Aoe 2 was one of my first games too, my dad would have his friends over and they'd have massive lan parties. Then after he'd be still wanting to play more, so he allowed us kids to play (me and my brother) it was loads of fun, we only ever played against ai but that made it so we could custom trailer the difficulty so the players that would build a total of 5 spear men within the first 15 minutes (like my young self) would be just enough help to overcome the enemy as my father and older brother built hoards of paladins and trebuchets. As soon as I heard that horn in the beginning I had flashbacks, such a great game. One online match in particular stands out on a mostly forested map with an X shaped clearing running though the map. It was a glorious slaughter between four players that went on for what seemed like hours until I was finally beat back the last guy, destroyed his town center only to realize the bastard had a completely different settlement in the corner of the map hidden away!
