Welcome to the Letterman UA-cam Channel, home to all your favorite clips from Late Night and Late Show - as well as conversations with the writers, producers and performers who helped make it all happen. The language may strike you as quaint & flowery, the clothing comically lacey & ornate - but that’s how things were back in this colorful and now bygone era. - Розваги
In case anyone is wondering, no Ford was not on an episode of Leave It to Beaver. He was never a child actor, and didn't begin acting in Hollywood until years later.
They preferred Chevrolet.
Or so we think.
Buddy Hart aka Buddy Joe Hooker was Chester Anderson
@@dosmundos3830 that was his old name before he changed it to Harrison Ford.
@@jahimjauh-hey5653 🤡
“I poison stuff” was such quick wit. As was “It troubles me now!”
Harrison has such great dry sense of humor and that's what makes his interviews delightful.
He's cool- (a rare commodity these days).
man this feels like another lifetime ago, can't believe I was 15 when this aired. Harrison Ford is definitely still one of my all time fave actors. His dry humor is fantastic.
I was 16. Damn.
He seems so genuine and down to earth.
He's acting.
@@bobfromdenison Uh-huh, AND he seems so natural and at ease while doing it.
Even David Letterman is star struck by this American legend. Harrison is and always will be the man.
And that man is a $hitty pilot!
sorry that place is reserved for clint eastwood
5:12 "I fish a little bit, but I don't hunt."
**crowd cheers**
Poor 'ol fishes, so low on the "care" scale.
I love how Harrison was still willing to smile and laugh in interviews in the 90's --- by 2000, he was pretty much a full time grouch
He was acting.
Pre-earring vs. post-earring Ford.
@@deanladue5367 wow I didn't know about paying out $85 million in a divorce --- no wonder he was a grouch LOL
if you watch any of his dial of destiny interviews, he is back to his smiling/laughing self
Up until then it was "part time".
The role on Leave it to Beaver was actually played by Buddy Joe Hooker, who went on to become one of the top stunt drivers in Hollywood.
He did car stunts for (among others) White Line Fever, Hooper, all of the Lethal Weapon movies, Jade, Against All Odds, To Live and Die in LA, Gone in 60 Seconds (the remake), and Death Proof.
5:00 That's the only time I've seen HF laugh hard in my life!
Truely A Living Legend! 😊👊✊🍁
Harrison Ford is one of the funniest guests on any talk show WITHOUT trying too hard to impress or for the sake of being funny!
Agreed, and I am thrilled that the producers of Shrinking (Bill Lawrence, Brett Goldstein, Jason Segal) decided to take advantage of his stealthy wit by casting him in the show.
No, the funniest is Johnathan Winters and Robin Williams. Ford is cool but not the funniest.
The 1995 version of Sabrina was superbly done. So romantic. And her haircut what is the rate of the 90s.
I like how Dave asks Harrison if he saw any goats, when he's straight-up looking right at the GOAT.
Was he the GOAT yet in 1995?
Points for including a “Last Crusade” ad!
Dave's tie is MASSIVE
Leave it to Indy
I'll always remember how Ford cowered under Calista Flockharts dress at the 2002 Academy Awards when Michael Moore was on the stage commenting about Bush.
Turns out he WAS in a documentary called "The Immortal Beaver."
How about SNAKES on his Ranch?! Has Harrison seen any SNAKES? He hates SNAKES!!
He doesn't hate snakes, but he hated having the tarantulas crawl on him in Raiders.
The FIRST appearance Harrison Ford made on film was with Jim Morrison who refers to him as "Harry" (the stage-builder)...
I noticed they advertised a real/good (also really good) "Indiana Jones" movie on this video. Hard to believe I was in 2nd grade when this aired and my dad took me to the midnight showing of that movie as it was the night before the last day of school. Great memories.
Harrison Ford did not play Chester Anderson in Leave It To Beaver. That part was played by Buddy Joe Hooker. Buddy and Harrison are the same age & look a lot like each other.
They turn that book into IMDB :D
And then fix the mistakes.
Indiana Jones and the Beaver of Destiny!
Now I can pic6 Calista & Harrison playing shoot'em'up on their horses out on the ranch.
Buddy Hart (now known as Buddy Joe Hooker) played Chester Anderson on 15 episodes of Leave it To Beaver.
That corroborates Internet research. A fun fact about Buddy Hart: As Bachelor #2, he won a date with Farrah Fawcett the one time she appeared on The Dating Game. Farrah was introduced as "an accomplished artist and sculptress, she hopes to open her own studio."
Harrison and Dave are legends. The "Sabrina" remake is horrendous.
Wow I always tell people that Harrison Ford was in an episode of leave it to Beaver.. now I feel like a fool..😅
Haha!! I don’t hunt!! I poison stuff!😂👍
Harrison was in TV shows early on in his career, not Leave it to Beaver. I loved him since I was a young girl. I want to wish Harrison a very Happy Birthday today. Harrison, you're the best. Love You Always! ❤️
6:10 "Don't send me one." --Harrison
"All right. You won't get a goat from me." -- David .... LOL 😂🤣
3/19/24, 7:10 p.m.
Ford is the man!
that made me curious to know who that kid was. I looked up the Leave it to Beaver episode. it said his name's Buddy Joe Hooker and was billed as Buddy Hart.
"Don't send me a goat" sounds like he's taking the bit too seriously, but Dave did gift Conan an unwanted horse.
Harrison Ford ALSO is where Dave got his first car.
I’m happy to at least know Dave went through what we youngsters call a “Jimmy Fallon Laugh” phase.
date says 95 why is the ad for last crusade which was 89?
I was wondering why I didn’t remember this airing and looking at the date, I just got my license and car.
Ryan O'Neal was on Leave it to Beaver.
The ears were all wrong ! The fist thing i saw him in was Apocalypse Now !
God I miss this show. Dave and Johnny Carson were the best...nobody today comes close.
I know exactly which kid everyone thinks was Ford. He definitely looked like he could've been a young Ford.
In 1958, Harrison Ford was just an AV nerd at Maine East High School!
Harrison was also in Gunsmoke and Love American Style. Pretty green then. LOL
“Let me tell you. They always treat you right at Harrison Ford.”
I understood that reference
@@moviefan8533 very few do. 😀
Awsome…wish I could tell him myself
According to the IMDb his earliest roles both uncredited were a bellboy pager in the movie Dead Heat on a Merry Go Round 1966 and a "irate motorist" in the movie Luv in 1967. He then did episodes of Gunsmoke, The Virginian, The FBI and Love American Style among others.
I think Dave's onto something about this Ford guy being cool.
Crazy that Letterman doesn’t mention “The Conversation” and “Apocalypse Now.”
Something against Coppola here?
Dunno about Leave It to Beaver, but he was on Gunsmoke.
As far as movies go you forgot to list Harrison Ford in the movie Air Force One
It was Buddy Joe Hooker who played Chester
I remember seeing an episode of Leave it to Beaver with Ford in it .
Then you remember nothing because he was never really on that show!
Kept reseating himself like he had to let one go.
I'd love to be so Rich as to able to have like 3 houses. One in South Carolina, New York City, and another in Florida or Nevada.
This is Late Show, not Late Night like it says in the description. Dave left late night in 93
The band started playing Van Halen's Finish What Ya Started at the end of this interview. I'd recognize that opening riff and drum beat anywhere.
Harrison Ford once retweeted a photo I'd taken of my Women and Children First vinyl hanging on my wall. I wonder if he likes Van Halen.
We'll be right back with Bonnie Hunt.
Buddy Joe Hooker was Chester Anderson.
Sabrina 1995 is not even Close to the Wilder-Bogart-Holden-Hepburn classic which was, and remains, a huge hit
Letterman, it's called "chomping at the bit", not "clamoring at the bit". It's an equestrian reference about a horse that's eager to run. Horses don't clamor and they certainly don't clamor at the bit.
For the unaware like Letterman, the bit is the metal mouthpiece to which the reins attach. The reins are line strips of brain-tanned leather which aid guidance. No. There are no turn signals in a horse, David. You simply pull one rein. Tugging right ribbon of ribbon notifies the horse to turn right. Vice-versa for the left rein. I'd hate to only know city life. It must be sad.
Originally it was "champing at the bit."
Why did Dave list off Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back but not Return of The Jedi? This was 1995, so it's not like RotJ hadn't come out yet.
He spent half the movie as a coffee table; that's not acting.
It's great to see Harrison being a bit goofy
Chester on Leave It to Beaver was actually played by Future Hollywood Stunt Driver Buddy Joe hooker
This could be historic because it was probably the last time that Harrison Ford was on television completely sober
If we have to have celebrity presidents, why can't it be guys like Harrison Ford. He pilots planes, he is a great carpenter and has the whole movie star thing going. He is way more presidential than that orange criminal.
2:45 "acting opereendaaaiiiii" ???? poor latin....
Harrison Ford is reprising the HUMPHREY BOGART role in SABRINA,I do believe.
That's what they said.
lol. The "goat" concern from Harrison Ford is quite valid since Dave sent Conan O'Brien a horse.
hi
Sydney Pollack is gone now, but he was a great director and I thought he was great in Eyes Wide Shut.
I think that was Stanley Kubrick.
@@ArtificialBananaPollack acted in Eyes Wide Shut. He was an Academy Award winning director himself.
He's great in Husbands and Wives, too.
I think he hated being in it because Kubrick did a million takes
Nobody can replace Audrey Hepburn in ANYTHING!
Remakes don't replace anything. Alternate movies aren't replacements. Stop trying to control the world and pretending anyone was victimized or any wrong has been done.
I have no idea what women found so good about Harrison Ford. They all might need glasses.
Hilarious
Funny guy 😂
He’s done so much work
Every time I used to see Steve Martin I used to think of him as a funny Harrison Ford.
And Dan Fogerty is the musical Harrison Ford! 😂
He was cool yeah, but, then he started landing on taxiways. You know just missing 737's in his Beaver!
It's actually champing at the bit.
I'm a huge Cabin Boy fan. And Death to Smootchy is sublime.
These were his grumpy days.
That was a great Beaver episode. Beaver found out the water was going to be shut off, so he collected and sold water around the neighborhood. And you never that people would pay for water in a container.
Ford looks very nervous. Cool?
Dave likes to exaggerate!
I loved the remake if Sabrina it was a great cast
Seems like Ford doesn’t like talking about money and material well-being. May be he finds it rude, may be he’s old-fashioned like that.
Harrison Ford, class-A draft dodger supreme, you are in the same boat as Hanoi Jane Fonda.
more Hollywood's clowns
Considering what nasty old Dave was up to, this one didn't age well.
I have loved his characters in movies, but ugh. Just don't see any charm at all in his real life character.
Yawn
I like beaver.
