Your videos are really insightful. In Malaysia and Singapore kelly and birkin 25 in gold etoupe are ard usd25000++×. Totally impostor to own!!! The popular sizes in Asia is 25.
I have the etoupe color Evelyn bag in bigger size there’s no mini before. Love the color that you have. I wish i had bought the mini. I only used it once since I bought it 5-6 yrs ago
@@ycl9234 Wow! Those are like resale prices here! 😳 I hear the Asian market is hyper competitive, more than anywhere else in the world. I can understand why some people fly to Paris. Thanks so much for watching and sharing your thoughts!
When purchasing Hermes pieces, will they be able to pull up purchase history if you are anywhere in the world? For instance, if I’m from U.S. will they have access to my purchase history in Europe?
I really listened to what you had to say. Twice. My experience in a New York boutique was strange. I did feel like the SA was trying feel me out to see what I was able to afford. I paid for my items which were home items that I do like, but when my email popped up, the SA could see what Feild I work in bc my handle was telling of my title. However, there is also a “higher” title within my field and this is what the person assumed was my profession, and then proceeded to ask how long was this higher title. I politely and happily explained the difference between my title and how the higher title should be spelled, which was a few letters away from mine. The SA responded with “Ohhhh, and just looked down”. I instantly felt I will never be offered a bag despite my love for the brand. I have purchased a few lower priced fine jewelry, a few RTW, many home wear items, silks, shoes, belts, but I have sensed the unwillingness to help me acquire items in recent months by receiving the response that I should look online. The SA does love my pet and even saved the photo of my pet as my ID contact info. So, I don’t know what to make of it. But i am very perceptive and I feel badly about how the relationship seems to have changed. For reference, it took me 7 months to go from email to directly receiving the phone to directly text this SA. Just wonder how this comes across to you?
You make such excellent points, particularly about it being about our money and we decide how to spend it and not accepting what we don't really want. It's insane the stories that go around UA-cam about how to score a Birkin.
I totally agree. I had a chance to buy Picotin 18 twice and both times I was not sure I loved it enough , so I let it go. Even though right now it’s a coveted bag and I hear the stock in the US is low. I have not been offered a quota bag yet, but I discussed my wishes with my SA extensively. And a month ago i had a surprising discovery that a 24/24 bag in size 29 and gold color was the one I fell in love with. It was never on my radar and it is pretty rare on the resale market. But an SA showed it to me in the Vegas boutique in a private room. I fell in love but for the price, I had to think a bit. And the SA encouraged me to give it a thought and only buy it if I love it. So I did, and it’s a gem in my collection because of how it’s made, how it feels, how practical and under the radar it is. Hermes does not give customers many chances to see, try and feel the bags. It has to do with a low stock and the customer selection process. My SA in the local boutique told me they only received 5 24/24 bags since 2018 total. And some of them were in size 35, which is pretty big and lacks a shoulder strap. So previewing these items to decide what you want is tough at Hermes. I also agree with the statement that you need to buy what you love. Hermes has an extensive collection of home goods, clothes, jewelry, shoes, watches, and equestrian goods that together present opportunities to find what you love.
First!!! I would say the biggest thing for me is not to buy something just for the sake of buying it or buying an item in subpar condition just because you’ve been looking for it for awhile. These tips are great for any brand! (It was so tempting to buy any classic flap considering the shortage but I knew I couldn’t settle for another color or perhaps crooked flaps!)
Yesss 💯!!! I’ve been accused of being “too picky” but that’s okay because I don’t believe in compromising or settling for less when it comes to spending my hard earned money. Why not wait until we can get exactly what we want, right? Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!
Loved this video! I started shopping at Hermes last year and I have had 3 SAs help me depending on who is available on a given day, they were all lovely. I bought a ring and a scarf I had wanted for a long time and 2 months later I was offered a bag in the exact combination I had wished for. I can't fault the experience and I wasn't sure I really wanted a Birkin until I saw it, they let me take all the time I needed and even suggested I'd go for lunch and think about it before purchasing.
I just learned never to be hesitant about asking. I walked into a Hermes store in New Jersey for the first time ever and inquired about a mini Evelyne. She asked what colors I was interested in and put me on a list .Two weeks later she called and told me that one of the colors just arrived in the store! I am now a happy camper.
If you like to take your notes by writing them down instead of using your phone, I think you'll love the Ulysse Notebook 😊! It comes in three different sizes, Mini, PM, and MM, and the covers are available as more simple covers (practically just a piece of leather with the bottons to put in your notebook refills) or the Ulysse Néo, which has a slip pocket and one or two credit card slots (according to the size you choose). I have all three sizes, and I use them all for different purposes; the MM is probably my least used one. I hope you find one you love 🤗!
Thank you so much. As always, quite interesting and instructive video. It is true that, sometimes, when you are trying to level up your self, for example, investing in a luxury bag, brands as Hermes, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, etc… intimidate a little bit and insecure thoughts make us demonstrate an “artificial” behavior. I think being natural and kind is the key, so I absolutely agree with all your suggestions. Hugs from Madrid (Spain) 🥰😘
Absolutely, I think we’re all tempted to behave a bit different “under the lights” but being authentic is so much more natural and FUN! 😉 Thanks so much for watching!
I feel like I would turn down the color or type that I am not looking for. Why waste money on something that's not what you're looking for? That's like settling for less and spending a lot of money on it. I'm someone very specific. If I cant get the exact same thing I am looking for, I don't spend.
Great video. Thank you. I think the key points here are to not be intimidated and to be yourself. Easier said than done for some but this is something that I have always done and will always do. Well done! When I was in Paris so long ago, I didn't go into Hermes because I didn't feel 'good enough'. Wish I'd seen your video way back then before I went to Paris. :(
Really enjoyed the video 💗! Gold is not my personal favorite color from Hermès (from the neutral colors, it's Gris Étain and Craie / Nata, the other colors... oh boy don't get me started 😂! They have such wonderful pinks and reds, love them 😍!), but glad you got exactly the bags and items you wanted 😊! 💞
I have every intention of buying a jumbo bracelet and a scarf this year and while I would love a Kelly eventually, I know I'll never spend a certain way to force my way into a bag. My plan is to just pick up things I know I'll use often, let them know I want a Kelly when I'm ready, and if it happens it happens!
I’ve been hunting for Garden Party and Evelyn TPM since Nov last year. At one point when I was looking at their bracelet, the SA said to me to make sure I really “want” the bracelet not because I want to build purchase history. I wanted to match the bracelet with the bag that I’m getting so I wasn’t sure which bracelet to get. I guess she caught me at that. I felt relieved when she said that and I’ll just keep hunting until I get the bag I want. Your videos have taught me a lot on Hermes and I appreciate your efforts for doing this :) Thank you! 💕
I love how sensible your SA was with their advice. 👌 My SA often tells me to take my time or to sleep on it. I love working with people who don’t pressure and push.
Frankly is easier to say some of these since you live in NY where there surely so so much more stocks than else where in the world to begin with. Trying one in store will never be possible here. Again not easy to find a pre loved shop here where one can just walk in to try it. The one and only one pre loved here is by appointment and if one really want to just see, frankly i am not sure if they will even want to entertain me even if i am not telling them that. Put it this way, they knew all their clients here for sure. I really hope to try out before going on to my Hermes's journey, to see if i like Kelly or Berkin better. As for purchasing stuff, i agree with you for sure to just buy what one will use and love. I don't mind waiting even for years. Frankly it also has to do with how lucky one is. So you are one of them in this community. I love Hermes because of its quality. I have the CDC bracelet and really love it. Also to add on here, make-up, perfumes don't count into the purchase history because the store that sells Hermes's make-up, perfumes is entirely a separate store. Another words Hermes stores do not carry all these. Anyway, i will go in next week to put in my Wish list because i called and was told i can come in to put in my Wish List. I just told her i am interested in the handbag. Yes i will never be afraid to ask, if i don''t get it, is fine, not the end of the world. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely, I agree it’ll be easier in a bigger city that gets more inventory. I mentioned this in my earlier Birkin Q&A video. I’m hoping the 10 tips I shared will still apply no matter which city, as the video wasn’t about how to score a bag but more about how to feel comfortable and enjoy the process. As for makeup and fragrances, I didn’t even know they weren’t counted towards purchase history. See, I clearly don’t care. 😂 I buy them because I really want/like them. 😉 Enjoy your CDC bracelet (such a stunning piece) and enjoy your visit to the store soon! 💕
@@hellocatwalkcity I am not sure if that count as purchase history or not in NYC. Perhaps they do since all these items are in the same store there. What i am trying to say is that here they do not count it as purchase history since these items are not in there, so the rules every country is different too in that sense. Thanks for your reply.
Lovely collection you have there and thank you for the advice. I would love to get your thoughts on my current situation with my SA. I’ve met with her a couple times now and we have each others phone numbers saved. I directly asked for a Birkin / Kelly on my first visit and she created a wishlist. (I quite frankly did not try to play the game.) Last time I went in she was trying to sell me on jewelry and it really felt like she was pressuring me to buy jewelry in order for her to offer me a bag next year. But I did not love any of the jewelry, I tried on many rings but ultimately said that rose gold just didn’t work for me. She isn’t very warm and I don’t feel we have great chemistry. I did purchase a couple wash cloths before leaving and we talked about B and K again as I had her update my wishlist with the sizes I had in mind. However I don’t feel like she intends on giving me a call for a quota bag based on our lack of chemistry. How can I go about switching SA’s in this situation where she has already created a wishlist for me?
It’s tricky but it sounds like there are two valid reasons to consider switching to a different SA. 1) she’s pressuring you to purchase items you’re not interested in ; 2) lack of chemistry. If I were you, I might consider shopping at a different boutique if you have that option. If not, speak with her candidly and tell her that you’re only interested in select items and that you really have your heart set on a Birkin / Kelly. See how she responds. I think there needs to be some time to build rapport in the relationship before you decide either way. Unless you flat out don’t enjoy shopping with her. In which case, I’d say, switch to someone who you feel more comfortable with.
I commented on your last video too. There’s a limit to how many items/bags the brand can produce considering their items are all handmade by trained artisans in certain (pretty small) countries. The only reason you can get what you want at Walmart is because they sell mass produced products made in factories. Hermes has so many boutiques around the world. I have no idea how many artisans they have or how long it takes for each item to be made but I’m sure it’s not possible to offer all the customers what they want all the time considering the popularity of the brand. There’s got to be a system how they distribute their limited number of items across all the boutiques. What’s the chance of a random customer encountering what exactly had in mind when they walk in? Probably a really low chance. So yes, I agree. People need to ask or they would have to wait forever
I said no last month. I am more neutral color gal and they only had vibrant colors. I am in no rush to get a bag. In the time being I am still buying things here and there that I absolutely love. I am still waiting but it is okay ☺️
Thank you for the clarification. Do you know where is the best place to buy a preloved? I’ve been watching some videos and all the drama to have a bag at store is frustrating. 😢 But your advise to test the sizes and bags at store was great so if I’m not lucky to get at store I’ll go for preloved market.
You can go to the stores that sell preloved bags and try them out. Some places that have brick & mortar stores in some cities - Fashionphile, Rebag, The Real Real.
Talking about rude associates. I saw to my horror how a Prada store employee in midtown Manhattan harassed a humble-looking woman, She was close behind asking her , " are you ok?" I left the store without buying.
Another thing to keep in mind (regarding responsiveness) is that Hermes employees are not expected (perhaps even allowed) to respond to clients on their days off... so that could be a reason why they wouldn't respond promptly. How civil of Hermes, no?!
When I say I write everything down I write everything down lol so I do love notebooks and things like that and I do plan on investing in a really nice case for my notebooks someday 🥰
Hi dear!! Love your tips and very sound advice! Indeed you have very nice mannerism and if i were an SA, you will be the perfect client to serve. TFS hun! 🥰👍
I'm planning on starting my Hermes journey soon!! I'm excited!! ♥️♥️♥️ I just purchased a Chanel jumbo for $4,500 (unboxing coming next week! Good or Bad! ♥️) Next up I'm trying to get a Kelly or Birkin from Paris, so I need to start saving again!! Just need to get that 10k quota 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
As someone who walked into Hermès, asked to see a Pocotin, and was promptly informed there were none available but "feel free to look around"...I kept on walking lol
Awsome vid like always 🥰 I do want and Evelyn not sure the color yet and of course a Birkin some day if not I’m okay with that… if it’s meant to be it is if it’s not again I’m OK with it… i’m so proud of myself these days lol
I appreciate you sharing the things to avoid, and hearing about your great experience with working with your Sales Advisor. Any suggestions for developing a relationship with an SA via phone? I do not have an Hermes store near me. My LV Client Advisor is in a different state, but I work with her exclusively, even though I have a Lous Vuitton store an hour away. TFS!
Great question! I have worked with a few SAs from other brands who are in different cities and I’ve never met them or even talked with them, only text messages. When I purchased items from them, I would always take a photo of me wearing the item and send it to them with a thank you message. I feel like that made it a bit more personal and “real” since I know we’ll probably never have a chance to meet. Perhaps you want to try this too!
The only bag I really like from Hermes is the Evelyne and I think it’s called the Lindy ? I don’t like the madame older lady looking stuff .. maybe one day I will get the hype 🤷🏼♀️
I didn’t like the SA who approached me. So I was browsing and the other SA approached and help me but when it was time to go to register and pay he referred me to another SA(which left me her info card and told me to contact her if I’d like to get something). But I still didn’t understand who was that guy who helped me lol. So when I go to boutique next time I don’t know who to talk to lol Any recommendations?
If I were you, I would reach out to the SA whose contact info you have. If you don’t feel comfortable building a relationship with that person, start fresh the next time you go back to the boutique and see who you might get. Hope this helps!
You mentioned a male SA called you about a bag. Had you delt with him before? Does this mean once you have a wish list and purchase history any SA can contact you regarding a wish list bag?
Your experience is very skewed because you are in NYC. I used to live there and it was really easy to get bags. I moved away and it’s really different in other places.
I’ve shopped Hermès in several other cities and my experience has been positive everywhere but I agree with you about bag availability. There definitely seems to be more inventory and opportunity in the bigger cities. I still think the 10 tips I shared apply regardless of where you are, that is, if your ultimate goal is to only buy what you love and enjoy the experience along the way.
Oh that’s too bad. From what I saw, they brought out samples (bags that are NOT for sale). Maybe not all boutiques have samples available? I can see why they wouldn’t let anyone try on bags for sale because they’re usually all wrapped up and they open the packaging fresh in front of the buying client. But yeah, go to a preloved boutique to check out the sizes!! Enjoy!
Please please please keep those beautiful bags stuffed with paper so they never lose their shape. I have watched so many videos in their handbags be slouching because they are losing their shape. We have so much money invested in a beautiful legs take one minute to restart it when you put it away and it won’t last forever👍🏻
I can't be bothered with the pretentiousness of hermes. It's totally ridiculous considering whats going on in the world!!!! So pathetically materialistic. How ridiculous 🙄 and pointless 🙄
I have a little different perspective. Hermes does sell luxury goods, and they also maintain them. They keep an archive of all their leathers and will service their items of any type or age as long as no one else has messed with them. This is truly sustainable and is why I am interested in the brand. I want quality items that will last the rest of my life.
To think there’s a “game” might be a women’s thing. It’s so hard to get Rolex watches because they are so popular and they don’t carry much inventory at their stores, but I’ve never heard any men say it’s a game. They just accept that the inventory is low, but sometimes you could get lucky and be at a store when they have what you like. Why do people think that Heremes can just train artisans easily and sell as many bags as they want to? The whole point is that these bags AREN’T made in factories but by rigorously trained artisans. Of course the number of bags they sell are limited and they are hard to come by!
Just my thoughts! You know that pinkies on your hands are very unusual and people who are closest to you know you know who you are? :) I do not understand these videos when people try to hide...what is the point? Why are you even here, on UA-cam?

That leather color is peak Hermes to me 😍
Another great video! I love your genuineness and how you think about it all. Thanks!
Aw thank you - appreciate your comment.
Thank you for sharing! These tips can also apply to other luxury brands or any other retailer.
💯! Thank you!
Yes yes yes, so well said!! 👏
Enjoyed watching this video. You are completely correct. We are in control of our money. Thanks for being genuine!
What do you think about the Picotin 22? I See a lot about the 18 instead. Not sure why since the 22 is more roomy
I said no last month. I am more neutral color gal and they only had vibrant colors. I am in no rush to get a bag. In the time being I am still buying things here and there that I absolutely love. I am still waiting but it is okay ☺️
Good for you for not settling! 👍
In what store did you go in NYC? Where would you recommend to start? Thank you for your video!
Great Great points! I've been through a few SAs at Hermes and Chanel... but now I couldn't be happier with the ones In working with 😁👍🏻💜
Aw that’s great! It’s always more fun when shopping with SAs we get along with!
@hello catwalk city absolutely! 👍🏻😍
I always buy what i love! Not just to get the quota bag! There are many goodies other than just bags at Hermes.
I love this! Just be yourself! Couldn’t agree more! 🙂
Talking about rude associates. I saw to my horror how a Prada store employee in midtown Manhattan harassed a humble-looking woman, She was close behind asking her , " are you ok?" I left the store without buying.
Good suggestions ..I have also returned or refused things. You are the customer so I don’t think it makes sense to be scared.
Good o you! I think we need to remember how much control we have in all this!
Thank you for your thoughtful and sincere advice. ~Christina
You’re welcome and thank you for your kind words!
Another thing to keep in mind (regarding responsiveness) is that Hermes employees are not expected (perhaps even allowed) to respond to clients on their days off... so that could be a reason why they wouldn't respond promptly. How civil of Hermes, no?!
That’s great! I wouldn’t want anyone responding back on their day off anyway. We all need a break from work. 😉
Well. Glad click in this video. Love your suggestions.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video, thank you!
When I say I write everything down I write everything down lol so I do love notebooks and things like that and I do plan on investing in a really nice case for my notebooks someday 🥰
Writing is so cathartic!
Hi dear!! Love your tips and very sound advice! Indeed you have very nice mannerism and if i were an SA, you will be the perfect client to serve. TFS hun! 🥰👍
Thank you so much!
Ohh have a lovely time in Paris!!! With or without the bag, hope you have a great time regardless! 🇫🇷
How long it take u to get Birkin? Thanks
As someone who walked into Hermès, asked to see a Pocotin, and was promptly informed there were none available but "feel free to look around"...I kept on walking lol
Yap my husband hates staying in line so I got exactly what I want of course over priced, I love my husband and my Birkin and Kelly bag. 😊happy wife.
Awsome vid like always 🥰 I do want and Evelyn not sure the color yet and of course a Birkin some day if not I’m okay with that… if it’s meant to be it is if it’s not again I’m OK with it… i’m so proud of myself these days lol
If it’s meant to be… exactly! Great attitude! 👍
So when I go to boutique next time I don’t know who to talk to lol
Any recommendations?
If I were you, I would reach out to the SA whose contact info you have. If you don’t feel comfortable building a relationship with that person, start fresh the next time you go back to the boutique and see who you might get. Hope this helps!
That gold birkin is a dream ☺️
Thank you!
Omg, here I'm wondering if I can stretch one leg of chicken for two people. Oh well, I'm elderly and I can continue to lose more weight.
Trying them on for sizes. I wish!! I tried and they said no lol. I’m going to go to a preloved boutique as well.
Enjoy!
I dont like Hermès stuff , I just want Birkin 35 Black , so I think Birkin won’t happen
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Maybe I don't have good taste but never understood the Hermés hype.
❤️❤️❤️
Thx this was helpful
I’m so glad you found it to be helpful!
Why are people throwing money away to get a bag they don’t even want? Just to get a bag? Hermes is really overrated.
Do they not work off commission ? Imagine car dealers holding cars over ppls heads 😂
Hermes sales associates do not receive commission on quota bags
Please please please keep those beautiful bags stuffed with paper so they never lose their shape. I have watched so many videos in their handbags be slouching because they are losing their shape. We have so much money invested in a beautiful legs take one minute to restart it when you put it away and it won’t last forever👍🏻
Oh yes! I stuff all of my bags! Thank you!
I am so done with this company that makes women jump through hoops just to allow them to spend money for their bags. Ridiculous!
There are dupes don't beg for a superexpensive old lady bag
Valid points!
There is no rhyme or reason w Hermes. Period. Go buy a new car instead.
Just be NORMAL 😂👍
🤭
You keep saying whatever it's just a bag but clearly theses bags are everything to you ,your entire identity...
😂 😂 😂 Take it easy, it’s not all that serious. I think you may be projecting.
Just my thoughts! You know that pinkies on your hands are very unusual and people who are closest to you know you know who you are? :) I do not understand these videos when people try to hide...what is the point? Why are you even here, on UA-cam?
Ummm, yeah… this may be one of the strangest comments I’ve ever received here. 😂 For the record, I’m on UA-cam to have fun, learn and share with this community. And you? Why are you on UA-cam as an anonymous viewer?
