Never, ever, forget to grease those upper, water pump shaft splines. Those upper (internal) gear-shaft splines, corrode far too easily, which then will destroy the outer splines on water pump shaft as they deteriorate. Have you ever noticed how the lower end, shaft splines last decades? Those upper gear shafts should have been made out of stainless like the water pump shaft. They also would have lasted decades.
Nice job. This water pump looks like a nightmare. Pro-tip: the best lube to use on a new impeller, is glycerin. Any Petroleum based lubes, will damage the rubber impeller.
Thanks for a tip. I've made a small research on web and found silicone to be most widely used safe lubricant for rubber. But my choice was based on what I already have at the moment.

Tada man dilgtelėjo į širdį skausmas, kad tiek daug pastangų, kantrybės ir kūrybos panardinsi į vandenį. Kai skausmas praėjo, pagalvojau: "Juk jei nejaustumei malonumo dirbant, tai ir nedirbtumei. O kur svarbiausias tikslas lėkti ant vandens su vėjeliu? ". Dabar jau ir aš nekantriai laukiu pavasario...
