This is seriously impressive. I do not know Skyrim too well, but I did not know about the Mods option at all in Age of Empires Definitive Edition. Are there any other specific ones worth playing?
Todd Howard has done it again. Also as a tidbit, around Meeko's Shack is where you'll run into a stray dog, and he'll lead you to the shack. Meeko is dead inside, so you basically adopt the dog in his absense.
"Eh, it can't be that accurate" "So now an NPC's pathfinding has bugged out and we can't complete the quest so we'll have to use a console command to fix it" "...Holy shit"

I have never played Skyrim. even so, I have been playing AOE2 for years and am especially interested in the custom scenarios. So I can tell this is SUPER impressive
You aren’t missing much. Skyrim is, for all intents and purposes, quite shallow. The modding community is what’s kept it alive and relevant for the last decade. This looks super cool though
Just got done playing this masterpiece! What a fantastic map! It is so authentic and original. A true tour-de-force in aoe2 mapmaking. Upvote from me haha!
i never was into age of empires, i played it as a child but i only used the world editor to mess arround ( best editior ever existed imo ) but when i saw this rn, id love to play it ngl.
This is amazing, even quests. I dunno why, but AoE2 graphics suit very well for Elder Scrolls RTS game... ES RTS game would be pretty sick. Imagining AoE style game were you choose one of factions like Aldmeri dominion
There has been in 2001 a strategy game made by ensemble studio in the universe of star wars, " star wars galactic battleground" if I recall correctly, wouldn't it be great if we had an actual a strategy game set in the elder scrolls universe ?
I used to make basic RPG settings in AOE II scenario mode. Was a lot of fun. There was a main story that you could get involved in and if you beat hero characters you'd level up your hero unit.
I know they're called function keys, but most people don't so there's no point saying it when giving instructions. It's like saying the tilde key, or the pound sign. Most won't know what you're talking about.
It happens. I was on a 17" screen with 4 lights on my face with half my attention on recording and presenting. Mistakes pop out to a viewer, but if you record yourself for an hour and watch it back a million mistakes you made will pop out to you.
This is soo old school, make me remember when I was teenager everybody used CS and AOE custom thing to make school map, and this stuff, then no more of that everybody would only do stuff for money, skins in cs 1.6 were made by community for free, today a even worse skin cost a lot.
This is amazing! Here's hoping the devs ad support for more RPG elements - travel between maps, with persistent stats/resources, functioning economy, levelling etc. Could be a pretty powerful game engine ...
I cant choose any of the factions by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+any F1-8, does nothing. The only time I can choose is in the menu and only as a blue player. And if I choose all AI, than in the game it automatically gives me blue.
Pretty insane... Who thought it would be a good idea to make skyrim in AOE 2? I mean in a game like diablo maybe but in AOE 2? There were a lot of motivation there.
@@TovKafur What I said was about porting skyrim in Diablo, not Diablo in AOE. Warcraft made so many RPG maps already, wouldn't be so weird to see one in AOE.
Conversion of such magnitude should've been done on Warcraft 3 engine, and you can even replicate the magic and abilities via custom coding. But I doubt one warcraft map could replicate the sheer size of Skyrim. Btw the way they faked terrain elevation with Solitude is just lovely. It reminds me as a kid how I used to fiddling around attempting to create Minas Tirith in Red Alert 2 engine, which use 2d terrain system like this.
Yeah the problem with Warcraft 3 is the maps are way too small and the scale of everything is much bigger. You could do one location on a Warcraft 3 map, so it can't be 'open world' like this. Also there aren't as many graphical assets, with all the different civ designs in AoE 2 you can make all kinds of architecture.
Hello, for some reason de ctrl+shift+F8 is not working for me, i have to manualy set myself as Falkreath if i wanna play as the dragonborn :c is there any other way?
Yeah it's just Warcraft 3 maps are way too small to cover the whole of Skyrim. It'd have to be a campaign with each map being 1 location, but that sort of ruins the 'open world' aspect.
@@GamerZakh Well, in Frozen Throne - Rexxar Campaign, they sort of dealt with small map problem by "location gateways" - Still the same mission, but multiple maps with waypoint transits. But yes, to get something like this AoE2 map, it would need massive downscaling of everything to fit on the largest W3 map available.
Outstanding mod! Wish they let us choose the skin/weapon of the Dragonborn. William Wallace = 2H swords, Huskarl = shields, Beserker = axes, Longbowman = bows, Monk = mage, etc.
Bethesda has traditionally been pretty timid with other genres. Fallout Shelter was their first attempt to do something different. People would easily play city-builders, puzzle games, RTS, etc games set in the Elder Scrolls universe. I can imagine a game like Battle for Middle Earth but it's Tamriel.
This is the basic concept of RPG custom maps in games like Warcraft 3 for the last 20 years. There are amazing maps, especially lord of the rings themed, people should give them a shot as there is still a player base. Infact in WC3 you can load custom skins, so have fully themed characters and terrain for LOTR! I have always wondered why development for stand alone games never tried to copy this model of short 1-2 hour multiplayer RPGs.
Why isn't there a fantasy-based AoE graphic stylized game? i remember there was a Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds one, but nothing with Dragons; only Age of Mythology or Stronghold Legends... but still not comparable.
Notice all the tiny details on this map! Really you can just spend a lot of time just looking at it if nothing else.
This is seriously impressive. I do not know Skyrim too well, but I did not know about the Mods option at all in Age of Empires Definitive Edition. Are there any other specific ones worth playing?
Super awesome video. I am definitely interested in AoE now. Please more Caesar 3 custom maps! I just found Caesar 3 Heaven ❤
You can't have a Bethesda game without bugs, so I say it's pretty accurate.
Even includes the bugs, truly an authentic Skyrim experience
Haha I know! NPCs bugging out is a part of Skyrim
The spirit of Todd Howard permeates everything
Even with all bugs, this Mod probably had a more polished release than Fallout 76 or Starfield. Take note Bethesda.
Where's the unofficial patch? 😂
ikr, the ol' sheogorath messing around again
Todd Howard has done it again.
Also as a tidbit, around Meeko's Shack is where you'll run into a stray dog, and he'll lead you to the shack. Meeko is dead inside, so you basically adopt the dog in his absense.
Meeko IS the dog, his dead owner is just a unnamed nord.
Otherwise... "dead inside"... why steal a depresed mans dog? XD
"Eh, it can't be that accurate"
"So now an NPC's pathfinding has bugged out and we can't complete the quest so we'll have to use a console command to fix it"

Haha the accuracy is crazy.
I'm sure THAT'S a feature
That looks like an interesting concept, maybe this scenario should be made into a full 3D rpg
Hmm, i am not sure if People would like such a Game, seems like you are wandereing a lot around.
dunno, but the game might buggy as hell

The sheer amount of details in the map makes me very happy. Kudos to the map maker, truly a fantastic work! Beautiful!
one does wonder how badass an actual 2D version of Skyrim would be
One imagines Todd happy
As a fan of both AoE 2 & Skyrim, this is just pure bliss.
Ikr!!!
the 'dragon' is a komodo dragon XD
Haha best choice I think
Does that mean you’re a Komodo-Dragonborn?

In the first minute I could pretty much tell what all of the locations were. Very impressive design.

It's definitely scaled down but I didn't even think some of these graphics could mix like that.
such excellent attention to detail
Beautiful! Sometimes I think of creating an RPG campaign map using AoE 2.
Amazing. This is actually first time I saw an ending to Skyrim. :D
and I have over 1000 hours in it back in the days. :D
Lol the ending is pretty much that just feels a bit more spacey in actual Skyrim. A lot of auroras.

Bro, i really love this work.. Maybe if the map has fog and lock camera to dragonborn will be more fun..
One thing I always thought would be cool to have would be Shadowmere, the horse that can tank most things because of his high HP regen.
If you like this kind of map you should try Children of Memories in Age of Mythology, Titans expansion. It's available on Steam workshop ;)
THIS. IS. AMAZING! 🔥
Probably my two favorite games of all time. Very impressive with all the little details included!
