Question for the cub collector. I stumbled across what I believe to be a D-12 disc plow for a cub. You ever seen one. I cant find any literature on it?
There’s a step made that hooks up over the brake/clutch shaft. Easiest way to mount and dismount is to squeeze between the steering wheel and the right fender
I bought my Cubs to use as garden tractors. Not as pretty, but trailer loads of equipment. Now I just need to make them earn their fuel. I’m really glad you got it, and it does what you wanted. Congratulations.
I think you picked the best cub... You got a great deal... It sure runs and works nice. Not too often you buy an old tractor that you can just put to work right away...
I glad you got a club. Even though I learn to drive on my grandpa B JD when I was in 5th grade he bought a club when he decided that he to old to walk behind a mule so he bought a club with cultivators and when to local IH dealer bought a sickle mower. Loved mower and cultivating with that tractor. Even though I a JD person I would love to have me
I believe a 48 cub should not have the cub sticker on the lower tin. Someone must have added that when they repainted it. Also, it is easier to just get on it from the side. Great looking tractor.
I always say “it’s your tractor and can look how ever makes you happy”. Sounds great, now go work the snot out of it and do some mowing. That’s what I use mine for.
The price of fuel made me re think what tractor to use for the job planned for the day, I used to rake hay with a utility 444 ih, this year I raked with my cub that I restored last year, it did the job perfectly on the flatter fields but labored on some hilly fields I farm.
That's a good sounding little Cub. You can get a lot done with a belly mower. I knew someone that had a Woods flail mower under his Cub. Good little rig.😁👍
I believe your clutch shaft may be worn, when engaging pto theres a colar on the end of the pto shaft that connects it to the clutch shaft. That shaft runs through the transmission right up to the clutch which means to repair the tractor has to be split. So that noise your hearing it it slipping under load. The little rope buddy has holding the engagement lever in place was a sure sign shes had some pto use over the years. But its an awesome tractor I have a 1955 cub and love it currently restoring it almost ready for paint! Keep up the great vids BOOOMMMM!
@@FarmallFanatic ah well that makes sense also, would certainly be an easier fix lol if you ever get a 193 plow for it the little cub will surprise you how well it'll plow, its a joy really
My neighbor use to have one of those and mow with it. I never heard that sound. It also sounds to me like something slipping whether it's the pulley or whatever someone said and intentional or the worn PTO?
Nice little tractor, it will come handy for mowing along the woods and shooting lanes. The Ashtabula County Antique Engine Club is having their big show starting Friday through Sunday. Its a way better show than the one in Saegertown with a lot more permanent displays and a ton of tractors and such.
It seems like it runs and mows really well ! I was going to say you should try mowing the golden rod before you did it . It looks a lot better after mowing it down . I wish we lived close so I could borrow your tractors lol . Thanks for sharing and have a great day !
The blade is set up so that it is fixed but there is also a sling blade attached to that blade when it initially starts turning that sling blade has to catch up to the main blade and I think that is what it is
Now that it's all knocked over you gonna spray weed kill again to keep it down for good? Otherwise you'll never harvest those beans cause you won't be able to mow again once the beans get taller than they are, right? That trick only works once.
DUDE!! SOOO COOL you was able to get it!! :) when choppin weeds and you only need 20 hps, ya don't need to fire up the 700hp BIG BUD .... is the theory , eh? :) SOOOO LOOKIN FORWARD TO MORE VIDS WITH YOUR NEW BARN STAR!

IS THAT YOU ??? i don't kno, that is someones GOAL....
You got a great setup. That mower will do every thing from the yard around the house to corn stalks. I know from experience. Better find out what is causing that noise, not normal.
@@FarmallFanatic I was hoping it was just a slip clutch that needs adjustment. Much worse would be if the key is sheared off and slipping eating up the center bore of the pulley hub ! I am over the top about preventative maintenance, minimizing damage and up-engineering especially when it's such a beautiful classic outfit. Best of luck with your new girl.
There is an after market step available for your cub, it's available on Amazon, it attaches below the brake pedals very easily, it is great for getting on and off easily, I was advised by a mechanic at my local case IH dealer that an inline fuel filter is more of a problem than it's worth, I know from experience that is true, when I did my cub's restoration I too put a Napa filter in line, my tractor would run great for a few minutes then start sputtering like it was running out of fuel, I talked to my mechanic friend about this ongoing problem, I didn't give the filter a thought, it was new, I took it off and ran a solid line, that woke my tractor right up

Cute cub FF, will serve you well. Nerd hats eh! You think of everything.
Lol
I always ran full throttle on a Woods type finish mower to get a clean cut. It keeps the blades from dulling also.
MEERY CHRISTMAS!! BOOM!! I never would have thought.
When you pull or tie down a cub you tie off to the square implement mount below the front if the motor. The front end is weaker.
That's gotta be the best No Sale tractor ever seen 🤔 sure looks good an runs beautifully an the mower is working a dream 👌Red Power 💥💪👍

I always entered the cubs by using the mower as a step. Run that full throttle while mowing. That set up was our lawn mower for 10 years.
I absolutely love cubs. For a small farm you can't beat them.
I just happened to drive by as you were coming out of a Saegertown Establishment after you picked up the Cub.

Beautiful tractor, I grew up in a seat of a Farmall Cub. Our “Cubby” was a four season tractor. Congrats, buddy!
I can't believe I waited this long to get one
Can’t wait for the premiere
What a nice set up
Come time to put up hay, hook a rake on it and be amazed again. The little cub makes a good raking tractor, just big enough to get the job done.
