I've never heard those specific critiques of the Constance, nor have I had those issues myself, but we also have very different body types so perhaps that explains it. I think the Constance is actually prettier than the birkin and since it's often harder to obtain, I get more attention when I wear it versus my birkins, so it also brings me a different feeling, but I like both!
That is definitely possible! There's no right or wrong either 💕 just individual experiences 😉 I do think the Constance is stunning, so I can see how it garners more attention 😍

I would love you to do a whole Hermes collection video. I was considering the Constance 18 as an alternative to the kelly as I thought the closure was easier but people say it is still a bit fiddly. Really useful to hear your opinion on the Constance. I may stick to my birkin 30 as well 🙈

just discovered your channel and love this video. I have a black Constance 24 and I need it to be cross body. We measured the length I wanted and send it back to Hermes for a redo of the strap. Took several months (pre-covid though) and it actually didn‘t cost too much.

I like Constance because in a way it’s not as recognizable as Birkin. When I go to the mall or run quick errands, it’s nice to have something cross body. I noticed that I do not use Kelly as much for daily because of sellier style. I love oran sandals as well!
The Constance style is beautiful indeed! And can be less obvious than a B or K ✨ the Orans are just pure love for me 💕

The new Constance is much more acceptable
I suggest putting the heart twilly in a frame and use it as a decorative piece u can always see in your home so its not wasting away in a box

If you do want one, I think exploring the pre-loved market is also valuable! Because you're not spending retail on it and you can still inject the H bracelet in your wardrobe 😉 I will do my H handbags in-depth review soon 💕

Your Clic H bracelet matches your hair! But yeah, I feel you on them...I have two and don't wear them much. I don't have many Hermes items, but my best would be the Evelyne bag and the worst would be my H belt (I think it's called the Constance belt). The sizing on mine with the holes is weird and I just don't like how low it sits. I wish I had gotten another hole/smaller size for my waist, but I bought it for jeans. Barely wear it.
Love hearing that your best item is the Evelyn 💕 Would you be able to ask a cobbler to add a hole for your belt if you think it would work better for you now? They even sell the leather hole punchers online - I've made my own holes to my Chanel belt so I can wear it on the waist and hips 😉
Very interesting. I agree with you on many points. I agree that at many of these price points especially Hermes, you should not have to limit yourself to the season that you can wear it. I understand having bags that may be preferred to carry seasonally, but shouldn't be obligated, because of structure. I struggle with ANY silks even twillys. I love the packaging, but honestly .. I purchased a 12 pack of Twillys from Amazon that work just as well.
I am very big on cost per wear so ideally I like to invest in items that can be used ALL of the time ( Impossible right)?

I need to relook at Oran again! I went to try it once and find the leather rather stiff and didn't feel very comfortable. I prefer the Birkin to Constance too ❤️
Shoes are soooo particular, that I get it! I mean, my Orans are pretty stiff in the leather I have, but I have physically touched orans in much softer leathers, in case that helps 😉💕

I removed Constance from my wishlist bc I wasn’t feeling it anymore, I got Celine mini box bc I love the style so much, I was hoping to get C one day, Celine was the “dupe” , but I seems love my Celine box more and more, I no longer needed the C. your take on the C is fun to watch, and I can see what you mean lol

I totally feel the same way as you on the Constance, I tend to avoid using it unless I know won’t be digging into my bag much that day
I now have a C18 and I must say it feels a lot easier to maneuver than the C24!
Love your video and honesty. Do you think the Constance 18 would be better? Purseonfleek mentioned the Constance especially in epson doesn’t mold to the body.
Better in terms of use? Perhaps, since you can wear that one crossbody and can easily use both hands to open and close the bag. But personally I have a lot of mini bags that I’m not as interested in getting a C18 🙈 I’ll keep the larger size and deal with the hassle 😂
After I bought my Oran’s I wore them almost everyday that summer 😂 best purchase! I have a wider foot so sized up a half size, they took about a week to break in but now I’m planning to add 2 more pairs this summer too 😂

Girl, same about the Constance! I said no to two C24 and C18 this year. I agree on all points. The 18 is even worse than the 24 because it can’t even fit my phone...

It's so nice that you can wear your Oran sandals. I have very narrow and bony feet, so my feet would slide right through them. I opted for the Santorini sandals because the ankle straps help them stay on my feet.

Thank you for your review of your Constance 24. I'm wondering if the heavy H buckle is part of the reason why your bag slips off your shoulder easily. I heard that comment from another youtuber. That would definitely bug the heck out of me too! Now I'm rethinking whether or not to get one. Would you be open to getting a Constance 18 since the strap is longer and therefore you can crossbody it comfortably? Also, I wanted to get your opinion on the Mosaique bag. It has the same infinity strap. The strap in longer on the 17 size and shorter on the 21 size. Do you think that bag will have the same shoulder sliding issue as the Constance because it also has a large metal closure? I haven't had a chance to try one on yet.

So sorry to hear about your struggles with the oran sandals! But the santorini are beautiful too 😍 sometimes I struggle with ankle straps because they rub my heels and I blister too much, so I get scared to try new ones 😭
I think the issue with the should straps might have to do more with the shape of your shoulders and your frame than the handbag itself. Of course, there can be some elements of the bag itself that can make this worse, but I say this because I don’t have the rolling off issue as much when I am wearing lighter layers because the bag will actually stay on my shoulders (I have a relatively larger frame for an Asian woman). But the extra layers sort of ‘round out’ my shoulders, which I think makes the straps slip! I hope this makes sense 🤔 so having said that, if you typically have that issue with the Constance or other handbags that are similarly shaped and sized, I think you would continue to have that issue with the Mosaique bag too.
Personally I am not considering the 18 size - I have a lot of mini crossbody bags, so I’ll keep the larger 24 and live with the fact that I cannot crossbody it 😉
You can fold the strip into the bag then add the longer strip to wear crossbody

Fashionphile has a pretty easy selling process! Or I would check TheRealReal. If you want to sell more directly them eBay or Vestiare Collective are other options too

No bag is perfect all the time unfortunately. I have the internal struggle with almost all my designer bags. I think because we pay so much for them, we expect it to be able to everything lol all pros & cons are amplified/magnified
Absolutely! I don't think there will ever be a 100% perfect bag for every single occasion / use case, but it's all about finding the pieces that work for you in the ways you want them to 😉

Welcome 💕 I think the opening/closing might not seem as troublesome on the 18 given it can be more easily crossbody. But I’m not that interested in a 18 because I have so many mini bags in my collection, I actually like the extra room in the 24!

I've always thought the constance handle looked awkwardly stiff. But I assumed it'd soften over time?
It does soften a bit, but not to the point that it feels like a well worn leather strap if that makes sense. Gravity takes a toll but not enough to soften it all over ✨
I would say that Constance 24 might go well with you better either wear it only in summer time or wear thinner jackets/ coats or lose some weight in winter.

How is it shopping in the Madison Avenue Hermes store? Are the SA nice and do they have most of their collections out for display?
I actually don’t prefer shopping at the Madison Avenue store - I haven’t had the best luck finding a nice SA! But because it is the flagship, there are a lot of items out for display to look at, especially all different handbag styles (no B, K, C on display though)

The Constance wouldn't be for me either, simply because 1. it's a shoulder bag, and I prefer top handle bags, 2. it would be to small for my needs. But I can fully understand all your points you mentioned.

Oh, right, my best Hermès pieces are the Bastias, I use them a lot, two pieces I just recently added to my collection, the Agenda PM Simple (great if you want to take a small calendar or notebook with you) and the notebook Ulysse Mini, and I also like the Guernesey Cardholder and, since I carry coins, the Portemonnaie 24 (something different like the Bastia, less versatile, it's really meant for carrying coins, but definitely enjoy this item), as well as my Silk'In Compact wallet and Coin Purse (the Coin Purse I use for my earphones or as a little catchall).
What I rarely use is a piece many other people rave about: the Calvi cardholder. I suppose I don't have enough cards to fill it up, so it's a little bit "loose", if that makes any sense 🤔. 🤗

New subbie here and LOVE and appreciate your honesty! Love the look of the Birkin but what do you do when you have to go to a public bathroom with that hand held bag? I adore my Hermes punk ring and bracelet-both in rose gold.
Thank you for watching, and welcome! 💕 When visiting a public restroom, I will either ask someone to hold it for me outside, or worst case I will hang it on the hook on the bathroom door. For the occasions I typically carry my Birkin, I know I usually have access to ‘nicer’ public bathrooms if that makes sense! For example, if I’m going on a picnic in the park all day, this probably is not my handbag of choice 😉

It does not pill! Not from my experience at least 💕 But I did forget to mention that when I wear a black hoodie / sweatshirt it does get some lint on it. Not enough for me to be upset about it but enough for me to notice 😉

Oh no, you look gorgeous in those photos with con con. It's not the straps, it's time you want to live in a better body shape for you. I would work my butt out to lose weight and I'm trying to lose 3 -4 kg to attend my perfect weights. It's hard because I like food. 😂 Actually, you can add a piece of fur handle cover. It would help your bag stay on your shoulder and the fur looks so elegant and cute for winter time.
Wow. You are right. The Constance looks beautiful on you. But I do understand what you mean about not getting that yummy feeling about putting it on. I feel that way about a birkin. I feel like I am supposed to love it but I don’t. I never reach for it.

IMO the Roulis looks so much better than the Constance. I prefer "unique" bags so I don't like the big H closure.

I really really wanted the Constance until i tried on my friend's Constance. The straps kept falling off my shoulder and I found it to be very annoying!

I don’t own an Evelyn, but I own a very similar vintage style called the Vespa which I much prefer! I just did an Hermes handbag comparison video on my channel where I share more detail 😉 but the Vespa is very similar shape but much more low key and elegant in my eyes 😍

The only issue I have with any Constance is a Constance in Epsom. To me the Constance is the most beautiful bag, and I would never ever in 1 billion million years separate myself from one of my Constance girls😊💕💫

Do you consider epsom too stiff for a constance? Or you don't like the texture of epsom leather in general? I'm curious why you don't like the constance in epsom 🤔 I would absolutely put the pocket square in a pocket of a blazer, but very few of mine actually have a breast pocket. It's why I haven't found myself using it as much as I thought!

The constance cross body strap is not that long. Kelly is worst to open and close ifvyiu are a seria shopper. I like birkin better for the same reason. It can be worn open.

How do you find the kelly closure? 🤔
So I originally thought I would love the Kelly with top handle and shoulder strap. But I went for the birkin first because I thought the opening would be annoying 🙈 I don’t own a kelly so I can’t say from experience, but I think it could be something I could get used to! At least the bag can rest on my shoulder as I try to close it 💫

One last thing it’s like nobody taught this current generation how to build a wardrobe, y’all just seem to buy a bunch of crap with no thought of how it will better your wardrobe. Make a list of what you are missing in your jewelry some thing that’s missing in your coat something is missing in your sweaters something that’s missing in your pants something that’s missing in skirts or dresses. The list will be constantly changing his new collections come out as things get old and worn but good Lord have some thought into your purchases. I’ll actually have never sold one piece, I have given away pieces that I have literally worn the crap out of somebody who doesn’t mind a gifted piece of a very vintage luxury.
That's absolutely how I approach purchasing items for my wardrobe! But despite best intentions, I still get pieces that don't work out - either my preferences changed or I discovered an aspect that doesn't work for me, but it was something I came to learn once I had the piece. Sometimes you just have to try to know what works for you.
@@myclosettravels As sweetly as I can convey this, money is much more valuable to me than it is to a younger generation. I see so many fashion mistake videos on UA-cam. But I get it, content is a constant necessity in the world of UA-cam creators. In my eye, Epsom leather, looks, feels & wears “cheap”. A Constance is a true ladies bag. It was not built for multitasking. It is not for those in a hurry. It’s a perfect finish to a perfect outfit. It’s for a lovely shopping day and catching a fabulous lunch with friends. It’s for a day in to night. I love seeing it in a box, swift & goat leather.

The size of your Constance is too big, 18 would be perfect. Epsom is also the problem , it’s not a premium leather. Epsom is too plastic feeling
