In Europe, having different cemeteries for different religions or even different Christian denominations has been a longstanding tradition. Even in public cemeteries, there may be a Jewish or a Muslim area even today.
Hi Oren, Another great video. I want to make Aliyah at some point though I do not intend to relocate permanently to Israel. Still, I want to be a citizen and part of the Jewish state. I wonder what most Israelis think about that...?
Hi Oren, there is a dearth of "living in Israel "videos in english, things like owning a car, getting a license, buying/renting a house etc. Something to consider!
I follow you for a number of years and yes i found my love in Israël, but sadly for almost 2 years i can't visit, so i am sooooo hoping that the borders will open sooon.xxc
Thank you for your video. Could you perhaps inform us of the current/latest requirements to enter the country w.r.t. vaccinations/quarantine? For South Africans.
You showed a big Israeli breakfast (like you get at fancy hotels) with smoked fish, while saying breakfast is mostly dairy. This might confuse those unfamiliar with kashrut, who don't know that fish is parve, neither milk or meat. You also might warn people that when they visit, unless they are staying in a hotel, they need to lay in food for Shabbat by at least 2 pm Friday. When my older daughter went to study in Haifa, I warned her of this, but she thought I was exaggerating, and was very hungry for a day.
I so want to be married in Israel, but my sweetheart and I have different religious beliefs. We've been waiting through this COVID mess for him to come to America so we can marry. We'll go back to Israel for visits and move back in the future if possible.
Hi Oren. Thank you so much for your videos! I’ve a upcoming trip and I need to order your books. They are out of stock on Amazon. How else can I order them all??? I need to order ASAP. Thank you!
I ordered Orens travel guides about 5 months ago for a trip I'm planning next September if travel is open back up by then, and I highly recommend them they are full of information and worth every penny I paid for them.
It was an incredible culture shock to me as an Orthodox Jew the first time I went to Israel. I guess I assumed that Israel being the holy land everything is kosher and then you realize that it’s not true and in places like Tel Aviv it’s pretty freaking hard to find food that’s kosher with a reliable supervision.
Would love to hear more about the overcrowded cemetery crisis. As well as where people would be buried that aren't accepted by the authorities. Think liberal Jewish converts etc.
Shalom Oren. What happens if you are neither a Jew, nor a Christian nor a Muslim and you Die in Israel? And I don't mean just Atheists and Agnostics, but also Buddhists, Hinduists, Sikhs, etc?
It has nothing to do with any kind of religion at all. As hell deserving wrongdoer sinners that we all are we need to reconciliate with our Maker God=Lord Jesus Christ (Yahushua Ha MaShiach) and willingly accept His salvation proposal and confess our wrongdoings to Him which ever they are and repent while there is still time. Only God=Lord Jesus Christ can save us from His judgement towards our sins and from the punishment we all deserve. Which is the lake of fire and brimstone. It is the second death.
Hi Oren, I like your video's. Me and my family want to visit Israël, in spring next year, do you have any idea how long the quarantaine regulations will last?
Over Rosh Hashanah, my niece who made aliya came back to the US for the holidays. I asked her about the current restrictions. You can visit now if you fall into one of two categories: 1. You have immediate family living in Israel; i.e., spouse, children, parents, siblings. 2. You are part of an organized tour. It can be a packaged tour or a private one. (I recommend the private tours for several reasons, which I won't go into here. They may be a bit more expensive, which is why I would recommend going with family/friends to share the expense.) At least these were the rules last month. I have not heard of any changes. No one knows when all restrictions will be lifted.
@@mottyk8491 My family did take a joint trip to Israel about 20 years ago. It was me with my parents, my brother and his wife and three kids, and my sister and her future husband. It was my Mom's dream trip. Usually when I go, I go by myself and not on a tour. I do sometimes hire a guide for a day if I want to go somewhere isolated, or to which there is limited public transpiration. I don't see a solo trip for me for at least a year. :-(
In fact, dear Oren, nobody ever dies. The body & soul die-off forever, but the spirit is eternal & the spirit is who we are. The soul is the personality, character, human identity, & so-forth. It ends. No-one retains their physical mortal body, nor their name, nor their sex, nor anything that had a purpose on Earth but will not in the next-step (Hades, good & bad sides on either side of the chasm) or later, in eternity in either Heaven or Hell. Our consciousness simply transcends from the physical world into the spiritual world per G_d's Holy Word. We're aware here, then instantly we're aware there.
My American nephew married an Israeli girl and he had to serve in the Israeli army. It was weird seeing a picture of him with a large gun on his shoulder.
Most Americans own guns and shooting range for public is also common here in some if not most parts of the country. I'm just curious why your nephew carrying a big gun looks like a disturbing sight to you. Just curious.
He would NOT be serving in the army unless he either became a citizen or enlisted on his own. A non Israel, even if Jewish, would never be forced into the military.
Hi, Oren-- Thanks for another fascinating video. Regarding marriage, which you spoke a little about: Is there already or is there any chance that Gay Marriage will become legal in Israel? I know that there is a thriving gay community in Tel Aviv, which enjoys liberty, but I am not well-informed on this topic.
I have requested something specific twice and you have not responded, which is odd because you have in the past. Perhaps the subject matter I requested you cover is a "hot subject" and you fear being sensored or worse. Anyway I will continue to subscribe.
Jeremiah 23:7-8 7 : Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; 8 : But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.
Different question: you mentioned that you did a 'WW2' road trip through Europe. Have you made a video about that and if not which countries and places did you visit?
Divorces in Israel do not have to go through the religious court, both sides can choose to have the divorce settled in family court or religious court.
This is false. All civil matters (custody, child support etc.) can be settled in family court but after that you still have to go through the religious court to get your formal divorce papers. Coming from a guy who got married in Vegas and still had to go to Rabbinical Court to get a formal divorce.
@@dkitro Not true at all. This is only necessary if there was a ktuba or the woman receiving a gett, or a release from the husband from marriage, but this isn't necessary in all Jewish marriages. There are many mixed marriages in Israel, where the couple was married outside the country but the government recognizes it as valid. This cannot be handled by a rabbinical court since they don't recognize the marriage as kosher & it goes to the family court. You didn't have to go to the rabbinical court, maybe that's what they told you to do, but if you & your wife agreed to have the divorce settled in family court, they have jurisdiction.
@@scottsimon1 Yes, if its a mixed marriage than you're right. If both are jewish it doesn't matter if there was a Ktuba or not. I wasn't married in a religious ceremony, no Rabbi, no Ktuba. All financial matters WERE settled in family court. And still had to go through Rabbinical Court as well in order to get the official divorce papers just because we are jewish. This is also what Oren said and he's right
@@dkitro It doesn't have to Rabbinical Court if both sides agree, I'm an Israeli lawyer, so I should know. Many Jews settle their divorce through family court.
God=Lord Jesus Christ and His prophets see people that are divorced still being married. They find another partner of the opposite gender out of wedlock , it is adultery. Having sexual relations not being married is also adultery. A person that is married and if their partner passed away then that person can remarry again but the other person of the opposite gender has to be single and not divorced. God=Lord Jesus Christ makes the rules and we willingly have to follow them.
Did you ever made a video on the Israeli undergourd scenes/cultures that tourist would not hear/read about in any books/sites? For example different music scenes..
You go down to the hotel dining room in the morning, and you eat. I recommend eating as much as you can, as you will need the energy for a day of sightseeing. You can choose from a variety of breads, pastries, fish, vegetable and fruit salads, cheeses, and more. Some hotels will have cereal and eggs for American tastes, but if I'm in Israel why would I want to eat like an American?
We should stop talking about judaism as just a religion. It covers the fact that judaism is a national identity and makes people think that we colonized a random place for a religious goal. Jews are natives of judea. So yes, israel is the only jewish state, the same as italy is the only italian state in the world.
@@Travelingisraelinfo I never said you did, it's not your fault, but some common phrases in the begining imply it. Saying that Israel is the only jewish state is comparing judaism to religions. I grew up listening to that phrase, I'm worried about the way they tought us since children to communicate ourselves that is really harmful to our case. There was no doubt in 1948 that jews were a people exiled from Judea, today because of our bad communication people don't know it.
Thanks Oren, you are a storehouse of info for anyone planning to visit Israel. I am a Christian who observes the 7th day Sabbath and the rest of the so called Jewish Holy Days. They are not the Jews days, they are the Lord's or Yahweh's days, Lev.23: 1-2, 37. Keep up the great work.
The context of Leviticus 23 is "speak to the children of Israel and say to them." Keep the 7 Noahide commandments and stop stealing Jewish commandments.
It is said in Eze44:23: "They (the Priests) are to teach my people the difference between the holy and the common and show them how to distinguish between the unclean and the clean." About the food, Jesus said in Mt15:11, 16-20: "What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean', but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean'... Don't you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of the mouth FROM THE HEART, and these makes a man 'unclean'. For out of the HEART comes evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what make a man 'unclean'. " Yes, from OUTWARDLY to INWARDLY. It is also said in Heb9:13-14: "The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are OUTWARDLY clean. How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to G-d, cleanse our CONSCIENCES from useless rituals, so that we may serve the living G-d! A clean heart is a circumcised heart that attained by keeping the law as it is written in Ro2:26: "If those who are not circumcised keep the law's requirements, will they not be regarded as though THEY WERE CIRCUMCISED? All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments (Mt22:40), as Jesus said in Mt22:37: "'Love the lord your G-d with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandments. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" Amen! Blessings...
It has slightly different meanings depending on the context it is used in..Oren is using it like “OK, bye”. Can also mean “come on” or “let’s go” or even “yeah, right”…..it’s a word borrowed from Arabic
No, it is not. Generally speaking there is concurrent jurisdiction between civil and religious courts in cases regarding family law, while other cases are carried out in civil courts. For instance, in the cases that a deceased does not have a will, his property will be split evenly between all children according to civil law ( in contrast to religious law - where only males heirs can inherit )
@@1tokillamockingbird ok.exactly my question answered. I was thinking religious law would apply and only the male relatives can inherit the assets. Thanks.
I lived in Africa and was surprised at the use of religion in Ireland to define people in everyday conversation, but not thankfully legally. I think if Jews in Israel had found a peaceful part of say South America as their state, they would not have to keep proving their authenticity, they could relax, be ordinary people again.
I thought I read that Russia has a Jewish state or region or republic or oblast or whatever the correct name for it. Can you explain how if it has any similarities to the real Jewish state.
the russian jewish state was an propaganda projekt and also there are not many jews who wanted to live in the russian state because jews were discriminated there
Every religion in Israel sets the rules for their members. People of different religions (I don't know about no religion) need to get married outside the country, and the marriage is then recognized within Israel too.
English: from a medieval personal name which ostensibly means 'bearer of Christ', Latin Christopherus, Greek Khristophoros, from Khristos 'Christ'. Compare Christian + -pher-, -phor- 'carry'. This was borne by a rather obscure 3rd-century martyred saint.
when you speak of all these rules you need to speak of why - Jews believe in rising to be like God - MI CHEMO EL - who is like God - (the meaning of the name Michael) - rising above negative elements - such as foods or way of living - yet Jews do not believe in being better than others and hold the idea that salvation is for everyone - regardless of faith (unlike the 2 main faiths that came out of the Jews.)
If you want to show the complete travelling experience of Israel , you shoud show the West bank territories, show palestinian daily life and the illegal settler community among them.
What are the Jews going to do when Joseph comes to Israel and gets his double portion? Israel will no longer be Jewish. Israel will be Israel. The only reason the Jews are being saved first is so that they won't be too overwhelmed by what happens next! . Zechariah 12:7 And Jehovah will certainly save the tents of Judah first, to the end that the beauty of the house of David and the beauty of the inhabitants of Jerusalem may not become too great over Judah. . .
@@dogbert52 as of now she is just ceremonial... if Isreal is to remain a Jewish state it must have a Jewish majority who want it to remain a Jewish state (meaning many jews don't really care about their jewishness) in a democracy if there is ever an Arab majority they can undo the Jewish status of Isreal Having both will eventually lead the abolishing of the other
that's only according to those who see the Jews as a religious group... a group that its majority is secular, and is called after the name of their land of origin, are seen as a religious group...
@@InHisService333 it doesn't change the fact that most Jews are secular. the Torah kept them together. It's like saying the Greeks don't exist without Greek mythology. If you read the Torah you would see it's a book about the origin of the Jewish people and nation, and is filled with rules to preserve that ethnicity and culture. There were no conversions to Judaism when Judea existed, when you joined the kingdom you became a Judean, just like with any other nation. Jews are not followers of Judaism.. would Israel open to individual tourist soon? Enjoying your informative and honest conversations
In 2 weeks I will be making a video about it. Here is a quick summery of this future video - No.

Thank you for your video.
Could you perhaps inform us of the current/latest requirements to enter the country w.r.t. vaccinations/quarantine? For South Africans.
Next week. In short - no good new here...
Beautiful country

You showed a big Israeli breakfast (like you get at fancy hotels) with smoked fish, while saying breakfast is mostly dairy. This might confuse those unfamiliar with kashrut, who don't know that fish is parve, neither milk or meat. You also might warn people that when they visit, unless they are staying in a hotel, they need to lay in food for Shabbat by at least 2 pm Friday. When my older daughter went to study in Haifa, I warned her of this, but she thought I was exaggerating, and was very hungry for a day.
And people should also know, that on Yom Kippur, everything is shut down and closed.
My Big Salute for Israel peoples, people are sufferd lot until they got up like Phoenix.
I so want to be married in Israel, but my sweetheart and I have different religious beliefs. We've been waiting through this COVID mess for him to come to America so we can marry. We'll go back to Israel for visits and move back in the future if possible.
Excellent !!...

Imagine the shock Christians have when they come here and find out that most people that live in the Land of Israel don't believe in Jesus...
If you're a Vegan or a Vegetarian, than
"Kosher" is not a problem!
@@davidtamiran this isn’t true. It’s easier but not easy.
You can visit now if you fall into one of two categories:
1. You have immediate family living in Israel; i.e., spouse, children, parents, siblings.
2. You are part of an organized tour. It can be a packaged tour or a private one. (I recommend the private tours for several reasons, which I won't go into here. They may be a bit more expensive, which is why I would recommend going with family/friends to share the expense.)
At least these were the rules last month. I have not heard of any changes. No one knows when all restrictions will be lifted.
@@MFPhoto1 private tour is any group 5 or more so I your family has 5+ your good to go
@@mottyk8491 My family did take a joint trip to Israel about 20 years ago.

A civil war will break out
I know that they are recognized as couples and that they can have children.
I have requested something specific twice and you have not responded, which is odd because you have in the past. Perhaps the subject matter I requested you cover is a "hot subject" and you fear being sensored or worse. Anyway I will continue to subscribe.
Jeremiah 23:7-8
7 : Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
8 : But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.
Different question: you mentioned that you did a 'WW2' road trip through Europe. Have you made a video about that and if not which countries and places did you visit?
I was a great experience - From Normandy to Stalingrad - France, the U.K, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Poland, Germany and Russia.

Please can you show us/ prepare for us a full Israeli Breakfast
You go down to the hotel dining room in the morning, and you eat. I recommend eating as much as you can, as you will need the energy for a day of sightseeing. You can choose from a variety of breads, pastries, fish, vegetable and fruit salads, cheeses, and more. Some hotels will have cereal and eggs for American tastes, but if I'm in Israel why would I want to eat like an American?
Great Video
We should stop talking about judaism as just a religion. It covers the fact that judaism is a national identity and makes people think that we colonized a random place for a religious goal. Jews are natives of judea. So yes, israel is the only jewish state, the same as italy is the only italian state in the world.
I never said that it is only a religion.

Hi, marriage is complicate. Don't do it. Simple!
Some times, not being married is complicated too...
Actually, marriage can be the most wonderful thing. I've been married 30 years.
Already did. What should I do now?
It is said in Eze44:23: "They (the Priests) are to teach my people the difference between the holy and the common and show them how to distinguish between the unclean and the clean."
About the food, Jesus said in Mt15:11, 16-20: "What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean', but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean'... "
Yes, from OUTWARDLY to INWARDLY.
What is your surname, Oren?
Hi Oren 👋 What does Yalla mean exactly? Thank you

Israel is only 9,000 sq miles but it’s vest safe and secured
How about inheritance? Is that also done according to the religious authority?
No, it is not. Generally speaking there is concurrent jurisdiction between civil and religious courts in cases regarding family law, while other cases are carried out in civil courts.
For instance, in the cases that a deceased does not have a will, his property will be split evenly between all children according to civil law ( in contrast to religious law - where only males heirs can inherit )
@@1tokillamockingbird ok.exactly my question answered. I was thinking religious law would apply and only the male relatives can inherit the assets. Thanks.
OREN, THAT MEANS AS AN AMERICAN I CANNOT MARRY A JEWISH LADY.

What if a non religious Israeli wants to marry a non religious person from a different country? Or a Christian?
Every religion in Israel sets the rules for their members. People of different religions (I don't know about no religion) need to get married outside the country, and the marriage is then recognized within Israel too.
He: Columbus has discovered another country
Me: God has brought people of three religions together on one platform to reveal the real truth
Columbus was a Jew
And vempires. Vempires are cool.
What are the Jews going to do when Joseph comes to Israel and gets his double portion? Israel will no longer be Jewish. Israel will be Israel. The only reason the Jews are being saved first is so that they won't be too overwhelmed by what happens next!
.
Zechariah 12:7
And Jehovah will certainly save the tents of Judah first, to the end that the beauty of the house of David and the beauty of the inhabitants of Jerusalem may not become too great over Judah.
