Just a tip you don’t need to remove any bolts from the upper control arm if u remove just the top strut mount and sway bar endlinks you get enough room to pull the old struts out the bottom 👌🏽
That’s good to know. Thanks
Jus did it💯💯💪🏽
Thanks, ordered bc coilovers today! Appreciate the videos!!
Awesome! Keep me posted on how you like them!
Love your videos man ! I just started following your Chanel because we have the exact same year and model and I’m in the beginning stages of mods.

Nicely done bro
Thanks!!!!
When tightening the rear strut bottom bolt you definitely need to have the strut under normal car weight pressure otherwise the bush will be ruined when you drop the car. I jacked up the hub so that the car was just 1mm higher than the floor jack used under the jacking point. Also it is sometimes impossible to replace the rear bottom strut bolt correctly unless the strut is aligned exactly at 90 degrees to the hub. It is also very difficult to start the bolt as you have to press down the hub. I used a breaker bar wedged between 2 extra length lug bolts to depress the hub. I was only replacing a broken spring but this was not a straightforward job.
Good point. I had to go back a few weeks later and correct this.
Do they have coil overs for 2013 bmw 535i x drive?
What a big difference
Thanks
I have 20in rims and I get my bc coilovers today I hope I have enough gap between the fender and the wheel when installed 😬 thanks for this video 🔥🔥
Share pictures when you get everything installed. Dm me on IG.
@@JohnsonMotorsports Will do, I’m still having trouble installing. Appreciate your reference video!
@@prolific6602 What’s the main problem?
@@JohnsonMotorsports I haven’t installed them yet but I wanted to make sure I adjusted the height properly
@@prolific6602hey man how was the install?
Installing Coilovers on my f10 in a few days can’t wait! Did the rear struts just come out after removing the bolts and that arm you showed in the video or was there more you needed to take off for the rear
Yeah, they just come out after that.
Honestly love those wheels, would probably only have the car 5mils higher for city ride quality. Its beautiful
Thanks man!
Real Nice 👍
Thanks!!!
How you like the BC bro you running DS ?
Ever consider wrapping the v brace behind the grill to match your brake calipers? Even neutral colors such as silver is noticeable and looks cool
Actually, I painted it a few months ago. I have another video of the process. Doesn’t show up that well, because my car has the active vents behind the grilles.
Ahh, I see. Lucky you despite not being an lci you have a very nice spec bmw. that new m sport bumpers gonna look great! #graphitegrey gang 😂
@@khairoberts7098 Thanks man! Really excited to get the bumper on!
Man, that rwd life. Wish bc made them for AWD. now I gotta catch up to you haha!! Looks good dropped btw!
Hey, AWD an’t all bad. Lol! I know you can still get me off the line.
@@JohnsonMotorsports That I can say put you in the seat having that good launch. Had so many diesel trucks try beating me. Its funny. Im saving for those silvers neomaxx coilovers. Also did you get alignment done after the drop?
@@BurrNinja Still trying to get an alignment done. Took the car to my tire shop where I had my wheels and tires mounted and they called me back after 30 minutes because they couldn’t get the car on the alignment rack. It was too low. Lol. Need to find another spot that has a different alignment rack.
@@JohnsonMotorsports low life for ya!
@@BurrNinja True!!!!!
Looks perfect. What size tires are u running?
Tires are front 245/40/19 and rear 275/35/19.
Nice car mate
Any improvments on handling And braking??
I need to choose betwen BC And bilstein B12
Yeah, the car feels much more planted and stable. Love the way it drives.
Hey Grant... Hope you can give me some of your advice.. I'm having the bc coilovers installed next week finally, and wanted to know how many clicks have you found to be the sweet spot? I'd like it to be firm, but comfortable at the same time if that is even possible.. By the way, looking at your video, the ride height on your car looks soooo good compared to stock.. Congrats!!
Man, watching your videos is putting me in the poor house...lol
Love your mods, man. These F10's really shine with the extra love we put in them.. That's what makes it all worth it.. Oh last thing... Those extenders for the rear adjustments??? Have you had a chance of using those? If so where do you run it to be easily accessible?
Thanks again for all the help!
Take care
So my coilovers are set at 14 clicks from full hard. I think the ride is great, but do keep in mind I have the swift springs up front.
Unfortunately, I don’t have the extenders, but I am still considering getting a set.
Hey man I have 13 535i Xdrive was debating either God Speed coils or BC racing coils how low did you go with the coils do they come pre set up at all to a recommended ride height or did you lower it more? Thx for the videos they help a lot🤘🏻
Thanks for the support. I love my BC coilovers and they can go much lower. I actually raised mine slightly because of the bad roads in my area and because I am running wider wheels and tires that will rub.
Nice F10 mods! Certainly gave me ideas for my F10 videos too.
Btw mine is not lowered yet. No approval from the wife :(
Lol. Hey, plenty more mods that you can do. I’ll checkout you videos as well.
@@JohnsonMotorsports Cheers mate. Have fun! Subscribed :)
@@NETTNETTCLUBVIDEOs Subscribed to your channel as well.
Looks great especially with those rims! How is the ride quality?
Ride quality of the coilovers has been great, however I dealing with vibration issues. All 3 of my differential bushing needs to be replaced as well as the guibo. All should be delivered by Friday.
@@JohnsonMotorsports making a video on this? Love the channel btw, just picked up a 2011 535i as a project car with my son!
@@ScaryAF_Entertainment Yeah, I plan to record as much as I can.
Nice, that should definitely be fun. Make sure to knock out those maintenance items first. Then I would do a Oil analysis, to make sure all is well.
@@JohnsonMotorsports thanks for the advice! I have an appointment on Tues to have an inspection done and some maintenance! Then let the fun begin haha!
@@JohnsonMotorsports what spring rate do you have on the front&rare?
did you need new bumpstops or anything that did not come with the coilovers?
No, I was able to install them just as they came.
Hey Grant, coilovers won't ruin the suspension in the longrun?
No, not that I am aware.
How about the Electronic Damping Control (EDC). I thought every F10 comes with this? Do you get any errors when entering sport or sport+ mode?
Not all f10 have EDC. My f10 didn’t. No errors.
@@JohnsonMotorsports thanks for the quick reply. I ordered BC Racing coilovers for my F10 yesterday but I was worried about this. Now I am calm again. Thanks! :D
Only the F10 533i M-Sport have it and only when the owner/previous owner opted for this option as each EDC oem shock is about $615 each, very expensive.... For F10's with EDC that want to go this rout of installing custom lowering coilovers must do a EDC delete and that's another $300 to $400 option!
I like my EDC shocks as they adjust instantly with a push of a button from soft/comfort to very stiff/sport/sport+ and work perfect with my 20" rims so no scraping when hitting pot holes or dips!
@@MrLaloman18 My F10 is an M-sport as well. After I installed the BC Racing coilover kit I got a suspension-error and couldn't enter Sport+ or Sport mode. I had to delete the EDC option (costed me 50euro). Now I only have Sport mode, Sport+ is gone together with Comfort+. I can all change it back to stock when I remount the original coilovers and get the software done for 50euro. I will not sell my M-sport coilovers just in case. I went from 19" BMW 356 style rims to 20" Ström ST3 ones. With the BC racing coilovers the rims and my Bimmer look awesome as hell. Some people said it was a waste of money because the M-Sport coilovers are better and more expensive. But I can't get my car to look as it is right now without changing the coilovers. The ride is still smooth although you feels bumps slightly more and ofcourse speedbumps have to be taken with caution. I am VERY happy with the result. Together with de-chroming the whole car I have one bad-ass looking F10 535i M-sport right now.
Hey Grant. Great video. Do you have the torque values for the rear lower control arm you had to remove to get the rear strut out?
No, sorry I don’t. I just loaded the suspension and tightened.
@@JohnsonMotorsports thank you. That rear bottom bolt was a pain to tighten but it’s all ready to go.
@allindadoe03 Glad you knocked it out!
Did you change or upgrade anything else when installing these ? Or just straight swap
I did a straight swap. Shortly I will be installing Turner Motorsport Mono bearings Thrust Arms and addressing my differential bushings.
how do like the coilovers? ride ok? etc
I love them. Ride is great, much sportier ride. Just have to be careful, because I’m pretty low.
Nice job, What kinda wheels are those?
They are Style 433 replicas. They are stock wheels for the M6.
@@JohnsonMotorsports ty
How are the coilovers holding up after 2yrs? Did your ride height drop any over time?
They have held up great. No, no drop. However I have changed heights a few times.
@@JohnsonMotorsports, thanks for the reply. Your mods are impressive. It's cool how you make the most tedious and complex mod almost "simple". Keep up the great work.
@@NHILLproductions 🙏🏽
Were you running any spacers after you finally lowered the car the ground?
I don’t recall if I had spacers on at that time, but I have a video of the spacers i installed and I have been running them for over a year with the BC coilovers.
Did your rim touch the upper control arm at all? I'm running 19x9.5s and I had to get spacers because the rim and control arm were touching
No, I didn’t have any issues with hitting suspension components.
What size were the rims?
F. 19x 8.5 et 35
R. 19x 9.5 et 37
Continential Extreme Contact DWS06
245/40/19
275/35/19
Does your car have EDC?
Nope

@@JohnsonMotorsports Preciate it bro
What color is your car?
Color is Sophisto Gray. Its a Dark Graphite Metallic.
xdrive?
No, I am Rwd.
How it feels? bouncy?
Ride feels great!!! Not bouncy, but I’m sure it depends on the setting.
@@JohnsonMotorsports awesome. Thanks
Grant how long did this install take?
Man it’s been a while, but I think it was somewhere between 6 - 8 hours.
@@JohnsonMotorsports dang made it look like 2-3 hours in the video 😂
Lol, we’ll keep in mind. I’m also having to record as well, but definitely not 2 hours.
Ride quality?
I really like the ride. I’m on 14 clicks from Full hard, front and back. The ride is much sportier, which is what I wanted.
@@JohnsonMotorsports great I love bc best bang for ur money if you cant afford kw.. thanks looking to get these
