    I love your videos! My great grandfather had a 140, and I so miss working with that tractor. You are the only one on UA-cam that gives full length video of what ever you are doing; disking, plowing, cultivating etc. And the fact that you share your faith as a believer is awesome too! May God bless you and your family richly, and keep the Farmall 140 videos coming!

      Thank you so much I’m glad you enjoy the channel. As much as I Love working with my 140 and all tractors it doesn’t compare to the peace and love of our/my savior Lord Jesus. Hope to do a subsoiler video soon along with more plowing.

    I just learned by watching your video that you need to put your front tire on the inside of the rear tire track to have the rear tire follow exactly in the same track as the previous row. Something so simple to overlook.

      You are correct, but that path is based on my draw bar being slid to the left one hole at the back and the bail.

    I wish I could make mine as straight as you, I always come out crooked in the middle. I use a Cub and a one row plow, it does as good a job, just takes longer. Thanks for sharing your videos.

    was just looking at your barn, put some new boards on it and fill it with hay , will last longer , worth the time and energy

      I would love to do that. I try to make sure the roof stays water proof cause you loose your roof there goes the barn. Thank you for watching.

    What a great job plowing. I have had a model A farmall for fifty years. I have never been able to start plowing a field and wind up in the middle the way you did. Great job. Nice tractor!!!!!

    Hello Joey. I have watched this video a couple times or possibly more. I just now rewatched it. What a difference your new tires make it . I guess I will spring for some new and larger rears for my primary tillage Farmall. Probably load with beet juice as well. Keep up the videos, I have so much to learn. Stan here.

    I'm impressed with how deeply you could break with such regularity!
    I just work traded for a '75 140 and several implements, and I would like to rely more on it this year, since I did all my plowing/discing last year with others equipment.
    It was my first year row cropping with a tractor, and we did 1/4 acre and learned so much!

    I was abe to run the cultivator thru mine today. It is still a little damp but I plan on tilling it tomorrow and try to get some seed in the ground . They are calling for 1" of rain on Saturday.

    The little tractor that could, ✔Nice job👍 Love that old weathered barn. How old is it? Is it pretty solid other that missing / warped siding boards? Will you patch it up some day?

    • @Jtwes
      @Jtwes  4 роки тому +2

      It’s probably built in the early 40s and yes I would like to patch it up some but money is always the thing that stops you . I do keep the main roof patch up at all cost because as the roof goes so does the wood. Thanks for watching.

      @@Jtwes Joey I realize this is at least a year late, but I to have wondered about that barn. Do you think there are enough of us to do a go fund me for the barn? There would be some really excellent videos of the reasoning and labor involved. Maybe Tony’s Tractor Adventure could/would participate with sawmill timber. Something to think about. I would keep fund some nails, LOL. Stan here, aka the Col.

    Looks like you did a good job there with the 140. Looks like that red clay needs a subsoiler. Have you got a quick hitch subsoiler for your 140? My granddad had one for his 140 and would have to run it through his garden occasionally to break,up that red clay hard pan. That little 215 is a perfect match for the 140.

    • @Jtwes

      That is not red clay. Very sandy. That tractor wouldnt pull a 2 bottom in red clay.

      Hey Jim. That video was a while ago if I remember right it was pretty tight. I’ve always said the 2 bottom plow in the right soil will set the 140 on fire. Thanks for watching.

    I watched you again. Is there draft control on your tractor? I noticed when the motor lugs the plow comes up. That tractor does a great job. Do you know where I can get one of those steps to get on my tractor? @ 70 it is a struggle to get on and off.

    • @Jtwes
      @Jtwes  Рік тому

      It has a draft link if it adjusted right but the driver controls it. Maybe Steiner Tractor would have that step.

    Why do you lower the front lifts while using the plow?

    • @Jtwes
      @Jtwes  3 роки тому +3

      Hey Very good eye. The middle bar adjust the pitch of the plow. Most of the time I drop both levers when I get into the roll and when the plow starts pulling hard and getting to deep you raise the center link back up and it allows the point of the plow to angle up and come back out of the ground till the load comes back off the tractor. Sometimes if I don’t get it fast enough I’m am forced to raise the plow with the rear lift. I only have to do that when I’m pulling the 2 bottom. If I’m pulling a 1 bottom I can just about drop it and forget it. I also use the center bar at the end of a row turning around to get a little more lift off the ground so it doesn’t drag.

      Jtwes In a rectangular or square area like you have, alternate which way you plow each year. Start in the middle next year and work to each side. That will keep from having a ditch or a bank down the middle.
