Yea boi Z...Nice lil adventure!
Corydoras we also call them goldfish in Trinidad and yes Kos this type of video is my favorite out of all the types of videos you do would love to see more videos like this one
Yes, goldfish....And we also called them Souci! Glad you enjoyed it and will definitely make more like it!
I know Im kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good website to stream new tv shows online?
@Armando Trenton I would suggest FlixZone. You can find it on google :)
You took me back to my boy days living in trinidad bro catching fish in the river for my aquarium.
Yup...That's what it was all about! having a good time in the river!
KoS M where the new vids at bro I got bad cabin fever your videos help me escape that bro
@@reelblues4075 Lol....Sorry bro! Working on posting more! Another one very soon!
Same here Stefanifs. Started doing this since in the 60's.
Yes would like to see more of these type of vids. We get to see new species that we never knew existed in Trinidad. Also what I like to carry on those missions is a large flat side fish bowl so you can see the fishes better and even photograph them
Great! I will make more for sure! And yes, next time I will, I really did not know what to expect, so will be better prepared next time!
Great video bro FISHON!!!
Thanks bro! FISH ON!
love d background sounds
it was really relaxing to go with the vid
Yes it was indeed! I enjoyed it.
Also very good for Dahl and rice
Lol...Fry dry!
Lovd this one bro
Glad you did bro!
Omg you really is a fish hunter .....
Lol...Yup!
When you swing up on the lady young from the eastern mainroad heading into morvant, behind where the doubles people does be there is a drain. A stream runs into that drain and when I was a kid that had some of the biggest tilapia I've ever seen.
Ahh yes...I know it! I have seen some big ones there in the past....But not sure how it is now...Will have to do some investigating!
You brought back some great memories for me. Those were the days when the satisfaction of catching those fish far outweighed being treated with candid b cream. Love the videos. Keep them coming.
Glad I was able to! And yes....You know it! Always fun! You keep watching and I'll keep making! Thanks much!
We use to hold flour in our hand and put it in the water and those sardines use to come to eat it and we would hold them and make frydry and hops
Yes, I know that's how it was done....Will try it a day! (But in a cleaner river...lol)
Remind me of my ringworm days dey boi..
Haha! The good old days!!!!
Awesome one as always bruh #fishon
Thanks bruh! #fishon
put a piece of small garden or aquarium hose on your net rim for durability... nice fish.. great..
Ahhhh very good tip! Appreciate that! And thanks man!
@@KoSMTT yeah, it will help it last much longer around rocks and snags, etc. most welcome man.. keep up the diversity in your videos..
@@werftv4580 Yes...Never thought about...But very practical...And yes, always trying to mix it up. Thanks again!
I used to have Acaras in my tank when I was a kid all the way in Russia. Finally I saw them in the wild in Surrie river up the Lopinot road. There is a spot with waterfalls there, nice bathing place.
Wow! All the way in Russia! That's cool though. Hoping to visit Lopinot soon!
@@KoSMTT Ya boi :) I am going to be visiting again this April. Will bring my fishing rod this time.

Kos ! Yuh bring back mih boy-days ! Corydoras were known in the old days as "Poui-Poui". Like you said, armoured catfish, relative to the cascadura and "Mama-teta". Yuh didden call out de Crappofish Kos ! An de "Acara", dyse not ah "Coscorob"?
Nice man! glad I could bring back them days for yuh! Good times! Yea...They had a few name like that...And of course the Mama-teta! And yea, I don't know how I forget to mention that the Acara is a cusky! (Cuscarub)
You were having as much fun as a kid playing in the river 😄. We used to call those River Goldfish, but it's been years since I've seen one
You know it! It was realll fun! And yes...Quite a few people call them that! I myself have not seen one for years....So it was a nice surprise!

16:39 I remember when (what seemed to be)100's of these fish were kept in raised ponds at the old Piarco Airport.
They are beautiful fish! Not as plentiful now, as we have had an invasion of tilapia...But they are still around.
Nice change in the videos
Thanks bro! Always like to keep it fresh!
We does call those pre pre
We use to call them Souci....And others pre pre....And river gold...
That fish you referred to as sardines @ 14:12 looks a lot like the head and tail light Tetra
Yes...They are in the Tetra family...But not exactly sure which specific species...
I had some in my aquarium too they so pretty

Thanks bro! Glad you enjoyed it! Always try to bring new, fresh content....Fish on!
Amazing video as always💯.
That local species tank was a wonderful idea, I currently trying build one of my own with just fish caught. I currently have 2 corydoras, 2 pleco, 1 brown catfish, 1 brown acara, 1 blue acara (all caught). I also have one of our local knife fish and one of the freshwater boshay (these were bought though). Have you had any thoughts of building the local tank in 2022?
Thanks bro!!! That is awesome! That's a great tank you have there! Yes! I am going to do the local species tank this year...As soon as things settle down...Will get that up and running! Should be pretty cool!
Good idea i want to start a similar project eventually
We use to call them “ bronze catfish’.
Yes I have heard them called that many times...
we called corydoras '' susie" or "pre pre" growing up
Yes indeed..We call them susie as well...You know the thing!
They are also named prepre
Yes you are absolutely right!
have you ever caught a cutlass fish in trinidad freshwater
No, I really want to! I have not seen one in years!
Try lopinot river nice aquarium fish to be caught there
I will! Thanks bro!
At 7:36 Catch Em All has some big ones
Yea...They grow huge over there!
I hope u took them home for the aquarium
I was going to, but really didn't have anything set up for them. Was not expecting that variety!
@KS Fishing..... Yes I too have been waiting for someone to produce videos like this on our local fishes. Thanks Kos M....keep up the great work. And yes a glass container would be nice. Those sardines would look great in n aquarium. Yes the green acara is beautiful. Do they keep their colours in the aquarium?
Thanks bro! I am glad that I could bring forward the info and that you enjoyed the video. I will do some more with better equipment. And yes, they do keep most of their colours in the aquarium, but it does vary slightly with their mood.
Corydora aneus are nice dont forget to quarentine which part of trinidad is this?
I released the....That's east Trinidad...
i really want some River Sardines i think they are great shoaling fish very much like Piranhas i need at least 8 big or small
Yes, they are actually pretty cool to look at! And just like mini piranhas! very aggressive!
Nice video............ where is this river?
Thanks! That's St. Joseph river.
And Corydorus
Nice!
You have any video using Tilapia as bait
I am not sure....Will make one soon !
Is the Accara and Cuscarub same fish?
Nigel Sookdeo yeah
Yes sir! Cusky!
I would like to get some of these 🐠🐠..
They are found in most freshwater rivers in Trinidad...Just make a look in any of the deeper pools...You will see a variety of species...
@@KoSMTT that river you was fishing in is where ? Pike
I does feed them seven colours to my Uscers
I did that when I had oscars as well!
Hey Kos M can you cook those little sardines to eat and if yes how do you make the preps ????
Yes bro...People do eat them! Similar to fry dry, Scale, gut and cut off the head...Season, did in flour and fry!
@@KoSMTT thank you sir
Loved this very much. Did you use a special Shoe to enter river?
Glad you did man! Just used my fishing boots.
@@KoSMTT Could you be more specific. Like the brand & where to get one.
@@iamsam6239 Just a regular short rubber boots from the garden shop bro...No brand...
Bro do you know a fish called red eye or watermal? I hear it’s a pretty red fish in the arena dam
Hey bro..I know water mal as a different fish...The freshwater boshay or pike cichlid...A red fish?!? Hmm...Will have to do some looking!
How big does the corydoras get
Not much bigger...3 to 4 inches max
Greattttt vid this is where we all started good to see trini still have cory cats and catfish, those stuff are hard to see in the rivers now...you should make a local freshwater tank with fish locally caught. If u thinking about a acra tank put some leaves in it and look at the behavior of the acaras they actually move around the leaves and make there own homes...continue the good vids bro💪🏽💪🏽
Thanks bro! It really was great to see! Did not expect it at all. I will set up a local freshwater tank soon...And try to get every species possible. Acaras are great in aquariums, I have kept quite a few in the past. Thanks again!
Caught one around 14 inches 2 days ago. In a flooded drai .. Rhamadia quelen
If you put the bottle fish trap in there, you could get some good food for the bass
Yes possibly...But if rain fall....It will wash away!
Build it with thin wire mesh and anchor it to the bottom of the river or tie it to a tree.. I used to out those in the drain by us to catch drain fish for food for my turtle
hey guy you really seem to know your fish what line of work do you do guy if i may ask thank you
I have been keeping and catching fish for as long as I can remember...I am in a totally unrelated line of working...Management/Marketing....lol
@@KoSMTT all the very best to you guy in these here troubling time good luck with your hobby
Sadien is very rare in my river
That means the water is not clean enough...
Hey Kos M what kind of fishing rod you have using in the video I might be interesting in buying one ?
Yes it was the dock runner....Got it at mankee's....Real nice lil rod!
I have tank with monster river fish
Cool man! I hope to do a tank like that soon.
Loved this video kos, the river goldfish are my favourite, great for the aquarium. Also I'd like to know which of the gopros were you using to make this video, the quality was exceptional.
