The late William Cooper played her songs on his shortwave radio program. She has a beautiful voice. William was an American patriot that loved freedom dearly.
Bill is the reason why I started listening to Judy. He loved the Rose and used it in his broadcasts about the Rose Cross Order. He is my hero, a true warrior.
Judy Collins is a magnificent interpreter of other people's songs, as well as a fine songwriter. I believe this is the most flawless interpretation of the Julie Gold composition.
Just to let you know ~ NANCI GRIFFITH is the correct name and spelling of the musician/singer/songwriter who first recorded this. ~ Thanks for this post. Lovely version by Judy {how could it not be?}.
One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Nevertheless, my dear friends, if we are wrong about which one true God this is referring to then we could be eternally mistaken. What then will you say to God? After all, all of you do have sufficient logic to know that no human, as founder of a religion can help you. He may have been a savant genius yet he cannot pay the debt for your sin that you owe. Jesus Christ the perfect God-man paid the sin-debt owed when he died and then of course he was raised from the dead by God His Father. You can Repent and believe in the gospel or you can continue to reject Him as the majority of people did and do. Flee to Jesus Christ and you will receive eternal life and be born again as he describes in John chapter three.
What debt do I owe for Sin? What sin?. Message- If you really don't want people to eat a fruit don't put a tree in the garden. Of course if you think that people should resist temptation, don't give them minds susceptible to it If you do both these things you have to take the blame and you certainlly don't blame their descendents. People really need to grow up and put childish things behind them. The Bible says that What it doesn't say is Original Sin is one of those childish things but it is

I like this version of Judy Collins.
Thank you so much for posting!
The keyboard guy kicks ass, and there is no one else like Judy.
A classic song, performed by a Legend on the same level as Bette!
First version I ever heard.
Remains the best for me ... a great voice without defect .... Rather exceptional.
Great song.
Great thanks !
Listen to the Nanci Griffiths version
My favorite version of this.
A perfect rendition of one of my favorite songs. Judy Collins is such a class act. :)
Beautiful piano accompaniment and harmonies by the fabulous Joseph Joubert.
Always think of the “bell tone” lead Crystal makes when I hear Judy Collins perfect voice.
FOREVER JUDY COLLINS FOREVER
God bless Judy Blue Eyes!
Lama terbaik yg baru ketemu. 👍
I thought bette milder was the best singer of this song , pls I'm sorry Julie Collins you got it all omg beautiful voice
I mean Judy Collins
Pat Sajak’s show didn’t even premier til 1989. How can Judy perform a show a year before it even existed?!
Ah but this Woman has a Soul- God bless the Victims of the Paris attacks.
Judy is too mellow, I like Nanci, but I am glad to hear Julie. After all, she wrote it!

chrislesbian wrong. The Byrds did it long before Nancy.
+Robert Law That is not correct. The Byrds recorded their cover of the song in 1990. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/From_a_Distance
Written by Julie Gold
Not bad, but a little too delicately done for my taste. I like the hardball delivery of Nanci Griffith or Bette Midler's gutsy rendition.
Nanci Griffith is the best!
Why is not the pianist/vocalist listed?
Down thumb is for UA-cam suddenly (Sept 2024) interrupting with 2 ads before any video. Just No.
no war no disease Malthus would be pleased.

Richard Edwards You just had to take something beautiful and fuck it up didn’t you! Grrrrrr. Evidently you learned nothing from this song.
Richard Edwards If you were having a heart attack, would you prefer that l ask a pastor to pray for you or take you to a hospital?
Please provide proof of God's existence

A bit durgy - I'm afraid - that's down to the arrangement, not the song (of course)
