I wonder how much you'd enjoy Company of Heroes (1) Phillip. I absolutely love turtling and building massive armies in both AoE 2 and 3, so you'd think I'd enjoy CoH a lot less. I have to say though, its super cool in its own right. Instead of turtling by building a massive base (its pretty limited) you build huge multi-layered fortifications of barbed wire, sandbags, and machinegun nests. I honestly think you'd love the British, with their death incarnate 17 pounders and Firefly's. But what makes it so cool is the physicality of it. In AoE an arrow feels like this floaty little thing that does basically nothing, but in CoH you can watch individual tank round bounce off the armor of a Tiger or burst through the wall of a building; destroying it. I know you love destruction and just seeing maps get absolutely torn to pieces is extremely enjoyable. Luv u
Just in case anyone is worried, you can totally select the soundtracks from a dropdown menu in options. There are actually 6 different settings for it. Important stuff.
This came in a box of cereal when I was a kid. You could also get THPS2. My poor cheeks loved it.
You have always been my favourite kliksphillip brother
I was anticipating this video! Good one Phillip.
Its like you've described my life and history loving this game, awesome job 👍
boy you just reminded me about age of empires 2 again
this happens like 4 times a year dont worry
Oh yes
Oh yes
filip making video about game I actually play and care about. Its finally happening, AoE is becoming mainstream
Ultima Online. People still play to this day, 20 years later, on official servers, and tons of third party servers.
I love it everytime you talk about fighting bots, I hate tryharding against players constantly. Games are so sweaty nowadays so often I have a hard time having fun
The thing I love about Age of Empires II is that it has great campaigns, great multiplayer and on top of that a good AI. Like... This is probably my favourite RTS. I grew up playing it like so many others and fortunately, it never truly grew old.
Had no idea you play age of empires 2! That’s awesome! I love this game
Cool video. 1:35 We called this back in the Zone "the sim city type of player" 😉😄
This video sparks joy, now I want to see Viper say badaboom after planting on Dust2
Been playing AOE2 since '01 and man, it's so nice to see it remastered. Definitive Edition actually fixed everything that the game really needed!
I honestly would love to watch full matches of yours.
I really didn't know people still play it, I spend my childhood with all my cousins playing this game. Ah those were the days!
I spend like half of my childhood in this game
The first love is the deepest, I’ll always love this game more then any other.
I first played the trial version on PC in 2006 or around then. I love it dearly.
the matchmaking is really fun, would highly recommend
also it's fairly easy to make your own AI for the game (not a good one though) so that's worth a few hours tinkering with imo
I used to play this game online back when it first game out around 2000 on a site they called MSN gaming zone. My parents phone bill was so huge, thanks to this game lmao. But I could never see myself getting back into this game again though, cause i know how good players can be at it online, and I could never re-train myself to get to being that good again.
Tbh I feel the same way about Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth 2 (and 1). Where you could actually try and recreate helms deep lol
They were some of the best games I ever played, Oodles of fun, but no where near as complex as AOE, shame they're no longer supported for multiplayer. But the AI has always been fun
Good video man, hope you're having a great day
Another fascinating lecture... here we go again :)
AoE2 is one of those games me and my friends always come back to.
I love this game, used to play it with my dad when I was younger, and I still do.
So glad you did a video on AOE2
One of my best memories is playing this with two friends in our uni hall, all controlling one civ.
Here i am thinkingyou just made CS videos.
glad this video showed in the recommendations.
bruh the music just makes me smile, used to watch my dad play this and quake 2 when i was a kid and now i kick his ass on both :)
Love the game to death and have probably bought it a bunch of times as well. It's strange that your experience with it is so similar to mine :P I also feel like I truly have gotten somewhat good since Definitive edition. There is something about the quality of life improvements that makes it more fun to get good at.
How is it that just a few days ago i watched his Total war videos and i was like “man i wish there was more of this on his channel” then boom age of empires vid posted 3 hourss ago. Google isn’t just listening Phill is too.
you might want to consider giving that campaign a chance. AoE2 had one of the best single player campaigns of all time (including expansions)
The biggest tournament of the fall is being hosted by MembTV right now. King of the desert 3.
$50,000.00 prize pool.
Surprise surprise that T90 wouldn't have the class to mention it but stopped by to honk his own horn.
Philip is finally playing AoE2 again let's gooo
Everyone should upload more in 4K, this is great
@@2kliksphilip just keep your head away further 4head
2kliksphilip kidnapped 3kliksphilip to force him make AoE gameplays
I played the game with a friend recently and we had the same AI impression you had at the end of the video :D
The bots used to fight until their last castle is destroyed.
Just like Forrest Gump once said "life is like 2kliksphilip channel, you never know what he is going to upload next"
God this makes me feel old. AoE was my childhood
