    *Tip here as well!*
When following people in, take into consideration the kind of bike they are riding.
A shorter travel or hard tail will clear jumps at a lot slower speed than an Enduro or a DH Bike. The lippier the jump, the more this applies.
So when asking some one to tow you in, find someone with a similar travel bike.
Will save a lot of nose casing and collarbones. Cheers!

What I like to do, if the trail supports this method with enough space, is I like to jump to the side if it's not a big jump and I feel comfortable landing flat. That way I can gauge whether or not I can make the gap if it's the first time I try that jump.

I used Blake's measurements on a video he did for a kicker ramp build and built myself one. That helped me tremendously to conquer my fear of gaps. Please do a video showing the math. Bikepark gaps were designed for a specific speed but not all gaps are "designed". When riding blind and alone you need to stop and do the basic math before the "send". I think we are ready for Newton's laws of motion and a more complete summary of trajectory or flight path.

@@richardpayne5176 just a little addendum to my last comment. I think I need a good crash, not a bad crash, to get over myself. The fun is in the risk. Talking about it to someone halfway around the world is pretty cool. Thanks again.

I say that gaps are like tables, just if you don't land them you're in trouble.

Do you really recommend riders to hit new gaps solo??? I usually only do new jump gaps when riding with other people... it feels way safer that way.

I compute all jumps in rag doll body flops.

In my 40's now. Riding in the mountains since I was little. Doing proper enduro for the last 4 years. Still can't mentally free my self. I guess it's a me being in spd's and freelancer (crash and I am without income) problem :(
