Day 20 of 25 Days of Christmas with TJ 2024! | PRR 0-8-0 | The Little Engine that could!
Day 20 of 25 Days of Christmas with TJ 2024!
This 0-8-0 was bought for the purpose of being used for a board swap, however once my dad got it he really liked it and thought it was a great little engine.
I later got it from him and it was my first command engine I had and used back on my 4x8 layout for a long while. It’s still here and kicking around no issues. Sometimes you can’t beat the railking for reliability and looks. Especially the scale railking.
Well see yall tomorrow!

Day 19 of 25 Days of Christmas with TJ 2024! | Finally steam! | ATSF 5022 on the PRR 1957
Переглядів 1972 години тому
Day 19 of 25 Days of Christmas with TJ 2024! Finally we’ve made it to the Steam era of the collection! The ATSF 5022 is an engine I got this year and decided to weather it as it looked in the mid 1950s on the Sandusky branch of the PRR. They were rough looking by this point if their careers. It does look awesome pulling my Atlas O H21a’s and Lionel GLa hoppers. I had the opportunity to run this...

Day 16 of 25 Days of Christmas 2024! Today we look at my pair of MTH Premier CSX YN2, these have been around for the series before. However they have both been worked over with fixed pilots, kadees and maybe eventually weathered! The dash-8 was a Christmas present from my wife a few years back and the AC4400 came from our good friend Brad in Florida! The AC4400 is the “Spirit of the Clinchfield...

Day 15 of 25 Days of Christmas with TJ 2024! We dive into the longest train we’ve made for the series plus the most engines in a lash up! This train was inspired by a single unique car! When @3RailTom was in town visiting we saw the 75’ depressed flat car with the generator! Obviously we had to get some and we put our twist on it! Definitely had alot of fun putting this train together and runni...

Day 14 of 25 Days of Christmas 2024! We take a look back at a Christmas classic! My MTH premier CSX AC6000, I got this for Christmas back in 2002 or 2003. I’ve always loved this engine and it’s a staple in my collection, being an older 5v PS2 unit I do go easy on it and with some of its other defects from age it sits on the shelf a lot however I couldn’t let this sit out my 25 Days of Christmas...

Day 12 of 25 Days of Christmas with TJ 2024! FINALLY! An MTH Premier Conrail ES44 heritage unit, this is an engine I was after for a very long time. Took about 3 years to track one down for a sensible price. Ended up being a trade for a Lionel Conrail ES44 I bought. Sometimes things just work out for ya! Super thankful I was at the right place and was able to swap these locomotives around that ...

Day 11 of 25 Days of Christmas with TJ 2024! CSX YN3 was nothing I thought I would ever own! Well I have three examples of YN3 now! The SD70MAc leading I got from our friend Brad in Florida earlier this year. It pairs well with the SD70MAc I got at York last year. The weathered one that I made a PS3 powered unit. The lead unit I made a custom Flared radiator SD70MAc! Something I always liked an...

Day 10 of 25 Days of Christmas with TJ 2024! Can’t believe it’s already day 10! This year is flying by aint it! We take a look at a new engine for 2024 my MTH Premier Norfolk Southern Dash-9 (C40-9w) I’ve had this sitting here a while debating what to do with it. I think it deserves weathering and PTC antennas but not sure! I guess we’ll see in 2025 what happens to it! I’m definitely stuck on f...

Day 9 of 25 Days of Christmas with TJ 2024! For the 3rd year in a row! My CSX Narrow nose Dash-8(C40-8) makes an appearance. Much like the Penn Central ACe this also got a makeover this year! Fixed pilots, kadees and weathering! I think it looks 100x better and just looks mean. You can’t beat that 90s GE look. Just looks badass! I used to see these with rolling through my hometown all the time....

Переглядів 223День тому
Day 8 of 25 Days of Christmas with TJ 2024! My Penn Central SD70ACe heritage unit. This has had quite the journey with me. I got it as a non powered unit, made it powered and then it was made “3RS” with extended handrails, fixed pilots and kadees! Makes it quite the model in my opinion! I know many don’t like Penn Central mostly due to it being the saddest days of North Eastern railroading and ...

As a kid they took me out west often and I used to see the then new BNSF swoosh logo ES44s a lot. My grandpa bought the ES44 shortly after a trip out west and he was kind enough to pass them down to me! Always will be a special place in my col...

Great chessie F units!!
Thank you! I appreciate it
Super nice, great sound.
Thank you! I’m happy it did sound good on camera, it has a bad rattle in the tender I can’t seem to find and remedy.
Nice steam locomotive. Nothing like a dirty, gritty, coal train.
Yeah, it does look good! I love having the uniqueness of the train.
The gold GM 50 was an actual locomotive. I believe was made by GM for EMDs 50th anniversary. I have seen the real GM 50 in the 80s as it crossed the Ohio River bridge into Parkersburg WVa.
You are correct! It was a GP40 but back in those days of Lionel accurate modeling was not big yet. I’ve often contemplated getting the gold MTH GP40. Would look good with my other premier chessie.
Nice!
Thank you!
Nice, I do the detail.
Thank you!
Very cool, thanks!
Thank you for watching! Merry Christmas
Nice run. The U36C was the first locomotive I got as a gift on eBay! That's when I was just getting everything with no focus.
It’s a classic, took a back seat years ago but it’s fun to run occasionally for the nostalgia!
Great! MPC had some cool engines and cars. The soundtrack is perfect, for sure. An excellent video, as always.
Oh yeah, definitely a big step from the post war. I’m sure people loved all the color back then. Thank you for watching!
MPC Era is Mt favorite!! Great video!
It’s definitely nostalgic for me. Thank you for watching!
The U36C was in your Easter basket many years ago.
I knew it was from something just couldn’t remember. Just know it’s been around a long time!
Love the background info! Lots of great memories! See you here same time tomorrow!
Yes lots of memories!
Great video man! Cool back story and as I always say amazing weathering!
Thanks man! Glad you’re enjoying the series!
Spirit of D’s
🤣🤣
Another good one…look forward to #17!
Thank you!
My favorite so far!
Thank you! It was a fun one to put together
Nice Tj, very cool engine, 👍
Thank you! It’s definitely an all time favorite lots of sentimental value
Try to talk Atlas into another appearance!
I will try. Maybe again before the series is over!
You are so knowledgeable! I am getting a better understanding of trains. I may have to start a collection of my own. 😊
Haha just what ya need another item to collect! But I’d be glad to help!
Those flared MACs should be in the 47xx/48xx series. the 45xx series ones do not have flared radiators
You’re correct, I addressed that in the video! Thanks for watching. Merry Christmas
@ No problem, figured it might help to mention it here for people wondering. It could make for a great unit to renumber with some decals!
❤ NS video nice
Thank you!
Honk if you’re horn-y! Nice 🐈!
Loved this! Hug Atlas for me!
I will do!
🤠👋🚂🗯🛷🧸
Thank you for watching!
Just stumbled across this channel. Usually not a fan of 3-rail O scales but these models and that track work look fantastic. Nicely done sir and happy holidays! Subbed 👍
Thank you I appreciate it! I try hard to bridge the gap from O gauge to O scale. Weathered track, kadees, fixed pilots etc. I would like to eventually do 2-rail. But I have to much 3 rail track plus my Dad and grandpa have 3 rail. So I am kinda stuck. Maybe one day I can do both. Merry Christmas to you too!
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to you too!
Conrail, another of my favorites.
I agree! I love the blue
love the horn on that engine! is it custom? it sounds different than the other MTH Es44 Horns i’ve heard.
The Black ES44 is stock, the Conrail not 100% sure on. It came that and it’s probably the nicest horn in any of the engines I own. Thanks for watching!
Nice locomotive. I have the same one. What pilots did you use?
Thank you! I was able to get some stock ones, makes the conversion a lot easier! Thanks for watching!
@@TJsModelTrains No problem. Are they 2-rail pilots?
Very nice
Thank you! I appreciate you watching!
Awesome Tj,👍👍 beautiful locomotives and you put together a great looking train 😁👍🎄
Thank you! I am trying to make some cool consists for the videos! Having some fun with it
Thanks for sharing
No problem! Thanks for watching! Merry Christmas!!
Beautiful locomotive and trains 👍
Thanks man! I appreciate it
My favorite beer!
They just recently started to stock it in the south! Used to only be able to get it when we would go back to PA. Definitely a nice surprise to see it here! Have Merry Christmas!
So what about the pilot issue you did not even address it or show how it’s done or how it looks going into a curve a waste of time!
I’m not sure the pilots are an issue? This is also a Christmas series highlighting items and giving a little back story on my collection, since trains are a Christmas tradition for many people. I’m not doing in depth “reviews” of each item. Maybe in future I’ll do something more in depth on “3 Rail Scale”. Appreciate you watching have a Merry Christmas!
CSX, one of my favorites.
Same here! Will always have a special place for it in my heart, being I saw it growing up alot in my hometown
Yes! 2024! Proud of you
I’ll get there eventually 🤣
Nice work! Enjoy hearing your stories!
@@fit2fiddle2Thank you!
Beautiful Csx 👍 hey man my favorite railroad awesome train
Thank you! There will be more CSX coming up!
Beautiful train 👍 Merry Christmas 🎄
Thank you! Merry Christmas to you too!
Too bad they didn't include the loudspeakers mounted on the real one that piped out music from an 8-track player in the cab. Even cooler had they had set it up to play music just like the real one.
I wondered what that PA speaker was for! Thanks for sharing. I’m sure I could find a 3D printed PA speaker for the model haha.
I managed to find one of these at York last October! As someone who lives about half an hour or so out of Savannah, this is something I was wanting to find or make for myself. It had never been run, pickup rollers had no visible wear, and its odometer was at 0.0 scale miles. I had plans to repaint a newer diesel that I bought to repaint to this scheme but had not gotten around to doing it yet. Glad I (unintentionally) held off on the project.
That’s awesome! Definitely nice to score something that’s never been ran before. That would be a fun repaint project haha definitely glad I have one and didn’t have to do that. I’ve done a few and repaints can get out of hand quickly
Your weathered engines/cars are by far my favorites.
Thank you! Mine too!
Southern tuxedo is a classy paint scheme man, love the high hood with the southern F’S. Great era and the southern diesels🔥
Thanks man! Yeah you can’t beat the sleek tuxedo look. Hopefully some more joins the collection in future!
Did you paint up that GATX Berwick? Looks good.
Yeah, I did that one. I still need to finish it. Then I can matte clear it and tone it down a bit haha
Loving the shot from atop the mountain!! Getting artistic!! ❤
Was hard to keep it from falling and being all shaky!
I'm going to need to borrow those TTX Berwicks for a minute. 😂 Merry Christmas! 🎅🌲🎁
They are great boxcars! I wish I could find some more myself! Merry Christmas to you as well!
Love this TJ. You do wonderful work!
Thank you! I appreciate ya watching!
I've been trying to find one for a few years.
I’ve never seen another one available. It’s definitely a pretty unique paint scheme not sure how many people were interested in it when it was made. May not be that many of them! Who knows haha
@TJsModelTrains I do like the paint scheme and the history behind the train. Thank you for sharing.
@@JuanMartinezColonno problem! Glad you enjoyed it! Have a wonderful Christmas season!
Very cool! I really like your Christmas series, it's quite enjoyable. FEC had some neat locomotives, for sure. Non-dynamic equipped, since they were a fairly level railroad. The Champion is really sweet! They did a fine job on those cars. I'm a passenger train guy and feature quite a few of them on my channel. Another excellent video, as always.
I appreciate you watching and enjoying the series! I agree the champion scheme is a wonderful paint job for FEC. Sad to see they are repainting their ES44s now. Soon there won’t be much of the Champion scheme left.
Cool looking engine. Smaller can be better.
It’s definitely a fun little engine. I don’t run it much but i probably should. I can pop some kadees on it pretty easy and run it around more.
