Pulling seine is always a nice experience for ppl to try, I from Rio Claro and grow up being in Mayaro mostly every weekend, the few times I've help pulling seine does be a vibe man
Thanks boi Z! They usually take the boats and drop it a couple hundred feet off shore...On the contrary...Surf fishing there is pressure!!! Realll rough water and current! Never caught a decent fish off that beach!
Do find many Bonefish in these Nets? Seine Netting in St. Croix was one of the reasons the Bonefishery disappeared for decades here. Used to ruining the nets and fishermen would throw them up on the banks to reduce their numbers and save their gear from tearing. Now its the most sought after fish our Clients request (along with Tarpon!) I know there are some Giants in Trinidad and Tobago … folks still eat them or do they release them? Awesome video! Love that you release some of these fellas but still can provide quality food for the locals!
They don't catch many bonefish on this particular beach...I think in Tobago they do get them in nets from time to time...It is pretty sad when they just leave the bycatch to die....Tarpon are still caught and killed by many in Trinidad....But the population is still pretty healthy...Definitely the number one caught gamefish in Trinidad...Glad you enjoyed the video! And yes...Did what I could to release as much as I could...
Nice Kos. I used to live three houses away from the Catholic Church on Church Road. One afternoon a seine netted about 500 stingrays from about 20 pounds and under. They brought all on shore........to die ! Boy, I push my fingers in the gill holes and slid them between my feet back into the water until I was tired. I know that I saved a lot, but quite a few did die on the beach, with corbeau starting to kill and eat others. The seine-men did not see the need to release the school of stingrays before they were beached ! They just brought them on the sand to perish ! I did get a lot of "cuss" from some. " It shoulda f-ing chook yuh. Yuh is a damn arse o' wot ? etc. " Today we suffer because of actions like this !
Thanks man! I remember you mentioning you lived down there... The kinds of things you must have seen...Amazing! That one you described there is very sad...and unfortunate...Just letting them die for nothing...Destroying the eco system....At least you tried your best to release as many as you could!! The net men on this day were actually doing there part to release what they could...It was very good to see that! Hopefully they continue!
I love that the dogs were having fun

@@KoSMTT In my young days, seinemen were quite an ignorant lot about the ecology and the environment. They destroyed the rich seabeds of Mayaro.
Hi
Hello
Were all the sting rays freed?
Yes...Most if not all...I did not see any left in the net or on the beach!
🇹🇹
Last 2 times I helped pull for half hour each time...didn't get nothing for my efforts...
Damn...That is pressure...But that's how it goes sometimes...Probably the catch wasnt that good??
hey kos m im from trinidad too where can i get a rod
Hey bro...Which area are you from? There are a few good tackle shops out there...
@@KoSMTT im from maraval
Such an unsustainable type of fishing
Yes indeed...Not good at all! Hopefully the fisherman can learn over time...
