Hello. I keep visiting your channel, and I am learning more while enjoying each visit. My original visit was to get a sound tone idea of a Matsuoka. I anticipate receiving an M30 made by Rioji (Japan seller). It is not in pristine condition such as the models you use for your videos. The one I am able to afford has several milky white clouds on the finish, hopefully no more moisture damage than that. I have a mid-grade Yamaha G231 made in Taiwan, and I find it delightful and impressive, though the back and sides are not of rosewood laminate like the 240-50 models. This one came to me almost brand new. Apparently, the owner lost the bridge saddle (which we know is plastic) so I ordered a bone blank and carved it down to fit. Thank you for the videos, and for the information you impart on a subject that just fascinates me.
Thanks for the kind words. I am glad you find my videos useful and informative. I am behind with videos requests, I will try to make them as soon as possible. Expect another 50 videos to come so please subscribe to the channel, it might give you an idea what guitar to buy next ;)
Hola, tu canal es muy interesante y ver estas hermosas guitarras. Espero que haga un video acerca de la yamaha c250 o la Suzuki c300.. yendra por si acaso alguna yamha c250?
Hi Neil! Random question: I’d be interested in hearing about guitars which surprised you, either by exceeding expectations or falling short of expectations. Cheers
Hey Neil! May I please ask, if you had to pick between this 1979 YAMAHA GC5 vs a Matsuoka no.50 1979 what do you think is better? Please help! Loved the video
Wow that’s a very good question. It depends on individual cases. I’d go with the Matsuoka no.50. I’ll make a video for this one day, hopefully before the end of this century. Best wishes.
I just bought GC7M 1974 but the top is not so goog many scratz but but as far as I know there are no crack ( hopefully ) by the way do you know the luhier name
Check the photos on my website. Compare the signature on your guitar with mine. You should be able to work out the name of the luthier. If not let me know :)
Hello GO, thanks for the comment. The GC-7 series are wonderful guitars. I played a GC-7 for many years. The GC-7 is a higher grade guitar than the GC-5, but there's a big BUT.... It depends on the manufacturing date. Some older GC-5 guitars are better than the newer GC-7 and GC11, this is due to devaluation and inflation. For example, a Big Mac burger in 1991 is bigger and taste better than a Big Mac burger in 2021, although the name and the price remain relatively the same. Also the labour cost is much cheaper in the old days so luthier spent more time to build a guitar compare to more recent times. The 7S and 7M are the same. The S stands for Spruce, and the M stands for Matsu = spruce in Japanese. The S extension was used for export guitars. I hope this answers your question. Are you looking to buy a GC-7?
Hello Neil, I have had for a very long time a Yamaha G255S and a Yamaha GC-3 1967 version both in pristine condition. Without viewing them in person what would be your estimated value of each of them please in $US?
Hi Neil - another very informative video by you though its a year old :) I wanted to know what composition you are playing at around 2.30? Thanks once again Neil.
Excellent playing! And an excellent guitar!
Thank you very much.
Beautiful.
@@estebangarcia102 thank you 🙏

Sounds very nice! may I know what strings are you using? thank you
Hi, I’m using the standard D’Addario strings.

Try $700 for the G255S and $1400 for GC-3. It all depends on how they sound, but also how much the buyers are willing to pay for it.
@@NeilTaMusic Thank you so much Neil, really appreciate your swift response.

Thank you. That’s something I made up on the spot. I was asked to compose pieces for guitars, maybe I will when I retire in heaven ;)
@@NeilTaMusic Come on Neil! you gotta do it soon rather for all your fans including me!

I wonder if you have opinoin on gc16 model taiwan
Does this GC5 have solid back and solid sides? Thank you.
Hi Nathaniel. I can’t remember.
The guitar was sold a long time ago.
What strings do you put on this ?
Just the standard D’Addario.
Your GC 5 is better looking
