*To be passive is to let others decide for you. To be aggressive is to decide for others. To be assertive is to decide for yourself. And to trust that there is enough, that you are enough.*

A couple of years ago my girlfriend 's neighbors were going at it - instead of yelling the typical "Shut the F$%& up!" through the wall she yelled "Come quick, the neighbors are having sex - it's HILARIOUS!" after that - silence... Now, there's always the chance that could maybe make things awkward - but there is no anger in it. Hope this got a laugh.

This is absolutely amazing! I am like the kind of person you described in the vid most of the time but I know that many people are even worse than me. Also I learnt now why I keep repeating my mistakes over and over again even though I realize what I should have done and record them on my diary, and when similar things happen I deal with them the same way as before and suffer grief but didn't know why, and I am so disappointed with myself. Now I know it's because my subconsciousness has recorded my action and I am doing things subconsciously. Especially when there are people around, as you mentioned, I tend to keep silent when there are people watching I feel so embarrassed to argue with anyone with people watching. Now I know how to address these problems now. Thank you.

it is all about balance, we all know both edges of the path but rather than finding a good balance we keep swinging from a point to another one and this makes us look back in front of yourselves, just find a balance between being a good guy and an assertive alpha...

  • @boomer-gu4wf

for one and a half years ago when i began college, i was the hardest and coldest mofo People that i met was probably stunned at my confidence and alpha behaviour. and i usually turn into this hunk when i know im going to meet a new large group of People. So school began, other guys
"challanged " me to test how alpha i was and also my abillity to stand up for myself. And i struck their challanges to the ground i was the hardest mofo in The group.
but as time passed, my alpha behaviour and feeling of beeing one slowly went away. because at this point i did not have to prove myself anymore. Thus nowadays im still respected by the People around me, because of their first impressions of me. But now... im small and dare i say weak? The person i was 2 years ago is a totally different human beeing! Nothing was impossible! I was the strongest man in The entire world (in my head and in my behaviour against People) girls rushed to talk to me and The guys looked up to me....
but now... what have i become....
i need to go back and find my ultimate self. THATS IT

Being assertive without shitting on someone is the way to go about things.
I try not to cross that line because then I always have things thrown in my face. Like the fact that I own my house and everything comes easy to me. Well it doesn't. If you pay attention to your own goals and reach them, you've done something right!

If you are mistreated at work, its better to leave ASAP, i stayed in a job like that for 1.5 year and it took a toll on my confidence, professional-confidence, ruined my relationship and made me feel depressed. Worst of all, if you teach yourself to tolerate this kind of behaviour will make it more likely for you to experience it at the next job as well, people will get the wibe off you that they can walk over you. You're gonna quit such job sooner or later, do it sooner before the damage it done.

He doesn’t schedule me for work because “there’s no work” yet my co workers always have work. I see I’m being manipulated and lied to when I’ve done nothing but be nice and it’s taking a toll and affecting my life. I’m done though. Yep lets be assertive. You know the amount of people who get stabbed because they have told off some person who cut infront of them.

I'm a women, I just took a stand and stood up for myself at 55. I hired an attorney and now the bullies and liars are are hiding, 3 weeks now, middle management is trying to not let top management know to dispicible thing they did to me that put my professional license on the line. I feel good about it, but I'm still out of a job, but I will get a settlement.

The best thing about being alpha is that you have freedom in your life.

I am assertive af and many people mistake me to be an asshole.. I have more people hating me rather than being my friend.. but its all worth it.. because I always stood up for myself and nothing makes me happier than standing up for myself instead of being a pushover just for the sake of friendship or anything else.. we all different in our own way and that's why most of the times we would rather disagree with someone's opinion rather than agree with it because we are different..

If you come off as an asshole then you are doing something wrong.
I know lots of mega-assertive guys and everyone thinks that they are great guys, because they have a balance between assertiveness and normal courtesy.

@@Peter_1986 the thing is not many people know what alpha's are because of our beta flooded society, alot of people will see a true alpha as a douchebag

I kind of agree and disagree with always responding. Alpha means knowing when to react and when to chill. A greasy buritto is a chill time.
