- Hey guys today with we are going to take a quick overview of the newly released and delivered Atlas O premier SD70ACe. This is Norfolk Southern 1164 w/PTC. I was lucky enough to track down a 2 rail version so I got fixed pilots and scale couplers. Atlas did provide scale couplers from factory I decided to replace with Kadee 740 couplers.
The engine is a spectacular model all you would expect from a Atlas model using MTH tooling. I believe this is the best SD70ACe on the market now. Far as realism, reliability, sound quality and quality of model itself.

Nice locomotive. I've run these many times during my career. I couldn't tell if it has the isolated cab detail, which is on all of the NS SD70 ACe's. Either way, an excellent video.
Sweet always wanted to try fixed pilot on my 3rail scale I tried to get cn version but waited to long

Love the look of this loco.
My wife purchased me a 3 rail version, for Christmas, not realizing the difference. I model in 2 rail. Would you have a source, or be interested in selling/trading, your 2 rail wheels, for my 3 rails ?
That happens, my wife gave away my Christmas present a little by asking “uhm do I buy 2 rail or 3 rail” which doing 3 rail scale I was like well that depends really on the item 😂😂

It will, just not very well. The rail head profile on fastrack is more suited for 3-rail trains.
Hello how hard was it to change it from 2rail to 3rail because l was planning on getting one from a freind New in box but its 2rail ?is it worth getting???
It would depend greatly on the model. If it’s MTH tooled then it’s pretty simple. Just tracking down wheel sets can be tricky. If it’s another brand it’s easier to buy a 3 rail and just fix the pilots yourself.
@TJToyTrains it's the same diesel you have brand new he order 2 with different numbers and Iam getting both so I would just need to change wheel set to 3rail ones
@@TJsModelTrains and could you use wheel sets from unused to be powered but turn into dummies with lights 🤔
