I really miss him... there was just something about his phrasing and tone that just really gets me. His solos can cut me to the soul.
I don't want to bash him, but really don't like his tone. Dime was a incredible guitar player, really skilled, and a great songwritter, but his tone makes me cringe.
Are you comparing a 90s-ish thrash tone to a modern metal tone? Because that's always going to make one cringe. People were still scooping the mids for the most part.

Tho other thing about Pantera is the mix...it NEEDS to be heard on a powerful system with good subwoofers to really feel the energy. It isn't even close on tv or laptop speakers. Need to feel it in your chest. His tone is HUGE like that.

Haha. I'm sure he means that in the same way Dave Mustaine does, where he can play solos very fluidly, but may have more trouble soloing over more complex rhythms. Laying down complex rhythms, however, is the specialty of a rhythm player.

Hi Ola! I've been watching your videos for a long time, and I've appreciated this one, too.
The only thing that turned me off a little bit was the lowered key (whops, I can't talk English anymore! but I guess you got what I mean), but besides that I really enjoyed it, and judging by the way you play it it really seems to me that you meant it as a tribute.

This is the cover I've seen with the closest feel to Dime. Just sick man.
The absolute best USA Handmade Dime Washburn ever produced and they also sound the best and play the best, Still have mine to this day in mint condition and won't ever get rid of it I'm passing it down to my Son when I'm gone.

I had an opportunity to get an original Dime Stealth with Dime's signature in the late 90's or maybe 2000 for $1,000 and I couldn't afford it. I still reel over not being able to get it and seeing that guitar reminds me. RIP Dime. Amazing how much I'm sure we all miss that fucken guy.
