    Just a side note here Brian, make sure to code the DSC with the correct disc size so the ABS/DSC knows when to trigger ABS when necessary. When retrofitting larger brakes/brake discs, you want the ABS to kick in later compared to smaller brakes!

    • @washableaxe

      This is true. The brake bias needs to be adjusted. VO Coding SPBR to HO WORT option will do the trick.

    • @washableaxe
      @washableaxe Рік тому +1

      @@Steven6489 I am 99% sure adding SPBR to HO WORT is sufficient. Anecdotal evidence from people across forums is that FDL coding rotor sizes has no impact on braking.
      THIS IS SPECULATION, but I've heard adding S2NHA to your VO will expose rotor sizes. I don't know how SPBR + 2NH play along together.

    You don't get higher stopping power with larger brake discs, but you can use them more before brake fade from overheating. Braking is tyre limited.

      actually you do get more stopping "power". You just can't use it because as you mentioned, it's limited by tires.

    There was a separate Msport brake option that included these calipers and rotors for the F30 335 and on the 340 it was part of the track handling package. So glad mine came with it. If you can’t find used M3 you can search for the upgraded Msport ones. I’m pretty sure they are the same brakes. There was also a dealer accessory package adding a bigger kit in Orange, yellow or red with slotted and drilled rotors.

    Brian, I need help. I have a 2018 X3 M40i and need rear brakes and rotors done. My local dealership I think is over the top on price. Where do you recommend getting parts? Or is there a brake upgrade you would recommend?

      We offer many brake upgrades or replacements for your car, depending on what you’re looking for! We love to run upgraded slotted rotors and low dust brake pads but also have more OEM style replacements. If you reach out to our team at INFO@KIES.COM our guys would be happy to help you out with more details as well as the specific parts and brands we recommend 💪

    If I have a manual 340i xDrive, do I need to get specific f80 brake calipers or will any M3/M4 brake calipers from my same model generation work? Thank you!

      They are really good with the right pads. Try EBC yellowstuff, no fade.

    is the dsc brake bleed process through ista necessary? thanks

      Not really in this case, the ISTA procedure is good for a full brake fluid service when you flush it all out, but for this it should be fine with just the normal brake bleeding process.
