I still miss Mr. Miyagi to this day. He passed away in 2005. We sure miss you Pat Morita. You did excellent with the Miyagi character.

Kumiko was my favorite but if Daniel married her, there wouldn't be much Cobra Kai drama. This would have been a happily ever after marriage. She would have brought out the best in him and probably others around her.
Mmm maybe not, Chozen was in love with Kumiko too, as revealed in S5 of Cobra Kai. She was the reason why he became who he is now. Without her help, he might have never recovered.
+splurg519 Daniel and Amanda are happily married. It’s only Daniel ‘s Cobra Kai worries that got in the way and Amanda was getting sick of it, but then she realised Daniel was right about everything, including Kreese and Silver.
I love the way Daniel pronounces the word "Karate" close to the original pronunciation.

Before watching CK I showed my nephews who ate 13 and 11 1, than the first post tournament scene of 2, switched it to 3 and showed them 2 last and now they think of this one as 3 no matter what anyone says. Lol

A weird thing happened to me in 2008. I went to Okinawa and that song Kumiko is humming was actually playing in a shop in Naha when I walked past. I couldn't believe it. I still can't. I wish I know what it was called.
The song is called tinsagu nu hana (the balsam flowers). You can try searching it as てぃんさぐぬ花 on youtube.

4:12 People always say Daniel regressed in his karate from KK2 to KK3. That's definitely true, but don't sleep on the fact that, after a simple kick to the side, the 1984 All Valley Champion rolled around on the ground in pain for a good 3 minutes, all while leaving his 5' tall girlfriend to stand her ground.
Daniel got stronger in kk3 people who say he got weaker just don’t understand karate
But then he hit Chozen with a swift nutshot and dropped him, then beat him in a death fight. What did he do with Mike Barnes, in the movie following? He spent the ENTIRE movie getting whooped in one sided beatdowns. The comparison doesn't work here because Daniel didn't then spend the entire movie getting beaten up by Chozen with no ability to even defend himself. In Karate Kid 3, he was either so weak, or Barnes so OP, that even when Daniel would hit Barnes, it did nothing to him and Barnes tanked it 'stop that' then throws him around. Chozen was never so highly above Daniel.
@@user-nv2wt4hi8t 100% on KK3. It's indefensible (even though I always secretly liked it). Daniel always looked like the biggest wimp in that movie. I was just re-watching KK2 for the first time in awhile, and thinking (maybe a bit too much) about how funny it is that he just won a karate championship and yet acts like such a biyatch in this scene.
@@user-nv2wt4hi8t also, re-watch the other confrontations he has with Chozen in KK2 including the bar, ice-breaking scene, and the two fights. Daniel pusses out constantly. I love these movies but I always have a laugh at Daniel's expense.

Chozen incapicitated a stronger Daniel for 46 seconds while Johnny only knocked an UNTRAINED Daniel down for a bit. This shows a huge difference in power between him and Chozen. Then Mike Barnes is even more powerful

Thanks to Peter Barakan (see Japanology videos), I now know the song Kumiko is humming. For those interested, it's a Japanese tune called Tinsagu nu Hana (The Balsam Flowers).
This was her first acting role. I always said that she was the best of Daniel's 3 love interests and he should have ended up with her. She was beautiful' kind, and brave. She stood up to Chozen every time but the best part is seconds after having a knife to her throat attacked him to help Daniel have a moment to recover from the first part of the fight, that is a keeper if you ask me

When i was young I just thought that Miyagi and Yukie were old. Now that I am starting to get older i notice that the actress who played Yukie was beautiful. Kumiko, on the other hand, was like something out of a dream.

Me. Miyagi is a Japanese American and Okinawa Island used to be part of the United States, thus Kumiko speaks English.
They would be speaking Okinawan. Not even Japanese

Because neither of the actors knew Japanese, & it's an extremely hard language for a native English speaker to learn, & vice-versa. They are very incompatible languages.
