£1000 Tesla Incentive. So, it appears that if you buy on lease you get about £10 off per month (£360 over a 36 month lease) and it’s also adds a £500 Tesla credit pending in your Tesla app. I have checked this with a couple of other people and this seems to be how they are applying the £1000 incentive for lease purchases. I guess it will be confirmed when you take ownership of the car.

In the US Tesla leasing is employing a bait and switch switch technique. You’ll get the numbers from their website, pay non refundable $200 then you get another $100 on your monthly with the credit score adjusted. What is interesting is that with a CS of 850(the max) you still get the bump (check the forums). Does that sound like a scam? Not sure about UK…

Just to clarify before I order. So if I choose one to be delivered and they don't get it to me before the cut off date, how does that work? Can I just cancel the order or would I be forced into paying a higher price?
No idea but can’t see that happening. Also lots of differing news on what you actually get when doing a lease rather than a purchase, £10 per month discount and some Tesla credit seems like a popular answer. You couldn’t be forced into a higher price, you could I suppose get your order cancelled.

OK so I made a fresh order with a new £1000 referral link. Marc's one had been used up also by the time I ordered so I had to use a new one. It does indeed only discount the monthly figure by about £10 give or take a few pennies depending on the configuration. Reason being the £1000 discount referral link relates to the total value of the car. So roughly 45k plus, however over the 3 years of the lease payments you will be charged roughly 16k so the discount of £1000 is then calculated on a pro rata basis. Relating to the 16k element so basically you get between £350 and £400 off depending on configuration. This is very badly processed as you don't see what the discount link will do until you have confirmed your order. If somebody on here got confirmation that the £1000 would be credited as Tesla/Super charging credit. I think the Tesla advisor giving them the info gave them the wrong information.
New order, exact same configuration with the £1000 discount link, total lease cost £15,835.40. Still a good deal but like you have just said a few sentences could stop it being misleading.
Hi just missed out on this deal as i took delivery of one on the 2nd sept...paying £440 for 1500 miles over 2 years...man crying now....i would cancel my one but not sure if i would get finance as i have one out already...any advice please..
With the most popular forms of new car leasing Contract Hire and Personal Contract Hire road tax is included for the full lease term. With an Operating lease or a Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) tax is included for the first year, therefore it is your responsibility after this period. You pay the road tax up until the vehicle is purchased or collected and the lease terminated.
Dude…you don’t need to worry about tax on a lease, only on PCP, HP, Loan, Cash etc. on a PCH the car is owned by the lease company so taxation is their problem unless they write something to the contrary into your agreement (which I’ve not seen in the past).
@@DefinitelyNotAGuruheads up - we've started to see most contain a line with words to the effect of "if the road tax changes significantly, we will pass the difference on to the customer" - so I think lease companies are starting to cover themselves against it suddenly becoming 180 quid Vs £0 or so next year, without having to raise the monthlies and appear less competitive at point of purchase. I believe margins are quite tight on some these lead lease deals, so the equivalent of £15 quid a month on road tax may well make a difference to the funders.
Great deal. However, I ordered mine 2 days before the £1000 off deal came into effect 😢 Few days back got VIN and Reg assigned in the app and delivery brought forward. But now VIN has been removed and likely delivery in mid October 😮😢 Anybody else experienced this???
Just got a txt saying the following - Tesla Action Required - Due to high demand, the delivery date of your order is currently estimated to be after September 30th 2024. To ensure you receive the current finance incentives for your Model Y on order, we need to update your order. Reply with YES to confirm this change, and you will receive an updated order confirmation Basically I have to change spec or it doesn't look like I'll be getting the motor or the deal. Obviously they want to delivery and get their quarterly sales up before the end of Sept. Messaged them through the app a few times and I must say the lack of communication in general is starting to annoy me.
@@stephenmurphy5882 I was also initially told to order and that I'll get delivery by 30th September. The app now says 1st - 16th October. I've ordered white with dark Gemini wheels. Seems like the white/white combination are being delivered on time. What did they ask you to change the spec to out of interest? I'm thinking I'll receive a similar text soon.
@stephenmurphy5882 Thanks for the update mate. What is strange I was assigned a VIN in the app and just this morning it was removed apart from Reg. Was the car faulty or given to somebody else I have no clue. And yes the in app chat is almost useless. Getting no information whatsoever. May I ask why you need to change spec?
@KJ-iu7jx not entirely sure, the app previously mentioned est delivery of 20th to 30th Sept. Then that changed to just est delivery Sept, then the text today seems to have contradicted that. I'm currently trying to get clarification on the app chat/message facility to see if they specifically know what is going on. I did order the Midnight Cherry Red paint and Black Gemini Wheels so maybe because I didn't order the bog standard white car might be the issue I'm guessing. Or the fact my pick-up would be in Belfast. They might not have the inventory here and might not be worth their while financially to ship my specification over from say England where they would most likely have a much bigger inventory to choose from. That's my best guess for now anyway. Hopefully know more soon.
Not really mate, I'd just get one via Octopus probably, or try Ohme - I'm getting one from them very soon. I donnk the Tesla wallbox is anything particularly special and there's plenty of choice around.
@@DefinitelyNotAGuru that's for the swift response. lots of conflicting comments, some say you get £10 off per month which seems like the most likely. Probably not worth the hassle and to cancel would cost you £200!
Instead of leasing a Tesla I'd spend the 4 grand on a Citigo/Up/Mii (60 or 75PS engine) and for the 299 you could drive 2500+ miles every month (fuel cost) That type of car is super reliable, dirt cheap in maint./repair/insurance and the better deal in my view. Go for the deal, not for the car.

So get a home charger maybe? It will provide a good 220-240 miles. Public charging is expensive so most only use it on occasional long trips.
If you could fill your car with petrol at home for 10x less than the petrol station I’m sure you’d rarely use the petrol station even if it were at the end of your street.

Will Tesla pay for the VED tax and servicing for the lease term on this?

£1000 Tesla Incentive. So, it appears that if you buy on lease you get about £10 off per month (£360 over a 36 month lease) and it’s also adds a £500 Tesla credit pending in your Tesla app. I have checked this with a couple of other people and this seems to be how they are applying the £1000 incentive for lease purchases. I guess it will be confirmed when you take ownership of the car.
A couple of others have told me the same thing - it's all good and the deal is good enough without it but I wish their wording was clearer.

So in the US they pay 15/20k less for the same car? If so, then what a rip off is the Uk…
Yep, they pay a hell of a lot less than we do for cars, always have.
Yes with 15x down it’s not a £299 lease but a decent deal.
15x down?
15 months upfront?
In the US Tesla leasing is employing a bait and switch switch technique. You’ll get the numbers from their website, pay non refundable $200 then you get another $100 on your monthly with the credit score adjusted. What is interesting is that with a CS of 850(the max) you still get the bump (check the forums). Does that sound like a scam? Not sure about UK…
That sounds awful.
Do you have a link to comments please , CS ??

Same ... I had the car i wanted in my sight ready to order! I quickly had my tea to then go back and the deal had finished 😢 I was gutted !

@pareshpatel466 , yep....I waited about 50 mins on the phone the other day tp speak to an advisor. They "assured" me it will be delivered prior to the end of September.
Original order total lease cost without any discount link £16,183.16
It’s very badly explained - a couple of simple sentences on the website would have helped.
New order, exact same configuration with the £1000 discount link, total lease cost £15,835.40. Still a good deal but like you have just said a few sentences could stop it being misleading.

Took a leap of faith and ordered one...my first EV... So excited...now to switch energy provider and order a charger....
Hi Jim
On this deal is luxury car applicable now or next year when EV’ s are taxed?
With the most popular forms of new car leasing Contract Hire and Personal Contract Hire road tax is included for the full lease term.
With an Operating lease or a Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) tax is included for the first year, therefore it is your responsibility after this period. You pay the road tax up until the vehicle is purchased or collected and the lease terminated.
PCH so don’t worry about it
@@DefinitelyNotAGuru this is a lease deal though ??
Luxury car tax is for registration after April 25 , u done a vid on it ??😊
Dude…you don’t need to worry about tax on a lease, only on PCP, HP, Loan, Cash etc. on a PCH the car is owned by the lease company so taxation is their problem unless they write something to the contrary into your agreement (which I’ve not seen in the past).
This is like £500 a month on Lease loco with 3k down for 4 years I just wish it wasn't so ugly lol

Great deal. However, I ordered mine 2 days before the £1000 off deal came into effect 😢
Few days back got VIN and Reg assigned in the app and delivery brought forward. But now VIN has been removed and likely delivery in mid October 😮😢
Anybody else experienced this???
Sorry to hear that
Just got a txt saying the following - Tesla Action Required - Due to high demand, the delivery date of your order is currently estimated to be after September 30th 2024. To ensure you receive the current finance incentives for your Model Y on order, we need to update your order. Reply with YES to confirm this change, and you will receive an updated order confirmation
Basically I have to change spec or it doesn't look like I'll be getting the motor or the deal.
Seems to be only PCH which is a shame as I’d snap this up if I could fund it through the business rather than paying for it after 40% tax!
Is there a business leasing option?

Instead of leasing a Tesla I'd spend the 4 grand on a Citigo/Up/Mii (60 or 75PS engine) and for the 299 you could drive 2500+ miles every month (fuel cost)
That type of car is super reliable, dirt cheap in maint./repair/insurance and the better deal in my view.
