"Just One Look" is a song co-written by American R&B singers Doris Troy and Gregory Carroll. The recording by Doris Troy was a hit in 1963. The Hollies, Anne Murray and Linda Ronstadt each achieved great success with the song. There have also been many other versions.
There was and never will be another one like her. It's that simple.
Really surprised more people haven’t reacted to this one. You own the market lol, glad you did this reaction!
🤣thanks‼️Shoutout to my patrons
The pride of Tucson, Arizona! Viva Linda!
Love Linda
Doris Troy "Just One Look" 1963. Other acts have covered the song too, but Linda Ronstadt's 1978 version stands out. Notice how much it sounds like The Pointer Sister's "Fire"?
Oh yes, this song is an oldie Linda brought back from the past. I got to see her in concert, awesome show
God Bless her, she's amazing.🔥♥️
Two songs you gotta hear:
"Roseanne Cash-Seven Year Ache"
"Reba , Linda Davis, Martina & Trisha - On My Own (LIVE '95"
That 2nd song will blow your mind.
If you like Linda Ronstadt's "Just one look" then listen to her 1980's live version cause she blew that song out of the water! But make sure it's her 1980s live version where she performed on Hollywood TV and every song she did was awesome especially "just One look" and "Your no good"! Seriously listen to them both cause in 1980's Linda was absolutely in her prime.....
Actually a cover by Doris Troy early 60s tho Linda hit it out of the park again. Not surprised her and Dusty Springfield did covers as good or better than the original singer.
You should check out Doris Troy's 1963 version. Nothing against Linda but what she did best was bring new life to old songs. She was a singer singer and did it well but she knew a great song when she heard it.
I remember this from a commercial/movie. Linda sounds good she always blends well with her background singers.
Please do TUMBLING DICE AND HEAT WAVE LIVE from 1977 concert in Atlanta , by Linda Ronstadt , the girl rocks !
Linda Ronstadt is the greatest female singer of all time IMHO! With that said, I going to check out Doris Troy’s version based on the other commenters. Love your enthusiasm! 🌺✌️
Thanks for listening
Just one look at you, Empress.
That's all it took! 🥰
Love your channel
👏👏👏👏
Like others are saying, if Linda is 10’s here, then let’s see what all we rate sister Doris Troy’s original… from 15 years before! … Empress, you’ve set a pretty high standard for quality reviews, so hopefully you’re ok that your loyal fans are picking up their game as well. Anyway, stay with it!
Some of the backups band are the original Eagles band members thier style is much like hers
She doesn't shake the lead out until near the end. That whole USA album was like that.
She killed this cover. Circa 1991 (I was 10) there was a commercial for something (I have no idea) that starred Cindy Crawford at a gas station that played this song, and she was so beautiful - I even knew as a gay kid that she was the most stunning woman! (For the record, may fave Linda song is How Do I Make You....so punk and bad ass for her!)
We loved her for her looks and her talent but, we found out she was Mexicána . . ; CARAMBA we flipped out ! Suddenly, Linda could make gold out of mud
Interesting ‼So her background wasn't really talked about
@@EmpressReacts You may know what es like to be POC in a society that thinks only Whites are "american" so, we desperately cling to role-models when we finally get 'em.
But, it was only when she did the album "Musica de Mi Padrre" that we realized she was Mexicána
@@EmpressReacts It was hardly beneficial to be Mexicána even in the music industry.
Only Mexicános are required to demonstrate proof of citizenship
Linda vocals? check out her Spanish songs
Love Linda! Also, in your thumbnail, you were giving a little Olivia vibes...lol
😂dang i've been listening to ONJ that much
Check the live version, even better ua-cam.com/video/IsEwBzfdMnk/v-deo.html
it's a cover.. original 1963
Empress...Hurt so bad
Cover for Doris Troy's 63 tune. Also covered by Anne Murray
Linda Ronstadt is one of my top three favorite female singers of all time. But I definitely agree with the many comments that you have to try the original Doris Troy version. It's hard for me to say this, but I think it is better than Linda's.
