones. But tinny isn't at all what I hear with the ones I have. Though I haven't tried Demon's Souls as I don't own it. Just makes me think; Have they adjusted the sounds for a later batch after these complaints? I can only hope they'd add some equalization options to the PS5 system menu to adjust them with. Oh but I did btw do the 3D audio adjusting thing where you choose the sound that sound most like the sound on your ear level and I picked the lowest. Could that be a factor? Idk. Returnal sounds great with these!
Personally, I don’t trust other brands. My price limit is a 100$ so these are perfect, as for stuff like turtle beach they either have cheap ones like 20-50 dollars or expensive ones like 150-200. And then for brands like razer that have headphones around the same price, I personally found them super disappointingly bad. For $90 the audio just isn’t what I thought it would be. Seeing all the reviews of these and them being wireless (unlike the razer at the same price) these are definitely something I want to pick up.

Most uncomfortable headphones i have worn. I’ll admit that the head strap was very good, that worked quite well, but the ear cups was just bad. It was way too shallow and didn’t give my ears enough room, and it didn’t encompass all of my ear. This caused a constant pressure against my ear which caused a bit of pain after like 15 minutes and totally broke any immersion. From the outside it looks way deeper than it actually is. The sad part is that these could’ve been amazing headphones for me for a great price, and it would feel super comfortable if only the earcups were just bigger and deeper
@@T1LL3R I agree the sound is good, but it’s nothing too impressive. And the comfortability of headphones is personal. Not everyone has smaller rounder ears. The price makes it good for a casual gamer. For a “hardcore” gamer the Arctis 7p or pro wireless is better in almost every way.

I have an XSX, & I also have the Sony XB900 headphones so I bought a mic adapter for the headphones & they sound great for gaming. They also have the 3D feature so now you don't have to guess where shots are coming from, you can hear exactly where the shots are
SkittleXeroI don't know what everyone has done to break them. I bought mine when they came out and they still work fine. They are great for playing games like Skyrim and Fallout 3.

Actually... you can adjust the lower end in the PS5 settings menu under sound, go to 3-D adjust, and you have 5 settings to choose from. You can go Higher or Lower, this setting allows you to maximize this headset, and is definitely made for the PS5. I set it to lower, and I can hear exactly which direction footsteps are coming from, whether I’m playing PUBG, or Black Ops Cold War. This headset works great.
Those settings are for the shape of your ear. So you setting to lower won't have the same effect as someone else setting it to lower if their ears are a different shape and based on where the ear canal is. It's designed to be as accommodating as it can for multiple ear shapes in a simple way
Those settings as stated... are for how you hear 3D audio, the setting states to set it to the one that sounds closest to you respectively, because everyone hears 3D differently, has nothing to do with the shape of your ears.

I'd have to disagree with you a bit on the bass portion, go a little further into Stongfeng Mines in Demon's Souls and you'll know what I mean. Turn the game audio all the way up on the headset. A big deal for me on the playstation headsets is being able to filter game/chat audio, does the 7p has this ability? Awesome review btw!
I like wearing mine because it feels like nice durable composite material that's also lightweight. They do not feel cheap, even though it's lightweight.
Using any open ear headphones like Sennheiser HD 598 or HD 660. You can clearly hear from where the fire or sound is coming even without 3d audio engine optimization. There is a soundstage to these headphones like you are sitting in a theatre. But if you use a 3D engine or a DAC with them, the soundstage and precision of voice coming become extremely good. I personally think open head audiophile head beat gaming headphones in terms of 3D sound. The only place the gaming head does better is bass, an area where cheap headphones normally triumph. But something bit expensive like HD 660 or Hifiman 400 will beat gaming headphones easily in that area too. The only issue with these headphones is they are expensive and still wired.

Steelseries Arctis 7P or better yet 7X if you want one headset thst works with both next gen systems... Most comfortable and superior sound... but $50 more... worth it in my opinion.

CORRECTION: ANY game you play using these headset allows you to hear noise from every direction, not just Miles and Demon Souls. I play Cold War and Apex all the time, and this headset pin points enemy location me perfectly!
I ended up getting these because the SteelSeries Wireless Pro’s are not exactly “working” with the PS5. They work, but the sound is low. They really need a firmware update, using an HDMI audio extractor fixes the audio issue with in game audio, but chat audio is still really low. I’m not getting the 7p, when I already have the Wireless Pro’s.
Are you using the headphones wired or wireless? I found sound dramatically improves if you plug them into the controller. I first started using this headset with the Wi-Fi USB dongle included in the box, and wasn't impressed with the sound. Changed to wired, and made a huge difference. A bit of a shame, as I was hoping i wouldn't need to go wired... but not a deal breaker. Also, recently played Rainbow Six Seige and the sound is fantastic - bass, mids, treble - all clear.... not sure RS Seige supports 3d audio - i left it on, and it works great.
I’m going to be honest. My rating is a 8/10. The sound is amazing, the battery life could be better but still is good, and the features are cool. However, the ear cups do not fit my ears as they should, mainly because I have larger ears, and it would fit a lot better if it had larger ear cups. However, when wearing a hat it does fix this issue and gives me more clearance from the drivers, it still could be improved. I can wear these for about 1-2 hours without any issues.
Here in Portugal the Pulse 3d costs 90 dollars, and the Arctis 7p costs 180 dollars, which one would you pick? Does the Arctis 7p justifys the large difference price?

It's not cheap but the quality in both build and sound is worth it. All i use is linear pcm and i let the headphones do the work. God of war and last of us sounds really good. Its an open design so it's sounds like surround sound without all that mimic of digital surround
Because console players, like myself could not care less about all the features and shit, we just want something to use, and this thing was 100$, no brainer ! it's not always about owning the best and the greatest, if we wanted that we would buy a PC with a RTX3090 and 32GB RAM with an i9. Console gamers care about plug and play, ease of use and cost, and this headset and PS5 hits all those checkmarks.

About the bass. I know the original Pulse headsets on PS3 had a motor or "pulse" that you had to switch on for a vibration effect that provided the bass. Does these headsets have that feature?
So my Razer Nari Ultimate are still better then these? I wanted to try these out now that they are available because though my Nari Ultimates are excellent they are on the heavy side and fit loose, so if I move my head down the headphones fall off and if I look up to like the ceiling, the headphones also fall off lol!
I just got my pulse ps5 headset, and it definitely is lacking base. Sounds fantastic, but it needs more low end sound. I haven't looked into sound settings on my PS5, but wondering if it can be adjusted on the console. Going to check it out tomorrow after work. Great review!

If you're in a PlayStation chat party there will be chat mix slider built into the mini chat menu. But if you're just in game chat you'll have to adjust via the games audio menu
Love this headset good thing my ears not that big fits almost perfect, the sounds is just fine not too much not too low, that u can’t complain about it,but is a bit better sounds than the platinum because of the 3D surrounds.

If you have $100 the Turtle Beach Stealth 600s g2 are very nice if you can't get the pulse.

Most uncomfortable headphones i have worn. I’ll admit that the head strap was very good, that worked quite well, but the ear cups was just bad. It was way too shallow and didn’t give my ears enough room, and it didn’t encompass all of my ear. This caused a constant pressure against my ear which caused a bit of pain after like 15 minutes and totally broke any immersion. From the outside it looks way deeper than it actually is. The sad part is that these could’ve been amazing headphones for me for a great price, and it would feel super comfortable if only the earcups were just bigger and deeper
Completely disagree. Very comfortable headset with unbelievable sound and 3D audio. 9/10 rating overall. Recommend to both casual and hardcore gamers.
@@T1LL3R I agree the sound is good, but it’s nothing too impressive. And the comfortability of headphones is personal. Not everyone has smaller rounder ears. The price makes it good for a casual gamer. For a “hardcore” gamer the Arctis 7p or pro wireless is better in almost every way.
Also , hyper x revolver s wired are great .!! Awesome customer service too.

These are in stock at all my walmarts now near me. I love mine so far. For 100 bucks they are nice and very convenient. I just wish the bass was a little higher.

I have an XSX, & I also have the Sony XB900 headphones so I bought a mic adapter for the headphones & they sound great for gaming. They also have the 3D feature so now you don't have to guess where shots are coming from, you can hear exactly where the shots are

My turtle beaches I have had them longer and I've thrown, sat on, stepped on and dropped multiple times and they have never once cracked. I always picked up and sat down my pulse elites carefully and they still broke on both sides all the way through.
You mentioned that you have thrown your turtle beach headset.That doesn't sound like you are taking care of them to me.

I’ve been using Astro’s A50’s gen 4 (optical cable) plugged into my LG CX ... amazing sound.
Actually... you can adjust the lower end in the PS5 settings menu under sound, go to 3-D adjust, and you have 5 settings to choose from. You can go Higher or Lower, this setting allows you to maximize this headset, and is definitely made for the PS5. I set it to lower, and I can hear exactly which direction footsteps are coming from, whether I’m playing PUBG, or Black Ops Cold War. This headset works great.
Those settings are for the shape of your ear. So you setting to lower won't have the same effect as someone else setting it to lower if their ears are a different shape and based on where the ear canal is. It's designed to be as accommodating as it can for multiple ear shapes in a simple way
Those settings as stated... are for how you hear 3D audio, the setting states to set it to the one that sounds closest to you respectively, because everyone hears 3D differently, has nothing to do with the shape of your ears.
When I use 3d on warzone they sound horrible. Proper deep and basey sound. Not nice to me. Im guessing warzone wasn't made for 3d audio?

I'd have to disagree with you a bit on the bass portion, go a little further into Stongfeng Mines in Demon's Souls and you'll know what I mean. Turn the game audio all the way up on the headset.

Using any open ear headphones like Sennheiser HD 598 or HD 660. You can clearly hear from where the fire or sound is coming even without 3d audio engine optimization. There is a soundstage to these headphones like you are sitting in a theatre. But if you use a 3D engine or a DAC with them, the soundstage and precision of voice coming become extremely good.
I personally think open head audiophile head beat gaming headphones in terms of 3D sound. The only place the gaming head does better is bass, an area where cheap headphones normally triumph. But something bit expensive like HD 660 or Hifiman 400 will beat gaming headphones easily in that area too.
The only issue with these headphones is they are expensive and still wired.

CORRECTION: ANY game you play using these headset allows you to hear noise from every direction, not just Miles and Demon Souls. I play Cold War and Apex all the time, and this headset pin points enemy location me perfectly!
True but Miles and souls are made specifically for Tempest engine, Much like Gears 5 was made for Atmos.

I ended up getting these because the SteelSeries Wireless Pro’s are not exactly “working” with the PS5. They work, but the sound is low. They really need a firmware update, using an HDMI audio extractor fixes the audio issue with in game audio, but chat audio is still really low. I’m not getting the 7p, when I already have the Wireless Pro’s.

Are you using the headphones wired or wireless? I found sound dramatically improves if you plug them into the controller. I first started using this headset with the Wi-Fi USB dongle included in the box, and wasn't impressed with the sound. Changed to wired, and made a huge difference. A bit of a shame, as I was hoping i wouldn't need to go wired... but not a deal breaker. Also, recently played Rainbow Six Seige and the sound is fantastic - bass, mids, treble - all clear.... not sure RS Seige supports 3d audio - i left it on, and it works great.

I’m going to be honest. My rating is a 8/10. The sound is amazing, the battery life could be better but still is good, and the features are cool. However, the ear cups do not fit my ears as they should, mainly because I have larger ears, and it would fit a lot better if it had larger ear cups. However, when wearing a hat it does fix this issue and gives me more clearance from the drivers, it still could be improved. I can wear these for about 1-2 hours without any issues.
Here in Portugal the Pulse 3d costs 90 dollars, and the Arctis 7p costs 180 dollars, which one would you pick? Does the Arctis 7p justifys the large difference price?

I have a dac amp, beyerdynamic dt 1990 and a modmic . Sure! It's not cheap but the quality in both build and sound is worth it. All i use is linear pcm and i let the headphones do the work. God of war and last of us sounds really good. Its an open design so it's sounds like surround sound without all that mimic of digital surround

Because console players, like myself could not care less about all the features and shit, we just want something to use, and this thing was 100$, no brainer ! it's not always about owning the best and the greatest, if we wanted that we would buy a PC with a RTX3090 and 32GB RAM with an i9. Console gamers care about plug and play, ease of use and cost, and this headset and PS5 hits all those checkmarks.

About the bass. I know the original Pulse headsets on PS3 had a motor or "pulse" that you had to switch on for a vibration effect that provided the bass. Does these headsets have that feature?

So my Razer Nari Ultimate are still better then these? I wanted to try these out now that they are available because though my Nari Ultimates are excellent they are on the heavy side and fit loose, so if I move my head down the headphones fall off and if I look up to like the ceiling, the headphones also fall off lol!

I just got my pulse ps5 headset, and it definitely is lacking base. Sounds fantastic, but it needs more low end sound. I haven't looked into sound settings on my PS5, but wondering if it can be adjusted on the console. Going to check it out tomorrow after work. Great review!

I would get the 3d over the 7P because the chat mixer and usb3. Those 2 things are clutch. 7P is missing both.
The chat mixer is such a dealbreaker but I'm still going to go with the arctis 7p because at least you can change chat mix in the menu.

You can definitely do it on the ps5 itself it’s right on the sound setting when you hit the ps button
If you're in a PlayStation chat party there will be chat mix slider built into the mini chat menu. But if you're just in game chat you'll have to adjust via the games audio menu
