Israel, in terms of area, travelling time and population reminds me very much of my country, which is Portugal.
Israel looks such an amazing country to visit full of history.

I'm an American Jew living in Florida, USA and thinking of an extended stay in Israel (prob Tel-Aviv) in March 2025 for at least a month. I figure it's about time to visit Israel and I can basically spend my last semester living there full time.

Something I discovered was that Israel is a similar price to the uk, however coffee is a completely different issue. I’ve never been able to drink coffee without sugar. But oh my, Israeli coffee is incredible and well worth 16shekels for a large upside down. I think I’ve found my inner Israeli, between driving. Coffee, hummus and organisations like save a child’s heart, I’m home. Todah. Am yisroel chai. Aliyah is definitely coming soon.

My last two trips, pre-Covid, I was in Jerusalem for Purim, or rather Shushan Purim. The first time the weather was cold and rainy, so not much was going on in the city. So I had to make my next trip over Purim since I got cheated the first time. The second time the weather was great, and after the morning Magilla reading I had breakfast with and spent the day with my niece.

I got to go to Israel earlier this year and it was a most fantastic trip. I really enjoyed the food and drink and I highly recommend getting freshly pressed pomegranite juice from a street vendor it is fabulous. For those of you Christians who want to visit the tomb but don't like how crowded the Church of the Holy Sepulchre is I recommend visiting the Garden Tomb which is in a fairly undisturbed state and is much more quiet and contemplative. Also thank you very much Oren your videos were really informative and helpful for my trip.

I have just returned from 2 weeks in Israel, hosted by Israeli friends. I learned Israelis don’t queue, In Israel there are people waiting and people not lol. When we went to the Church of the holy sephulchre it was busy and there were people waiting, my Israeli friends showed us the Israeli way and we didn’t wait lol.

The most thing that disappointed me the most is not that its expensive to go there but the exchange rate of currencies from Australian dollar to Sheckles. I checked the exchange rate in the internet and 1 ausstralian dollar is about 2.5 sheckles but in the airport the exchange rate is only around 80 sheckle cents for 1 aussie dollar.........

I was in Israel last month, and had loaded the apps you suggested on my cell. I do have an Israeli SIM card, with a number I've used for years. But, some of them, and also some parking apps, like Cello, wanted a mispar zehut, which I don't yet have. Others wanted an Israeli credit card, which you can't get without an Israeli bank account, and I have neither yet.

Thank you for making these videos! Honestly, with the rampant inflation in the US most hotels here are $200/night minimum and $10+ for alcohol. I couldn't find a hotel in New York City for less than $500/night. So Israeli prices might not be too far off coming from the US 🥲
