    I've been in Israel once for Chanukah and twice for Purim. (Shushan Purim actually, since I was in Jerusalem both times.) I wouldn't travel to Israel for a Yom Tov, as there may be a problem with the second day.
    I love Israeli breakfasts, and the hotels all have great breakfast buffets with various cheeses, breads, pastries, yogurts, and several fish, vegetable, and fruit salads. Eat up. You will need the energy.
    One food problem I have had is that I prefer light lunches, and lunches in Israeli restaurants are anything but light. It is the major meal of the day for most Israelis.
    One of the things I enjoy most about going to Israel is watching my fellow Americans' cultural shock. Even Jewish Americans, especially those from Conservative and Reform backgrounds, have no idea how diverse the Jewish people really are. It is quite different from what is the norm in the US.

    Shabbat known as day of "Strike" I think not, "strike" is when people refuse to work for industrial dispute, Shabbat (Saturday) is a day of rest from daily work. I look forwards to visiting again in the next year ot two, in spring or autumn when the weather is kinder, probably hire a car and tour the country although I fancy riding the trams in Jerusalem and the new railway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

    • @MFPhoto1
      @MFPhoto1 2 роки тому

      The railway is not exactly new. It's been around for years, and it also goes to Ashkelon, Beer Sheba, Haifa, and all points in-between. It is inexpensive and easy to use. Most of the signs are in English as well as Hebrew.

    • @imsbvs
      @imsbvs 2 роки тому

      @@MFPhoto1 I know that railways in Israel are not new, before 1948 the railways linked beyond Israel's borders. However the line and service Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem is new, it has the longest viaduct and tunnels in the Middle East. Also, Jerusalem station is unsually deep underground and requires more than one escalator to get to the surface. Lots of videos on UA-cam about this line.

    • @MFPhoto1
      @MFPhoto1 2 роки тому

      @@imsbvs I have ridden on that line several times over the past 10 years or more, so I would not say it is new. I have also taken the train to Beer Sheba, Ashdod, and Ashkelon. It has had some recent updates, but essentially it is the same line that goes from Tel Aviv through Ben Gurion to Jerusalem. The train is a lot better than fighting the traffic in the over-crowded Tel Aviv-Jerusalem corridor.

    Honestly, when israel passed a law making it a de jure Jewish state it made me sad, because it was obviously done with discrimination against non Jews in mind, an idea that was reinforced by Netanyahu again and again and again. I’m obviously very happy that it has a Jewish character and view it as my people’s ancestral homeland, but would have been happier with it staying de facto Jewish rather than de jure.

    • @Abilliph
      @Abilliph 2 роки тому

      that law really changed nothing, everyone is still equal by individual rights, but not by national rights for his own preferred group of people. it is mainly there to make sure the court won't allow millions of Palestinians in diaspora to return and change the character of the country by sheer numbers.
      In a perfect world, where everyone respect the Jewish people's identity as a nation, and really wants to join the Jewish Israeli culture, such laws are not needed.

    You showed a big Israeli breakfast (like you get at fancy hotels) with smoked fish, while saying breakfast is mostly dairy. This might confuse those unfamiliar with kashrut, who don't know that fish is parve, neither milk or meat. You also might warn people that when they visit, unless they are staying in a hotel, they need to lay in food for Shabbat by at least 2 pm Friday. When my older daughter went to study in Haifa, I warned her of this, but she thought I was exaggerating, and was very hungry for a day.

As hell deserving wrongdoer sinners that we all are we need to reconciliate with our Maker God=Lord Jesus Christ (Yahushua Ha MaShiach) and willingly accept His salvation proposal and confess our wrongdoings to Him which ever they are and repent while there is still time. Only God=Lord Jesus Christ can save us from His judgement towards our sins and from the punishment we all deserve. Which is the lake of fire and brimstone. It is the second death.

      Over Rosh Hashanah, my niece who made aliya came back to the US for the holidays. I asked her about the current restrictions. You can visit now if you fall into one of two categories:
      1. You have immediate family living in Israel; i.e., spouse, children, parents, siblings.
      2. You are part of an organized tour. It can be a packaged tour or a private one. (I recommend the private tours for several reasons, which I won't go into here. They may be a bit more expensive, which is why I would recommend going with family/friends to share the expense.)

    In fact, dear Oren, nobody ever dies. The body & soul die-off forever, but the spirit is eternal & the spirit is who we are. The soul is the personality, character, human identity, & so-forth. It ends. No-one retains their physical mortal body, nor their name, nor their sex, nor anything that had a purpose on Earth but will not in the next-step (Hades, good & bad sides on either side of the chasm) or later, in eternity in either Heaven or Hell. Our consciousness simply transcends from the physical world into the spiritual world per G_d's Holy Word. We're aware here, then instantly we're aware there.

      @@dkitro Not true at all. This is only necessary if there was a ktuba or the woman receiving a gett, or a release from the husband from marriage, but this isn't necessary in all Jewish marriages. There are many mixed marriages in Israel, where the couple was married outside the country but the government recognizes it as valid. This cannot be handled by a rabbinical court since they don't recognize the marriage as kosher & it goes to the family court. You didn't have to go to the rabbinical court, maybe that's what they told you to do, but if you & your wife agreed to have the divorce settled in family court, they have jurisdiction.

      God=Lord Jesus Christ and His prophets see people that are divorced still being married. They find another partner of the opposite gender out of wedlock , it is adultery. Having sexual relations not being married is also adultery. A person that is married and if their partner passed away then that person can remarry again but the other person of the opposite gender has to be single and not divorced. God=Lord Jesus Christ makes the rules and we willingly have to follow them.

    It is said in Eze44:23: "They (the Priests) are to teach my people the difference between the holy and the common and show them how to distinguish between the unclean and the clean."
    About the food, Jesus said in Mt15:11, 16-20: "What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean', but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean'... Don't you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of the mouth FROM THE HEART, and these makes a man 'unclean'. For out of the HEART comes evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what make a man 'unclean'. "
    Yes, from OUTWARDLY to INWARDLY.
    It is also said in Heb9:13-14: "The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are OUTWARDLY clean. How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to G-d, cleanse our CONSCIENCES from useless rituals, so that we may serve the living G-d!
    A clean heart is a circumcised heart that attained by keeping the law as it is written in Ro2:26: "If those who are not circumcised keep the law's requirements, will they not be regarded as though THEY WERE CIRCUMCISED?
    All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments (Mt22:40), as Jesus said in Mt22:37: "'Love the lord your G-d with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandments. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" Amen! Blessings...
